4. Mika has two Options
[ In the afternoon, the last hour of school, Mika goes to Adam. ]
Mika: I wanna ask you something, Adam.
Adam: Wait, what the hell, I didn't do anything. I never even saw her until now. What might it be? Yeah?
Mika: (annoyed) You took so long there.
[ Yuki, who's lying on his desk, raises his gaze just to see them. ]
Yuki: What's going on there? Socialising, I guess.
[ He lowered his gaze, drifting off to his own world of thoughts. Now, back to Adam. He gave an awkward smile to her. ]
Adam: Sorry, anyway, what is the question?
Mika: I wanna know about Yuki.
[ A few boys and Yuvaraj glance at her, then turn away as Mika looks around. Yuki raises his gaze with suspicion, mumbles. ]
Yuki: Did she say my name?
[ He woke up and leaned back on his chair. ]
Yuki: I don't think it matters.
[ Scene switches again to Adam. ]
Adam: What? Don't shout, he might hear you. Anyway, Why??
Mika: We don't have any partners yet, so Hamesh, sir, suggested we team up with him. I just want to know a bit about him.
Adam: You could have asked your friends, Why me?
Mika: Yeah, but I want to know more about him. It's always good to know more, you know.
Adam: But I still don't get why you are so focused on him.
Mika: Just curiosity…
Adam: So what do you know about him?
Mika: They said he is introverted and nice.
Adam: Yeah, also, you could trust his promise.
Mika: He has a good side, or is it an act? I want to know about his past, that's why I'm asking you, of all people.
Adam: (smiles) There is more to it. I see, cuz I'm one of his trusted people. But he never trusted me. I don't know anything else. You can't know anything else unless you ask him.
Mika: Oh, I see. Thanks.
[ Mika was ready to leave, but then— ]
Adam: And one more thing.
Mika: Yeah?
Adam: How he acted with his bully... it wasn't normal. His eyes—man, they were terrifying. His whole vibe is different. I could never forget that look. Just thinking about it now — my heart's racing with fear.
Mika: That makes him suspicious again. Who is he? What is he up to? If he's human, what happened in his life? Now I'm curious, what is his story?
[ School ended, and everyone went back home. Mika was not satisfied as she couldn't find any information about him. She opened the door. ]
Mika: I'm home, Mom.
[ She said with a flat voice. ]
Harini(Mika's mother): What happened? You don't sound like yourself.
Mika: It's not a big deal, Mom.
Harini: But you don't look like it.
Mika: I have met someone in school…
Harini: Oh, who is it?
Mika: He's just a guy, and I have been given a choice to team up with him.
Harini: (Confused) So what's the problem?
Mika: (got serious) He is not like us. I sensed a huge negative chakra, and yet, he is a protector.
Harini: I never heard of someone like him.
Mika: He's a level 1 protector. Probably that's why we haven't heard someone like that.
Harini: He's not a demon, so why do you care?
Mika: What if he's a demon in disguise? So I tried to gather info about him. But he's pretty mysterious. I even asked his close friends.
Harini: You've an interesting journey ahead.
Mika: Yeah, I know.
Mika: (sighs) Dad would probably say trust your conscience.
Harini: Yeah…
[ Mika goes to her room. ]
Mika: I left with only one choice to find out about him—Team up with him.
[ The next day, in the dining hall, she is eating breakfast. ]
Harini: So, what're you gonna do?
Mika: Team up with him. That's the only way to figure it out.
Harini: Good luck.
[ After eating, Mika walks outdoors and puts on her shoes. ]
Mika: Bye, Mom. No school bus today… Guess I'll have to walk, huh.
Krishna: Humans created a day not to use any vehicles. And it's today.
[ In school, on the first break, Mika heads to the teacher's office and notices that Yuki and two boys are already there. ]
Mika: What is he doing here?
Adam: If you don't mind, can I take Yuki's place?
Yuvaraj(Adam's friend): Adam, you can't go around changing teams. We're not on good terms.
Krishna: He was Yuki's bully.
Hamesh: Your team has decided you can't change it.
Mika: I would team up with Yuki, sir.
Yuki: (annoyed) It's annoying.
Hamesh: Then that settles it. I hope it goes well. I don't have to worry about them. We haven't encountered any demons. I have a bad feeling about this. I hope everything is alright. Good luck, Yuki.
