The adventurers outpost didn't look like an outpost at all, it was larger than the building surrounding it, and unlike the other buildings it was made of stones, carefully chiseled and layered. Seems whoever runs this place has some small wealth, Ezreal thought.
He walked over entering the double doors, surprised at the scene inside. It resembled a sort of medieval pub. Around him tables, with people drinking what he assumed to be alcohol in large wooden kegs, the laughed into the air, sharing stories. Above their heads a green triangle facing down identifying their roles as npcs.
Ezreal observed them closely seeing all of the carrying weapons, some had large broadswords, others wore robes with a staff in their hands. The place smelled of cheap rum, on the side a small piano played, only there was no person playing it, it keys played by itself a soothing melody filling the room.
He walked in heading to the counter. As he made way, a few faces turned observing him as he was a new face. He heard a few whispers blow his way. He tuned in listening to them.
"Hey, who's that?" One adventurer asked his comrade.
"I don't know looks probably some village kid." The comrade said, taking a big sip from his wooden keg.
He arrived at the reception. In front of him, a small petite woman smiled at him. Her long brown har fell to her back. A faint blush could be seen on her cheeks.
"Hello. Your a new face, how can i help you this fine day" She said with a slightly high pitched voice.
"Hi, i was told to come here by the village guards for registration. You see i'm an adventurer and i got lost in the forest losing everything." Ezreal said, feigning disappointment as he brought his hand scratching the back of his head.
"It's completely fine we can sign you up to the adventurer guild in a jiffy, just fill out this form." She said, brining out a paper with a quil and a bottle of black ink.
Ezreal raised an eyebrow he hadn't expected to be that easy, but he attributed it to the game devs, probably lessened the difficulty to make the starting experience smooth. He quickly filled the information as it asked basic information, like his name, age, level and class.
He handed it back to the receptionist, she smiled bringing out a large crystal ball.
"Please place your hand on it, this will help us determine how strong you are, and so we can assign you the right level." She said.
Ezreal nodded in understanding placing his hand on top of the crystal ball. It was cold to the touch but it slowly started warming up as multiple light particles appeared in the orb as they began moving inside. The orb began glowing a warm orange color. Ezreal was fascinated he turned to the receptionist, seeing her force a strained smile.
"Um, sorry what does this mean." Ezreal asked with slight confusion.
The receptionist again strained a smile, scratching the back of her head.
"Uhm, it means that unfortunately you are at the weakest level of adventurers the F grade." She said with her head down.
"F, what are the other ranks." He asked.
"Well, the ranks typically go from F-SSS, but there are two more ranks above them theser are are warlord, and overlord class, though less that 0.1% of adventurers make it to that level." She answered.
Ezreal nodded in understanding, seems ill have to reach the overlord class, he said to himself. He Thanked the receptionist for her help as she handed him his Adventurers ID, a copper plate displaying his F rank.
"Now that you got your identification, you can head to the quest board over there to select you first quest, remember to take one of your level." She said.
Ezreal nodded thanking her again before walking over to the quest board. Suddenly the system blared as it opened up.
Ezreal stared at the string of notifications, he closed the system interface he first needed to pick a quest before continuing. He looked at the quest all the F level quest were placed at the edges of the board. All of them were basic quests, like picking some wild flowers or recovering something that was lost. He opted not to do those as he needed to level up fast.
In the corner of his eye he discovered an interesting quest. It was a E level quest but felt he could handle it. It was to bring back 10 Emerald forest cat hearts to the city alchemist. He smiled he had fought them before this shouldn't be hard.
He tore the paper from the board, heading out of the adventurers post. But before he went to do the quest there was something he needed to do first. He had attained level 5, it was about time he obtained a class.
