Returning back to her room, Arya found two thick exercise books on the bedside table.
Opening it, she found that it was the notes that she had asked from Rodriguez. She thanked him inwardly and rushed to start decoding the letter.
There was an old pencil and some paper in one of the books, so Arya used that to help her write down the translated words.
She worked on it for hours until she finally decoded the entire letter.
Although it was past midnight, Arya stayed up and began to read, hoping to unlock the mystery that lay in her path.
She was both excited and terrified at the same time. What if it told her something that wasn't meant for her?
What if she finds out she never was truly an heir of this witch? What would she do then?
She couldn't even return back to Alfa and the Moonsglow pack.
She began reading the letter:
Dear child,
You have finally found this letter and I'm so happy you did.
Let me first introduce myself. My name is Elora Crystalwitch. I'm one of the first thirteen dark witches to have been born.
Most of my sisters are no longer alive, as they were burnt at the stakes.
My child, you are the very first dark witch to be born in generations. I couldn't bear any female child myself, and unfortunately, your grandmother also bore two male children.
Your mother, however, gave me you, Aria Elaine Moonstone Crystalwitch, my successor. Your brother will become the Moonstone packs Alpha, while you will rule by his side as the packs protector, and side by side, you both will be untouchable.
Yes, I know! What brother? He died in that car accident years ago!
Child, I have seen the future. Yes, during the accident, your parents passed on, and you survived. So did your brother.
I'll talk about him later.
Coming to the sacrifice part, to make your mark on the witch initiation, you are required to sacrifice three virgins during three full moons.
I know that the Alpha of Moonsglow pack betrothed you to his son, so you will get a wolf. But destiny had something else in store. That same mate, now the Alpha himself, will erase your wolf completely.
You will slowly wither away and die if you don't accept your true destiny of being a witch.
To make the sacrifice, you need to open the book to page thirteen and read out the red ink text out loud, three times, then say I ( your full name; which is Aria Elaine Moonstone Crystalwitch), give you this sacrifice and in return, you give me everlasting beauty and youth.
Once you say this, you have to look into the bowl that stands beside the alter. You will see Elaine, (but you already know that ) and you shall take the blood of you sacrifice and pour it into the goblet, and once again recite the text three times, before consuming it.
Aria, you have to do this while the moon is shining on the alter. Not before, not after. While the moon shines on the alter.
I know Aria, your mind is still stuck on your brother. If he is alive, where is he?
How is he?
If he is out there, why is a rogue running the pack?
All these questions will be answered at the right time. But I can tell you one thing, he is closer than you think.
All the males in my bloodline share a birthmark. A crystal shape on the back of their neck that glows under the full moon.
Wait till this moon shines bright. So will his mark.
Aria, my child, being a witch comes with its own warning. Never tell your full name to anyone. Your name holds power, and it can raise you high or make you fall.
A person can put a hex on you, and if they use your real, full name, no power in the world will be able to reverse it.
Future can change depending on what happens today. Never rely on the future you see.
Never feel sympathy for the people who hurt you or hide the truth from you.
Soon, you will gain enough power to read people like an open book. There are so many ways you could use this to your advantage.
Not everything is as simple as it looks. You have to be very careful.
Child, you will find out more about us and our kind in my book. Keep the book safe, and guard it with your life.
Your great grandmother,
Elora Crystalwitch.
Tears were streaming down Arya's face. Her baby brother was alive?
She was determined to find him. But she had a question, should she tell Rodriguez?
If she does, will he willingly step down from the position of Alpha and hand the seat to her brother, or will he fight him?
Will he even genuinely look for her brother?
What if he betrays her and kills her brother before they meet?
There were so many questions running through Arya's mind, but the answers were not ever close.
As all this raced in her head, she realized something, Kimberly had to know about this! She had her parents' autopsy report, and if what the letter said is true, then the report should have stated so!
And Pete. He was the officer in charge of looking into the accident. He should have known!
Even at their funeral, the pack should have noticed that her mother didn't look pregnant.
Yes, even at seven, Arya had noticed this tiny detail. Her mother's tummy wasn't as big as it used to be. Back then, her childish brain had concluded that because her brother had died inside her mother's tummy, he had shrunken in size. Therefore, her mom's tummy looked flatter.
Thinking of it now. It didn't make sense. Dead people and animals don't shrink. They expand due to gas accumulation in their bodies.
Why didn't she think about it sooner? She was so busy in her own world that it never crossed her mind.
Her aunt and uncle kept this from her. But why? Why would they not tell her?
She needs to speak with them. Very soon.
