The prison guards came and tossed a plate into the cell. Whatever it had was now half on the floor.
"Can we meet Arya?" Marcus asked, his eyes hopeful.
"The luna doesn't want to meet you, human," the guard snarled. "Now eat up."
"We can not eat like dogs, off from the floor. Maybe you can teach us," Natalie spat.
"Oh you bloody whore! I'd watch my mouth if I were you!"
"Did I say something wrong?"
The guard, anger boiling on his face, began opening the cell door. His eyes were glowing. If he wouldn't be coming in to hurt the siblings, they would have found it amazing.
The other guard immediately pulled him aside. "Calm down, Bozo. They are our lunas family. You don't want to answer to the alfa and luna, do you?"
"You will become my bitch one day. I swear I will fuck you until you couldn't scream anymore," Bozo screamed.
By now, Marcus and Natalie realized something. These guards couldn't do anything to them. Being related to the luna comes in handy, they guessed.
Arya hadn't visited them. They were worried, but a small part in them was afraid. Afraid that she had abandoned them, but then something like this happens, and they realize that Arya hadn't betrayed them.
Suddenly, they heard screams from the other cell, a human or wolf, they couldn't tell.
He screamed his heart out, being tortured by the very guards who could not lay a finger on Natalie or Marcus.
They hadn't eaten for what seemed like years, but it was probably just a few days.
The prison guards were ruthless. They would beat up the prisoners for no reason and then laugh about it like they were telling a joke.
Today was different. Two new guards dragged a half dead body into the cell beside theirs and left her there.
"Maybe we should tell the alfa to make a new cell for humans," the first guard said.
"Yeah, or give them to us so we could have fun with them!," the second one said, and they walked out laughing.
"Hey? Hey?" Natalie said, trying to wake her up.
The prisoner looked so malnourished, Natalie could count every bone in her body. Her hair was matted, and covered more then half her face. Her clothes were tattered, and there wasn't much to hide.
The siblings felt pity on her. By the way those guards spoke, they knew for certain that she was a human. God knows what she saw that her life was now limited to these cells.
"Hey, you awake?" Marcus tried.
A groan escaped the strangers lips, answering their question.
They had some water, which they managed to slip up to her in a bowl through the bars.
As soon as the water dripped on her lips, she started drinking hungrily. It seemed that some strength returned to her, as she slowly moved her hand to the bowl.
"Tha...nk....thank you," she managed to say, her voice sounding like a broken radio.
"Who are you?"
Before the girl could say anything, they heard the huge metal door opening, and two guards walked in, speaking to the guards inside, then turned around, and their parents walked in.
Marcus and Natalie ran towards the door of the cell, calling out and crying. "Mom, dad... "
"Oh, honey," Kimberly ran to the cell.
"I'm so sorry! I should have told you everything."
"What's going on? Alfa said you know the rules. What does that even mean?"
"Honey, we don't have time. I want you to listen. There's a reason that you know about your fathers family, but not mine."
"Mom, just cut to the chase!" Natalie cried.
"Your grandparents were werewolves. They belonged to this pack, the Moonsglow pack. Aryas mother and father were also werewolves, and so was I; before I met your father."
"You mean, we're werewolves?" Marcus asked.
"No. I had to give up my wolf to be with a human, and when you both were born, your father and I did a full blood work, and you didn't have any trace of wolf DNA."
Marcus visibly sank. "Why does Arya get to be a wolf and not us."
"Because I chose my mate over my wolf." Kimberly sounded annoyed.
"Why didn't you tell us?" Natalie asked.
"Because you were humans. We had no choice. Telling would risk this," Pete gestured to them being imprisoned.
"What will happen to us now?"
"Arya and I are doing everything we can to ..." "What? Arya? She hasn't even visited us, and you're saying Arya is helping you?" Marcus and Natalie asked, surprised.
"No, no, no. You have it all wrong. She tried to come but wasn't allowed to visit you. Her mate is the alfa, and she is the luna. She can not go against him, or there will be consequences," Kimberly explained.
"Why did she choose him? For her mate?" Marcus asked
"She didn't. Her wolf did."
"Mom, you said our grandparents were werewolves from this village, so where are they now?"
"They're no more," Pete said. "Your grandma died before your mother and I met. Your grandpa died when you were young."
"Aahhh."
All four of them looked towards the other prisoner.
"A... a... "
"She's trying to say something," Marcus said.
"Really? I didn't didn't know!" Natalie said ironically.
Marcus just rolled his eyes.
"Ar...ar...y...aaa.... I...I... nee....need... I need... talk... Arya," the stranger said, her voice breaking and her breathing was heavy.
Kimberly took out her phone and took a picture of her. "Don't worry. I'll try everything I can to get her here."
The prison guards came and told Mr and Mrs Hunter that their time was over and they needed to leave with them.
"No, mom, dad, don't go!"
"Be strong. You won't be here for long." Saying that, Kimberly and Pete got up and left with the guards while the teens sobbed in their cell.
"This way," Xavier said, pointing in the opposite direction from where they came.
"But, aren't we going back to the council meeting?" Kimberly asked, confused.
"We said, 'this way'!"
They didn't have much choice, so they followed the guards. 'Please, Arya, I hope you can hear me. We're in trouble. Please, God, let Arya hear me... please, please, please.'
'Aunt Kim?'
