The meeting was over as all the heroes left the meeting room except for Batman, who sat in his chair brooding.
But this was unlike any of his other brooding sessions as he felt burdened by emotion as his fists were clenched.
Joker's death made Batman feel both angry and helpless not at Adrian but at himself.
Batman had on more than one occasion thought about ending the crazy clown but each time it came to the decision he would remind himself of his code, his principles that kept him from becoming another mass murderer in the cesspool known as Gotham.
He vehemently believed in his no kill rule and wouldn't budge from it , because Bruce believed his convictions are the reason a broken man with issues like him could still don the cape and go out to fight crime.
In the end Joker is dead and his conviction preventing him from killing Joker was also no longer needed, if he had done the deed and killed Joker earlier , would the number of victims be reduced? If the Joker was going to be killed anyways should he have done it himself?
Batman for never once thought the blood Joker spilled wasn't also in his hands , every life the Criminals he put inside took , grated on his mind.
Every time these criminals busted out and committed crime again it affected him.
Maybe Batman liked torturing himself with all this mental anguish and psychological torture. Deep down ….maybe Bruce hated himself…..

While Bruce was engaged in his self loathing he felt someone embrace himself from behind as he was assaulted by a familiar scent.
" You might get wrinkles from all this frowning~ "
" You shouldn't use it , much less this frequently lest it becomes permanent…" Batman said seriously as he felt two soft melons pressing against the back of his head.
" That wouldn't be a bad thing would it ? " The woman in question giggled as she pressed her lips against Bruce's exposed chin.
" I guess not…" Batman answered in his ever serious tone.
" Bruce! - " Diana who opened the door to the meeting room blushed as she gazed at the woman who is supposed to be 'Superman' hugging Batman intimately.
'Oh my..' Diana exclaimed inside her mind as she didn't judge because on Themiscyra she witnessed similar relationships among some of her fellow sisters.
"Ahem! I'll come back later " Diana coughed to ease the awkwardness as she left the room with a smile.
She had a pep in her steps as she felt a bit giddy as she was happy for the two comrades who fought alongside her.
Even if she had only come to the World of Man for a few months , she could say that Bruce and Clark were both selfless people with integrity….

After Diana left there was an awkward atmosphere permeating in the room as 'Clark' felt a bit subconscious.
But Batman was a man with thick skin as he had learned many tricks from the Tibetan Monks and one of them was the art of having thick skin and being shameless.
"Wanna go back to my place ? " Bruce asked calmly.
"I thought you'd never ask ~ " 'Clark' said with a smirk as she picked up Batman in a bridal carry much to the chagrin of the latter...

"Friend Raven?" A curious ball of energy known as Starfire floated near Raven as he gazed at the goth with eyes resembling a curious dog.
"What is it,Star?…" Raven said in a deadpan tone as she pushed the extremely extroverted redhead away from her face.
"You seem a bit annoyed, but happy at the same time , Raven…" Starfire said with confusion as she gazed at Raven with curiosity.
"Does it have something to do with Friend Adrian ? I have read in a book that girls in love always worry about their loved ones.." Starfire cupped her face dreamily making Raven's lips twitch in exasperation.
"I told you not to trust whatever is written in those stupid story books …" Raven said in exasperation as Starfire wasn't entirely wrong.
Her annoyance stemmed from the knowledge that her boyfriend might be seducing other superheroines with his philandering nature.
Raven understood that even without him trying, gullible heroines like Supergirl might offer themselves on a silver platter to him , and Raven wasn't completely clueless to other's emotions due to her empathy.
She didn't know what Adrian was doing in Gotham… but it better be something important… because she didn't want to know why the heck Batgirl emitted subtle jealousy while they met.
He better come home tonight… otherwise she won't give him cuddles for a week…. No!.... One day should be enough… Yes … that's perfect…

Raven was laying sideways on the sofa as she gently threaded her fingers through Adrian's hair while reading the book in her hands.
Adrian had his face buried between Raven's boobs as he hugged her tightly while inhaling her pleasant scent.
Adrian felt as free as a blob of slime while he was melting from her warmth , all the problems and stress was forgotten by him anf he just enjoyed this warm embrace.
"Good boy~ " Raven whispered soothingly in Adrian's ears as she kissed his earlobe softly.

"Is it necessary…" Firestorm, the hero who was a fusion of Ronny Raymond and Martin Stein, asked in a tense tone as he gazed at the cold face of his fellow hero Captain Atom.
" The crime of desertion is punishable by execution especially for lowlifes like this. The government was kind enough to give these scum a chance at redemption but they chose to escape…" Captain Atom said in a cold tone as he didn't see the people below him to be human.
They were just targets that needed to be eliminated, if the bomb collar was still on them then a press of switch should have solved everything but sadly that wasn't the case here as he had to come all the way over here to take the trash out personally.
And if Adrian Frost shows up , then eliminate him too , that was why he brought Firestorm along for the extra firepower, not that he thought he needed it since even Superman wouldn't claim to defeat him. ( For all his power one good punch to his suit is enough incapacitate him )
Captain Atom pointed his palm towards the residence below him and the building being in the outskirts of Gotham with no other citizens around within a few miles made his job easier.
They thought they were safe by hiding out here but it only made them an easier target for him to evaporate.
A glow appeared on Captain Atom's palm before a blast of energy shot towards the building on the ground and if the blast hits, then nothing would remain.

Adrian who was in bed with Raven suddenly opened his eyes as a frown marred his features.
He didn't even have any time to say anything to Raven as he just teleported out of the room.
Raven, who was jolted awake from the disturbance and the lack of warmth, scowled at the empty spot beside her bed as she went back to sleep with a huff.
She didn't blame Adrian but blamed whatever or whoever made him have to leave , she was having a nice comfortable sleep too , only for it to be ruined…..

Superman , Earth's mightiest hero and most loved, if one had to say.
He was so kind and empathetic that people loved and trusted him , he just did good for the sake of doing good.
To Superman every life was precious and even when he had to make hard choices it came with a lot of pain.
But despite this there were still some who hated him , despised him , and doubted him.
They refused to believe someone like him was just doing good for the sake of being good , 'he must have some ulterior motive' they say.
It wasn't just their pettiness or cynism , there was a deeper meaning to some of their thoughts and it was rooted in fear.
Fear that stemmed from the overwhelming power that a being like Superman held.
If one day he decided to hang up the cape and decide to stop being the big blue boy scout , who was going to stop him ?
To people who fear him, Superman is a threat simply because of his strength, and they didn't want to imagine a world with a not so chill Superman.
But in life things don't go the way we want to and Captain Atom was going to come face to face with a Superman variant that really could give two fucks about being civil…..

A loud explosion ensued as a cloud of smoke rose up and when the smokecloud cleared up Captain Atom was surprised to find the the residence still intact and in its place stood Adrain Frost with smoke still curling off of his form as parts of his white suit and body were regenerating in real time.
Captain Atom couldn't understand how this man took his quantum blast head on and survived , it should have disintegrated him at a molecular level.
Adrian's suit started to glow ominously as his mood was far from pleasant. His glowing eyes themselves should have tipped off how pissed he was.
*Boom!*
Captain Atom and Firestorm didn't have time to react as both of them found themselves being caught by the throat and moving at immense speeds.
*Boom!* *Boom!*
Adrian broke the atmosphere as he was already leaving the surface of the Earth with Captain Atom and Firestorm.....

He threw both of them onto a nearby floating space rock before gazing at them with a cold, almost emotionless gaze.
If he had been a second late then Ivy and the others would have vanished .
He still didn't know how he felt about Pamela, the overly simping woman who saw him as some savior of nature and her Lord, but he certainly didn't hate her and was quite fond of her.
So for this no name , military dog to just waltz into Gotham and try to take out his people meant that these two weren't getting away from this scot free.
And both of them had some interesting powers he would like to have….

"I hope you can take a beating…" Adrian's voice echoed inside Captain Atom's head making the man grit his teeth.
'You are so dead Kid!' Captain Growled inside his head but before he could even do anything his eyes widened as Adrian suddenly teleported in front of him and smacked him across the face , sending him flying.
Captain Atom was fast , one of the fastest heroes on Earth… But Adrian was faster as he turned to Firestorm and immediately gave him a round house kick sending the man flying.
He could easily kill these two because both of them had such obvious weaknesses but he first wanted to beat the shit out of them….

Jupiter….

*Bam!*
Firestorm got the living daylights knocked out of him as Adrian kicked him across the face, sending him crashing to the ground headfirst as he skidded through the dirt with his head still buried as he left behind a path in the ground.
Firestorm didn't get up as he twitched a bit before staying down, it would take a few moments for Firestorm to recover from the beating he took and this enabled Adrian to give his undivided attention to Captain Atom….

Adrian held Captain Atom by the face as he used his thumb to keep his eyelids open as his eyes started to glow with energy.
"Aaaaaarghhhhh!!!!" Captain Atom started to scream in agony as his eyes were being lasered by Adrian who didn't flinch in the least.
*Bam!* *Bam!*
Captain Atom punched Adrian wildly hoping to loosen his hold, but nothing happened as Adrian continued to blast his heat vision onto Captain Armin's eyeballs making the veteran soldier scream even more in desperation.
Due to his regeneration the pain just continued and Adrian never intended to penetrate his brain as causing pain was his primary objective…..
