The maids peel Tristan from my arms and I don't know how we made it through the halls without collapsing against a wall, but somehow, breathless and shaking, we end up on the terrace, alone, high above the castle.
Lucien's hands skims my throat, then my ribcage, then lower, tugging at my skirts in frantic, graceless pulls. His mouth finds the swell of my breasts, tongue tracing the edges of my corset until his teeth catch through the fabric like he's hunting for my pulse. He locates my nipple and sucks hard.
