Dawn came the next morning; the sky burst with brilliant red. The pond nearby moved slowly due to the movements of the fish.
I opened my eyes; Killian watched me with a blank expression. I knew he was feeling upset, and the truth is, I didn't want to leave him.
But what else can I do? Leave my fate and Raika in the sect's hands to do whatever they want with us.
Killian spoke in a flat voice, "Come, I cooked breakfast."
I arched my brows and rose to a sitting position. I looked at the fire and saw cooked fish on the end of the sticks.
He passed the stick to me, and I said in return, "Thanks."
I started eating the fish and opened my eyes in amazement. "Wow, it's really good."
Killian sat next to me in silence, his side like a silent weight.
I hit his shoulder. "Hey, don't ignore me."
Killian slapped my hands away. "What do you want?"
I arched my brows. "Hey, I'm not really leaving you. You can visit me anytime."
