Cherreads

Chapter 58 - In Masanori's Stead.

Masanori went searching for his missing friend, uncertain if that word still applied anymore.

Asking anyone where the hermit of the Alpha dorm had gone was moot, as many students might not even recognize him if shown a picture. Asking the homeroom wasn't even on the board: he showed up maybe twice a month for five minutes, and the sheer mention of his name sent Masanori's first period teacher into a tirade that lasted twenty minutes.

He asked the student council head teacher Sunaeda-Sensei, but his response was dismissive and shrewd.

"When he does get back, tell him to at least come to meetings when I call. He should learn he can't get away with this in the real world!"

"When did you last see him?"

"Yesterday. He ran off the moment he saw me. Seemed in a hurry. How strange that he's ignoring you, that young man is going off the deep end-"

Yukihiro made his hasty retreat while avoiding his sensei's lecture.

'Maybe he really did run off to the town to play hooky. I should ask the main gate...'

Masanori suddenly stopped walking to his next half-chance destination.

Of course. Soon, he walked into the school's main security office, asking Igoto-Sensei if he had seen Yukihiro. For once he was sober, and looked miserable because of it.

"I couldn't say, now go before my headache gets worse. Tell him to fix the logging errors in the system as well or it'll be my head!"

"You haven't seen him them?"

"Of course not! That young man comes and goes like the common cold. He only comes around when the weather gets cold. At least its good for buying a drink to get warm, now its getting too warm!"

Masanori didn't try to parse his words, just old man nonsense.

"A common cold is more consistent than he is though, wouldn't you think?" Masanori pointed out, earning him a small laugh.

"Atta boy. Say, have you asked your father? Even that boy can't leave school grounds without permission for too long."

'I can't. He can't know.' Masanori thought.

Masanori would never consider it. But, even if hated to do so, he was running out of leads. But at the same time, it was just too risky. If he asked and he didn't know, they would both pay the price if he did leave the school.

But, did he care if Yukihiro got in trouble? Maybe it was deserved.

While he was distracted, Igoto sensei had pulled it his phone.

"He says he wants to see you. What a right young man, he never leaves me on read, like a proper boss!"

It was obvious who he was talking about He had texted his father! Igoto-Sensei gave him a thumbs up like he had done him a favor. Masanori's lip twitched away with a terrified smile.

'Shit. Well there's no choice now.'

Masanori had to remedy the situation. But unexpectedly, he didn't have to.

"I know where he is," His father gave him a look. "Why do you want to know?"

When Masanori had shaken off his shock, he collected himself to answer vaguely.

"He's my friend."

"Hm. Then maybe you can tell me what about his condition that gave him the request for allotted time away?"

'Why is he testing me? This is bad...'

None of his nerves showed in his face, but his hand gripped under the desk.

"What about his condition?"

His father leaned forward and seemed contemplative. Masanori wondered where he went wrong.

But then his father spoke, matter of factly with no sign of reprimand.

"Hirabayashi Yukihiro-san had come into contact with a highly concentrated form of contraband that has caused rather severe early rut symptoms. He asked to be put into the recovery sector until they subsided."

"He's at the recovery center?" Masanori echoed.

His father leaned away.

"I am impressed. You had managed to handle this situation on your own without any outside assistance. Yukihiro had already given me your report, but it appears he tried to keep this from you as you had already reported there were no symptoms. Since you not only aided in dealing with this situation without a single adult's assistance, I'll grant you the favor of going to visit him for a time, though he should return in a few days."

"That's... thank you." He stood, bowed to then leave. He was but one step out the door when his father left one final comment.

"You seem more focused lately... but try not to fall back into old habits. You're becoming more refined."

That was all he said. Masanori left, feeling a little more conflicted than when he entered.

'Maybe Yuki only said that to avoid me? He had to go out of his way to paint me in a good light and cover up the entire Omega incident into just a contraband issue. But how would he fake the symptoms?'

Masanori decided he would go see him tomorrow and find out.

...

The next day Ren seemed to have a normal schedule. That was what Naoto got as he once again went out of his way to watch where he went.

That is until Naoto lost sight of Ren entirely.

Naoto didn't want to trail Ren everyday. He was only meant to keep an eye, and that meant he only observed him whenever he ended up in his sights, or taking a longer route just to check on his current location, small things that Naoto had already sorta gotten used to when he still believed that Ren had bad intentions.

But then yesterday happened, and not wheneber he wasn't un his line of sight he got a agonizing itch in the back of his head, like somewhere sonething must be going horribly wrong.

'Not even. Tamura's up to something and he might cause more trouble than he bargained for. I can't talk to him because it can't get back to Hakura. Tamura's too peceptive. And too loyal...'

Ren stopped where he was. Suddenly he slapped his hands against both of his cheeks. His checks both went red, and he kept walking like nothing happened, only moving more stiffly than before.

'What the hell. He's batshit crazy. Too bad that wasn't a wake up call. Should I make him stop before he hurts himself and Masa blames me?'

Seeing his red face made Naoto flinched. The image of Ren running the track looking ready to fall over from exhaustion appeared in his mind.

Naoto pinched his nose as he felt his ears reddening. How did he get a nose bleed just from watching him run a little? It happened so suddenly he didn't even register it until his ears heard the drippings hitting the grass! It was like he was enchanted.

Something was seriously wrong here. He had to have something, some weird experimental drug he was taking to make every facet of his dna so abnornally tantalizing. He had ran around the track so much that he had surely unleashed some kind of ordorless toxin onto the field. He should get someone to assess the area. That kind of proof would get him suspended for sure...

He groaned. No, even Masanori was convinced, they would look into the footage for today. An Alpha student stalking an omega would only be ignored up to the point that there were no crimes involved. Even if the crime was from the omega himself, how would it look in a court case. He dug himself into a corner.

He couldn't even fathom what would become of his life if anyone found out what he did after the track. He couldn't even think about what he did. All for what? A hunch?

Nothing ever even happened with Tamura that day. He would tell, Tamura always got this certain smile after he had won over his target. He might just be messing around becaude he found Ren was funny. Either could go for a guy like him. And he hadn't seen Tamura all day, so whatever was going on wasn't some persistent thing.

He needed a sex partner. Betas were easy to sneak into the dorm, even after the party incident. When this stalking task for Masanori was over he'd ask if that Yumeda was interested again, which he knew he would be. He had to get omegas out of his head.

What he hated more than anything was omegas. How the clung to you, like how this one clung to his thoughts like fly paper.

A part of him wished that he actually could smell his pheromones through the vent like it was designed to. If he did then he could have let a load off, and he might be free from this feeling like he had to break free. But all he had was the image of his bare skin, and the memory of his scent from before. As if that was enough, to-

Naoto slapped himself in the face with both palms. He lowered buried hid head into his current bush hiding spot in shame.

He was perverted. He was losing his mind. Takeshita Akira was like a poison.

'I'm doing this for Masanori. That idiot never likes any one! Even if I have to do his stalking, it'll be worth it! ...Damn it, I hate this. I should be helping students with actual issues. But now I'm helping Masa with his pet project because I feel guilty. This is stupid as hell.'

He missed how it was before he found out. It was simple and easy to hate him. The omega that was baiting his friend into heartbreak and devastation. An omega that was the enemy. At least then, Naoto only worried when Ren interacted with Alphas, so there wasn't ever much to find.

But now, Naoto was conscious of Ren's past behavior, how he was incredibly prone to doing dangerous things whenever the mood seemed to strike him. Naoto had to watch him constantly, throughout the day, or he'd for sure crawl his way into disaster.

Was this how Masanori felt? It was starting to make sense.

Masanori himself had just taken a step out of the school, the driver pulling up exactly on schedule.

"Young master."

The morning passed quickly by.

It was midday study, as their free period turned into. Ren had left study early and returned to his dorm. It wasn't out of the ordinary, and Naoto was starting to feel ridiculous to have followed him all the way there. The omegas would handle him themselves.

He was just about to leave, thinking of grabbing a snack as he went when, to his surprise Ren came right back out of the dorm.

'Where is he going now? Did he just need to get something? Then he's heading back to study maybe. Or his class early?'

But Ren didn't head to any study room, and climbed a floor higher than, causing Naoto's nerves to tense. 'It might just be nothing... but it's better to be safe than sorry.'

And so Naoto was there, poorly trailing a small omega quick as lighting, up the stairs and to a part of the school that Ren should not be near at a time like this.

Ren stopped for a moment and took a swift turn into a lone hall. He crouched down and he opened his bag. He looked through his notebook, keeping note of where he had written where every camera was. This was an important operation that couldn't afford a single mistake after all.

Naoto looked around the hall and found he was gone. Struggling, he blatantly looked into the classes that had just returned to session, panic stirring.

'It must be his small body that makes him so agile.' Naoto scowled. 'I didn't know how you could be more of a headache after last time, but you've really managed it!'

Ren finished charting his path then made a hasty retreat down the hall. He didn't know he wss being followed, but he guessed it considering yesterday. He had to be quick and unprecitable as he went.

It was unfortunate that he ended up running into a surprising face.

"S-Shino? Why aren't you in class?"

"Should I not be saying the same thing to you?" Shino replied, rubbing his nose with some congestion in his throat. Ren noticed his eyes were a little red. Right away he got mad on his behalf, shaking a fist.

"That bastard Ruota!! What did he do this time!?"

Shino rubbed his nose and looked away. "I can't be that obvious."

"Who else can upset the mighty Shino than that weirdo jerkwad? You're usually so level-headed, but every time he's around he makes you look really worn out. Just say the words Shino-kun! I'll find a way to take down massive bully Alphas like him as my first priority!"

Shino looked to the floor, then looked back up with a smile.

"That's alright. Though I think I need to stop letting him get under my skin so much."

"Why don't you just keep him out of the clubroom? If he persists, report him."

"Its not so easy... and, I like him around sometimes."

"What...?" Ren was completely taken aback. For what reason?

As if hearing his confusion Shino explained.

"I know he's a jerk, but he respects me more than most people. And sometimes he's more than a jerk and I think he's not so bad..."

Shino looked away again, and Ren noticed he almost looked embarrassed by his own words.

Ren backed away.

'W-What... what did he DO to Shino!?'

Ren couldn't understand what he was saying at all. Who would willingly hang out with an asshole!?

But then an image flashed in his mind of Naoto. Even a jerk like him was capable of kindness, like the time he saved him from the books falling.

But a jerk Alpha was still a jerk Alpha, so Ren shook his head hard.

"Don't fall for it Shino. You're stronger than them."

'Well maybe not as a beta, but there's a lot of strength in the ordinary!'

Shino nodded, but clarified. "I don't need any help. He doesn't know it, but he's exactly where I want him to be."

Ren nodded with a smile, briefly optimistic about what he said. But still looking at the rim of pink around his eyes, he was maybe not so sure.

"Well, if you say so..."

"Oh, are you doing anything for summer break? My cousin is renting a beachhouse."

"Sure I guess. If we can ever get there." Ren answered half-heartedly. He had little confidence they would actually go. He was sure it would be cancelled last minute and some excuse made to have all the students stay the entire break. There was no way the school would let them roam free with all their crazy powers!

"Just be sure to talk to me before the end of the last day, okay?"

Shino left, and Ren made sure to reorient before proceeding with avoiding the cameras.

Naoto peeked from behind a corner. He had caught up to him halfway through his conversation with Shino. This time, he followed him with his fullest concentration. He was definitely up to something with how he was moving.

There came the school's chime. Noon study was over. Naoto watched Ren stopped for a moment. He glanced down one hallway, then he kept going, picking up his speed.

'Where are you going so fast...'

Ren was now in front of a room, from there Naoto couldn't read which one. He had a pretty good understanding of where every important room was, so him not knowing this one meant that it was probably off limits to students.

Ren glanced around nervously, signaling further to Naoto that what he was doing was nefarious in nature. Naoto gritted his teeth. 'Why can't this damn Omega just stay still for a while? He's really a massive pain in the ass.'

Naoto glanced back behind the corner again, and what he saw set off immediate alarms in his head. Ren had pulled something out of his bag. Something long, and... metallic.

'Is that... is that a fucking pipe? How the hell does he still have that?!'

Then he remembered. The construction site for the new gym. Somehow, did he keep it this entire time?

Ren held it awkwardly, then looked to the door in front of him. He gripped the pipe, then held it up in a readying stance.

'No No No!' Naoto mentally panicked.

Ren stared at the door nervously, but his resolve was still strong. It would make a massive scene, but he was sure this place was camera free, and filled with great potential. It made sense If he was going to find information on himself, he would have to go through student records. With missing spies in action, Ren felt now was the perfect time to try to break in. Here, he just needed to get one scrap of physical evidence.

Physical evidence meant, he could see Masanori again with confidence. Then maybe he could help him.

He raised the bar, ready to swing-

A hand grasped the handle tightly, preventing Ren from moving it further. His eyes snapped to the culprit.

"Naoto-kun?!" Ren said agast. Naoto looked at the bar still with a bit of panic sweeping into relief before his eyes settled onto Ren. The anger Ren felt then from Naoto could shift mountains to his will.

"Na...Naoto..." All the resolve he had built up to do this was gone in a flash. 'Shit. He's really pissed...'

"What the hell are you thinking?!" Naoto roared. He snatched the pole from Ren roughly, but Ren only stood there frozen.

"It was... well..." Ren had the right answers, but the way Naoto's presence felt like a tidal wave about to envelop him made his mouth clam up so much the right words couldn't form.

Naoto's entire form was consumed by his destructive aura.

"This is more than you endangering yourself trespassing, this is breaking and entering! You can't do these things, Takeshita! For god sake, what the hell is wrong with you!?"

"I...I..." Ren bit his lip and let his arms slump in defeat. "You're right..."

Naoto growled. "Well at least if you understand that then-" Naoto froze. Ren had started to shake, and when he looked back up at Naoto slowly, tears were forming in his eyes.

Naoto stiffened. 'Shit...' Naoto realized he had taken it too far with his pheromones. Though he was aware that Ren was an Omega, it never really felt that way, and his instincts had acted rashly.

Naoto immediately forced his pheromones to subside and carefully approached.

"Hey Take-" He cleared his throat. "K-Koyamada-san. Listen, let's just calm down, alright. S-So stop sniffling like that."

Ren was already trying that, and didn't appreciate Naoto's comment. He scowled. "Shut up. I'm...fine. I didn't..." Ren didn't want to admit that Naoto's sudden dangerous aura left him quaking in his boots. This, Ren thought, must be the true power of the mate bond. He wiped his tears and tried to settle his shoulders and breathing.

Naoto wasn't sure what to do. When had he ever had to comfort an omega? It seemed like he only kept screwing things up with this one. Naoto scowled once more at his own incompetence, then approached Ren better.

He put his hands on his shoulders to steady them, and tried to administer a calming pheromone for him. He would never say, but it was the exact kind of pheromone would use for any nervous partner, and a skill he was highly skilled in especially. It was the first time he had given Ren the luxury, but the time felt desperate enough to warrant it.

He waited for a bit for Ren's shoulders to relax before speaking again.

"Feel better yet? Didn't mean to go so hard, I'm not used to your weak disposition."

Ren's nose flared. "My what? I'm not weak!"

Even if he was, but he wasn't set on letting people like Naoto call him that.

Naoto held in his amused laughter. "Of course you are, little Omega. Weaker than an average Omega at that. Don't you remember how you shook when you got out of the lake? It's your poor little omega body that's to blame."

Ren stood staring at him in silence. Naoto raised an eyebrow before Ren spoke again.

"Don't call me that. I have a name, Naoto-kun."

Naoto frowned. "Right right, of course. It's uh...-"

But he stalled. He couldn't quite commit to it when prompted this directly. The least he could do is ask nicely if he insisted on an entirely new name.

"If you have that much trouble with it, then you don't have to keep trying," Ren said stiffly, glaring even harder. "It's annoying."

Ren was feeling especially annoyed now, because this was his second time messing with his plans.

Naoto scowled. "Well forgive me for getting confused by the man with two last names! Really, what's wrong with Takeshita as a family name? You'd think you'd want the cooler sounding one."

Ren glared. Naoto took a second to realize that in his eyes, he just insulted his family name. He turned away.

"A-Alright. Sorry."

"The problem is that it's not my real name." Ren muttered, quiet. He then became louder. "So if you're going to keep having problems and giving me an annoying nickname like 'little omega', can't you just call me Ren?"

Naoto looked down at Ren speculatively. "...are you sure? Me and you on a first name basis..."

"Y-Yeah well I call Imada-kun Masanori, a-and he doesn't seem to mind," Ren grew hot. He wouldn't explain when or why on his life.

"S-So can we just get the formalities out of the way and get rid of the confusion. Call me Ren."

Naoto for some reason felt hesitant to do so. He wanted to gain some distance with him after everything he's done, and this felt the opposite of doing so. Eventually, Naoto sighed.

"Alright... R-Ren-kun."

Ren was silent in response, and Naoto wasn't feeling up to looking at him anyway, so he turned his blushing face towards s9kething else. He glanced at the room he had been trying to break into moments ago.

'This is a room for school records, isn't it? I guess he's looking for answers too. Why doesn't he just ask Hirabayashi or Imada since they're close?'

"Um. Ren-kun, what were you-" When Naoto turned his head to ask, he was suddenly hit with a strong scent.

Ren's expression was obscured and the scent light, but as if in response to Naoto's reaction the scent suddenly expanded and thickened until there was no space unfilled by it.

Naoto's expression slacked. It was so sudden he hadn't had time to process what was going on. How could he? Where on earth did this come from? His heat came out of nowhere.

"Ren-kun?" Naoto finally regained his senses. He shook Ren's shoulders once. "Hey! Ren?" This time, Naoto's mind was in a rush of confusion. 'What the hell? This is clearly... but it's twice as strong as last time! How the hell did this sneak up on me?!'

"Hey, Ren-kun?" This time, Naoto's voice came out slurred, and more senses returned.

'He's on his dam heat, I have to get him out of here. Luckily this part of the school is pretty empty this time of day...' Naoto glanced around, trying to recall the places that the omega safe closets were located.

Inconviently, this part of the school was left mostly untouched from the omega renovations. For that reason omegas weren't ever given classes close to there. In fsct, it was mostly Alpha filled classes. Naoto would have wondered if this was on purpose if he didn't know better. He had to go track one down.

"Come on, Ren-kun... this isn't safe."

Naoto moved his hands off of Ren's shoulders and used one to grasp onto his wrist. It was burning up. Naoto led Ren quickly, trying to keep his head straight and ignore the ever increasing, conscious awareness of the person that his hand was making contact with.

'Come on, focus. We should be almost...' Naoto turned a hall and was met with a small crowd of students. Naoto scowled heavily without realizing. His mind only made out one word.

'Alphas.'

"Akagi-san?" One of them spoke. "So you found the source of the smell? A few classes that way had to evacuate because of it. What kind of Omega releases such a strong scent?"

Naoto wasn't in the right mind now. Sensing other Alphas he had immediately started to become guarded, and was ready to issue a warning growl when they spoke. They seemed like good students with no intent to go after Ren, though his scent was rich and sweet...

Naoto tried to keep his head knowing this in the back of his mind, but all he could really see was a group of Alphas in front of him, and his instincts were yelling at him that they were a threat. Because even if they showed no bad intent, their arousal was obvious.

Naoto stood there unsure of what to do, and the group's eyes shifted to Ren behind him. "Hey, I know him, isn't he..."

Naoto's mental stalemate was raging onwards. Suddenly, Ren began to clutch at Naoto's from behind, tightly.

A roaring wave of pheromones reached Naoto, and a decision was made.

The growl that escaped his mouth was deeper than he ever thought possible, and the threatening aura he let out left the Alphas in a state of confusion or fear, with no in-between.

"A-Akagi-san?" The strongest of the group spoke. "Are you ok?"

Naoto only growled again, more warning than threat. Before the group could say another word Naoto latched onto Ren tighter and turned into a different hallway, away from the shell shocked group.

Naoto finally found a safe closet. But by the point he had managed to pinpoint one out, Ren had started to collapse and Naoto had to carry him. He placed him inside the room, on the mat upon the floor. Without thinking he closed the door behind him, unaware of the kind of rule he was violating.

Ren was in a safe space, and his sudden protective instincts tone down. He sighed "Damn it... Ren-kun." Naoto felt Ren's head. He was burning up, as expected. 'Someone else... I need to find...' Naoto knew he couldn't stay sane long enough to administer any medication to Ren, he needed to go calm down, then find a beta or another omega. That's what Masanori would do... Naoto turned to get up and leave.

Two clammy hands latched onto Naoto's shirt. He stared at Ren.

"Leave..." Ren huffed, breath heavy, almost labored.

"Don't...leave. Nao...Naoto."

Naoto's heart started to pound with such intensity he couldn't hear what came out of his mouth next. Something like "why?"

Ren gave Naoto a glazed look, staring at him all over. "I...you." His voice was so slurred that he forgot to even say a few words, but Naoto understood what he meant plenty. Even more so, when Ren acted first.

Ren's hand snaked to Naoto's back, pulling him in. The moment their lips touched, Naoto's last lingering threads of his reluctance and sanity were snapped away. He was dazed, for a moment, but he soon Naoto pressed down hard on Ren's soft lips, embracing them fully.

They were even sweeter than he had imagined. It was so sweet, but it wasn't nauseating like it normally was.

But he could taste how hungry he was. His stomach lurched, and he took an unsteady breath. There was a gap as he pulled away trying to steady the spinning in his head, but Ren pushed himself back in.

Naoto didn't fight. He found then that he was hungry too.

He bit once on his top lip, and Ren's body shook. Naoto's hands moved to Ren's sides, feeling his thighs slightly before lifting him onto his lap.

Ren's hands moved across Naoto's back desperately, eventually crawling up to his neck that he wrapped around tightly.

Naoto's chest grew tight, like his heart was doing flips and beating against his ribcage as it danced. He could feel a moan leap into his own throat like it never had before.

'Fuck. I knew it...'

He was a sorcerer. Omegas tasted good but never this good. When he had tasted him before it was never this good. He wasn't so spurred by pheromones, he had a strong resistance to the influence of his instincts.

But with him, he never felt so out of his mind from it. It was maddening. Was this what he did to Masanori? It all started to make sense. Where would more take him?

Their kiss grew deeper, and Naoto forced his tongue. Ren moaned softly, and Naoto growled with excitement.

Naoto placed Ren on the floor and started to undo buttons on his shirt, feeling up his chest. He started to suck on his neck all over, taking in the aromatic scent there in delight.

He touched his nipples and felt the way Ren's body shivered in response. He reveled in the way his throat vibrated from his moans, and when Ren whispered his name once more as Naoto started to suck on his chest.

Naoto felt like kneeling over and dying right then from the pleasure of just hearing it. His voice. He really had a nice one.

And a cute face. Big eyes and a cute nose and very bitable little chin. He wouldn't do it though, the mark would leave tok big a mark. He had his self control.

'Everywhere else is fair game. But first I should test how sensitive he is...'

His hand fondled down over Ren's crotch, feeling the package inside twitch at the slightest touch. He rubbed and knobbed and took in every tremor that passed through his skin. He moaned like he could barely breathe between each gasp of air.

"N-No, s-Stop! I-I can't-!"

Naoto kissed him again to stop his wailing. He didn't like it when they played pretend. There was nothing that said he wasn't enjoying it. He waited until he calmed down before he kept fondling. His hand pulled underneath his pants. Wet and soaking in his fingers, he felt more. He rubbed more. His tongue down his neck as Ren's breath on his neck quickened.

His body convulsed, and Ren's nails pressed down into his back. Even through his back, Naoto felt the trembling, hot skin digging in, then releasing, sliding down as the wave receded away.

Naoto licked his lips as a scent washed out he could practically taste in the air. He just came, and this was how much he liked it. How could anyone like it this much?

What the hell. Holding back felt like a distant dream. He should have taken Yukihiro's pushing long ago. He felt like he was breathing for the first time in air this rich, every breath like a spoonful of honey.

His teeth ached. He wanted something to bite into.

He clenched down on his jaw and fought the urges. A part of him couldn't help but lick and nibble at his collarbone softly. Sympathetically, like an apology.

He pleasured the omega enough. Naoto already felt close to bursting himself. He started to pull down Ren's pants. It was a sticky, flooded city inside. His hand gripped the backside, intending to pull up. But the single touch he had made to his lower side made him twitch so hard, something broke through.

"hah...N-Naoto? What...what are you..." Ren's words still came out breathless, but the pheromones in the air started to shift with confusion in place of desire. Naoto paused briefly, but did not stop entirely. He bit down on one of Ren's nipples again, inciting another moan.

"Naoto-kun?" This time his voice was more clear. Naoto growled and looked back up at Ren's face. He looked completely perplexed, his eyes wide, yet his expression was still dazed and his face feverishly red. Naoto stopped to look at him, and Ren spoke again.

"Naoto-kun... wh-what are you doing?"

Naoto twitched. Then his mouth lifted into a smile. Ren's words were phrased like a question, but under the surface there was no confusion at all. He knew, so why was he acting confused? His hand flicked his left nipple.

'!!'

Ren lurched, a shiver ran through him, and he was stunned back into silence.

Naoto did pull back from his pants however, and kept going at his chest. He licked and kissed every which way, his reaction was... adorable. Could he get him going like that again?

While he prodded, Ren laid there, only shaking. He in fact WAS confused, just not about what was going on. He wasn't blind. He wasn't deaf, he wasn't numb to the aching and throbbing, heat and wetness and strobing flashes of pleasure.

He was confused how the hell he even got into this situation! What was going on and why was he like this, again?! And why, why was his body so weak to his touch right now?

This had to be a dream. Like one of those vivid fantasies he had last time he was in heat. Naoto in a full realized form giving him every touch of his hot skin he craved. But it just felt too real to be a delusion. He wasn't crazy!

So why?! He didn't even have the strength to move his head...

Naoto growled. Despite the shifting tides coming from Ren, Naoto felt he'd gone too far to stop. In fact, the change made him angry. Those sweet pheromones needed to come back.

He kissed into his hand, his eyes burning intensely. "What does it look like? I'm... giving you what you want."

His breathing was heated, his eyes full of desire, taking in every inch of him.

Ren shrunk away from those eyes. What was going on?

"W-What..." His voice shook, now full of fear.

His terror made Naoto pause, but he was too lost. His grip of his pants tightened and he yanked them all in one swift move. They flew over his head and landed behind him.

"You're seriously soaked. I'll take good care of that, but I'll try not to put it in all the way. I feel like I might get stuck."

Ren's eyes widened.

"F-Fuck... no way!"

"You're so cute. Don't lie to me and tell me how you like it. I'll go anywhere. I want to be all over you-"

Ren bent his knee from under him and kicked. At least he tried to. But not only was it weak from his current disposition, it was easily caught by Naoto like stopping a swinging door.

Naoto looked at his leg. White flushed skin.

He bit into his lower calf. A small playful bite. He then smiled as he watched his toes writhe underneath his socks.

Ren bit his tongue. It was all he could do to stop the compulsive desire to do more. His body had stopped working right. Inside he was screaming so much he couldn't make a single sound.

Why would Naoto do that?! And why... why did his body twitch like that when he did?!

When Ren's body had calmed down, Naoto's eyes gleamed. He smiled again.

He found one. His scent returned for a few seconds more too, so it was a double feature for the senses. But just like that they grew small again. But this time he was getting excited.

'Ha, he really had been playing hard to get all this time. Find the spot makes him release his pheromones for a prize. A prize...'

Ren saw his sly and even moreso lustful smile and a terrible chill gave way. He quivered. He covered his eyes and, he started to cry.

'This is it! I'm being tortured! I pushed too far and I'm being put back through this hell! It has to be something-! Wh-What if I don't come out the same after this?!'

"Naoto-kun, pl-please...! I, I don't want-"

"Shhh..."

Naoto shushed, leaned in and kissed his forehead. "Relax okay? We've barely gotten started. I'm not looking to hurt you. I'll do whatever makes you happy. Hmm? Just go back to before." His lips linger over his ears. "More of this. More..."

He planted more kisses against his cheek, traveling steadily down to his neck in the midst his words continued to reassure Ren. His hands moved from his chest down to his waist, grabbing and pulling him closer.

"I'll do anything. Don't cry... I want to reach the fifinal prize. Will you let me have it Ren? Hmm. Ren-kun..."

His low, affectionate rumbling in his voice was soothing, like a cat purring. The scent in the air as well was calming, shutting down the most erratic part of Ren from completely losing it.

And yet, Ren's least erratic part was still sobering. He was still convinced none of this made sense, and the whiplash of feeling panicked to calm only made the feeling stronger.

'Its mind control, again! No no no no no-!!'

"I... I... N-NO!"

Ren gripped Naoto's shoulders with newfound strength, and-!

THONK!

His head collided with Naoto's. Naoto froze there, stunned. Then he slid back. That was the last straw, and his annoyance overtook his arousal.

"What the... fuck. What the hell?" He mumbled. He looked at Ren, shaking and tears coming so fast he looked like he could drown in them.

"You're shit! I'm... I'm not doing this! I'm just.... I'm just not!! I thought you were good! But I can't trust any Alpha! I can't trust even Masanori!! Naoto-kun, I hate you!!"

His words were slurred and disorganized sounding to Naoto, but he got the picture.

With that, Naoto's senses returned once more. He moved off of Ren like he'd become an electric fence.

Fuck. What was he doing? What had he done?

He turned away from Ren, left a mess half naked on the floor. He walked over to the nearby cabinet, Naoto produced his student council key and clumsily opened it. He grabbed the suppressor and a bottle of pills inside. He walked over to the still dazed looking Ren and without further warning jabbed the surpressor into his arm.

"O-Ow." Ren winced.

Naoto took the bottle, opening it aggressively, then jammed the pill into Ren's fingers. He then glared at him.

"Take it."

Ren stared at it. "What? N-No..."

"You heard me, damn it. Are you stupid?"

Ren blinked. Even with his just recent outburst, he was still on his heat. He was so distracted by the person in front of him. But suddenly, the urges that spurred him on before felt far away. Locked up. He only vaguely felt a desire, that he easily shoved aside.

Naoto was asking him a question. A pill? Was that good or bad again? If it was from him, wasn't it bad?

But he was too out of it to argue, so he was honest.

"Yeah..."

"What the fuck. Damn it..." Naoto clicked his tongue in frustration. He took the pill from Ren, then placed it inside his own mouth.

Then, with utter speed and efficiency, Naoto kissed Ren deeply, their tongues interlocking in contact with the pill like a passing of a torch. Using his tongue, Naoto forced Ren to swallow and the pill went along with it. Naoto immediately released Ren and strode over to the door.

"Don't leave this room, understand me? Don't... don't, fucking leave." And Naoto closed the door back with an intentional intensity. Ren looked in astonishment.

...

Masanori arrived at the small sector located a few hills down from the main school building, but still within the mountain ranges.

It wasn't a part of the school that was well known, and not even close to being advertised as an aspect of the academy's facilities.

Because it was fairly outdated. In the past, In cases where an Alpha's rut became too much of hindrance to the rest of the students or faculty, they were sent to stay here in whatever time span is needed for them to return to a more normal state. Since technology over the years had advanced such measures were uncalled for, as many of the worst symptoms of ruts in even the lowest grade of Alpha were suppressed.

There were times when it was needed. For example, an Alpha that hadn't had his rut since middle school suddenly attacking an Omega student in the first term of the school year.

Masanori didn't even take a step in the direction of the room he had stayed, and headed straight for where he was told Yukihiro would be.

He found him sitting on his lavish bed, on a laptop as usual. Right away, Yukihiro just waved him in, waved like usual and like he wasn't supposed to be having rut symptoms.

"So you were faking it." Masanori huffed, feeling like a fool for being even a little worried about his lying friend.

"I was not! I really did feel ill... the first day. But you know what they say, you can't keep a good Alpha down!"

"What's good about you?" Masanori muttered. But upon further inspection, the signs were there. The room even when clearly recently aired out had a thickness of pheromones only created by an over producing Alpha. The sheets were messier than Yukihiro would have them be, and he looked in a rough state from his hair to the bags under his eyes. Not to mention the scattered bit of tissues around. It told Masanori that he was in a bad state even just this morning, but he looked fine now.

"So... what happened?"

Even if he was still upset, he couldn't help being concerned.

Yukihiro stretched his arms above his head, turning his head upwards to find Masanori's face looking down. "The stuff used in that paint mixture was high dosage. I think they really did intend to make us all so horny we'd turn on ourselves, like a bunch of starving wolves trapped in a pit. We should watch out for them in the future."

"Should we be worried about other students?" Masanori asked.

"It's fine, Ryusei did the checkups already. I was just especially perceptible to it because I don't get out much."

"You mean that you forget to bathe enough or air out your room. I thought you were a crazy genius, genius."

"You're slinging insults at a sick person you know."

Masanori rolled his eyes, but something did bother him.

'Why did no one include me? I guess I made my decision when I decided to cover up the incident rather than punish them.'

"Well if you're feeling better why haven't you driven back to the school yet?"

"Juust wanted to make sure that I got everything."

"Everything? What thing?"

"Come and see..."

Masanori walked over to the screen and sat beside him.

"Not a bad opportunity, I had to take it. I was busy looking. Looking into him. You know, Akira."

"What...?"

"While the school's security on the records have been made nearly impossible to hack... all of those files are also here for the medical staff, and the cyber security here is practically ancient."

"That's amazing! So you finally have some details on Akira?"

"That's the thing... I can't find them."

"What do you mean, you can't find his records? But you just said?"

Yukihiro shrugged sadly at Masanori's question. "It's as I said. Nothing. Not on the computer, not in the files."

Masanori's brow furrowed. He was unsettled by this. It's not as if there was a separate place for records to be, he had been through them before, the entire current student body should be categorized in that room. Takeshita was a student of the school, so his name should have been there.

"Did you try Koyamada Ren?"

"Did you think I wouldn't? Nothing! I even tried a combination of the names, but besides some previous students that also went by Ren as well, there wasn't anything."

"Perhaps my father had thought ahead, and hid the files?"

Yukihiro rapped his fingers over his crossed arms in rhythm, looking contemplative. "If that's the case, I could probably find traces of it on the computer, but it would take a while. And depending on how long ago it was hidden, I still might not find anything...." He held his words especially long, and Masanori stared at him with an intensity not that unfamiliar.

"...what are you hiding?"

Yukihiro grinned. "Ah, I wanted to hold it out a little longer! You got me. I didn't find his records or traces of any hidden files, buuuut..."

Yukihiro did some rapid typing on the computer and a new screen showed up.

"I did find something interesting. Logs for several IP addresses that have logged into this system. In newer systems they would be too encrypted to grab before the firewall hit, but not here. And I found that there was ONE address that shouldn't be here."

Masanori's eyes scanned over the string of numbers across the white screen with no hope of understanding the exact meaning, but did notice that it was a list.

"But there's like five. How did you notice-?"

"I tracked all of them individually of course. One is of course this mountain and three others were different educational institutes in Japan. The kind that keeps track of regulations and testing and stuff. But one was found in a residential area in Hokkaido. It didn't fit any of the others at all."

"You're saying..."

"Some outside part was looking into our school records. And I have a feeling they didn't know they left a trace on this system. I can block this IP address up against our firewall and see what happens with it."

"Could there be someone hiding his identity from us?" Masanori muttered. Or, were they hoping too much? They had no proof, after all.

Masanori sighed. "Perhaps it's for the best we don't know..."

Yukihiro looked at Masanori in surprise. "Honestly Nori? Quitting already when the mystery's become so tantalizing? Now I just have to know, just who is this Takeshita Akira, or who prefers to be called Koyamada Ren. This is far too intriguing!"

Masanori gave Yukihiro a refrained look. "I don't know what you're saying here. I don't even know what to think of you lately."

"What's the big deal? I don't think I've done anything that bad."

Masanori stood up and closed the laptop. His face was dead serious. "What about when you sent Akira to Watanabe Nagi?"

"Oh..." his words tampered off, but there was nothing to read on his face to tell what he was thinking.

"Well, that was just to get him in one spot."

Masanori twisted the sleeve of his jacket, trying to hold it in. He failed.

"What if something happened!?"

Yukihiro didn't react to his outburst, only kept his eyes on the screen. He was abnormally distant.

"It wouldn't. Nagi isn't the type actually, if anyone paid attention, and they had an agreement so he was going to talk to him anyway. If I locked him in a room I imagined he would try to break out so I just brought him where he would stay willingly.

"That... could have gone so wrong! I thought you were smart. But this...!"

"Come on Nori, you gotta trust me."

"I don't trust you one bit. How could you keep sports day from me?!"

Yukihiro finally turned. He stood up straighter. "You..."

Masanori turned away. His stomach felt like it was dropping into a canyon. That look confirmed it. He twisted his sleeve even more until he was beginning to twist his arm.

"I got a letter. They sent me a disc and it showed everything you didn't. What else are you keeping from me!?"

"Nori-kun..."

Masanori started to feel his stomach coming up into his throat. He felt like he might throw up.

POMP!

Something soft flew at the back of Masanori's head. It didn't hurt, and when he turned around he saw it was only a pillow.

Yukihiro threw a pillow at his head.

Masanori whirled around fill to him.

"What was that for?!"

Rather than answer, Yukihiro gave him an impatient look.

"I'm sorry. You know, I was worried how far you'd fall when it came to this omega. I didn't think jealousy over a kiss that Ryusei only made to reject Takeshita would have helped you deal with your feelings."

"I didn't ask you to help with anything! You should have told me!!"

"Didn't ask? Well too bad because I'm the most helpful person to walk this mountain. Like sure, Takeshita Akira was a cute crush I enjoyed seeing you fawn over and all, but if it led to real drama it would make everything a lot harder for you. I was going to tell you once you got over him, I swear."

'That doesn't justify pulling the wool over my eyes! Damn it, calm down...'

Masanori didn't like that. Over him? Was such a thing possible?

Maybe. It wasn't as if he knew him very well. He only liked his big personality, his cute face and amazing smile. He liked those big eyes and his incredible ability to make a mundane day the most bizarre he ever had.

He felt like he and him were not so different, and in his heart he wanted to follow behind Akira wherever his heart led him, no matter what crazy plans he had in store. But he couldn't be so bold. But distance, it only made his desire stronger, and stronger.

With what Yukihiro said and those strong feelings, he oddly began to calm down. He was right. If he had learned about it before it surely would have become a big misunderstanding that his feelings took flight with, but now he had all his anger directed at the one person that could shoulder the betrayal and make it through the other side unscathed.

Once again Yukihiro came off like a real genius, even if it means callously playing with other people's feelings. At least he was honest about it in the end.

"I don't forgive you... but I understand."

Yukihiro reopened his laptop. "So what do we do about this situation?"

"Be very careful. I don't want to infer the wrath of my father right now. If I do, then who will look after Akira? I worry."

"Aww..." Yukihiro looked at Masanori with a tender, if somewhat knocking, regard. "You sure care about this Omega, Nori. I understand what you're trying to do, but you know, this situation has really worn you down."

Masanori rigidly stared. Yukihiro waved his suspicions away with a nod of his head. "I'm not saying that you should stay away from him. I'm just saying you could probably use some help."

Masanori raised an eyebrow. "Are you offering? I assumed you were already helping me. I know I asked a lot and you'd want to return to hiding in your cave, but..."

Hey, don't I have a lot to make up for? Don't say another word! I'm on it!" Yukihiro grinned. "As if I could go after this! I'll even gladly switch some online classes to help, Nori. If only so I could pry at the junior a bit more."

"Yeah....You know," his eyes squeezed, a pressure like they were pressing against his skull.

"...I never asked for your protection."

"Its fine, its fine! I'm here to help!" Yukihiro insisted.

"No, Yuki..." Masanori sighed. "I'm sorry for not trusting you like I should. You respect me more than anyone else. I think this really has warped my head a little."

With him still being turned away Masanori didn't see, but Yukihiro flinched like he'd been ever so slightly pinched, somewhere. His Adam's apple bobbed, throbbing in the throat. Even he couldn't hold out this long, and it came just as he expected it. His guilt.

Of all the things Yukihiro valued, it was his friendship with Masanori. There was little to compare. He wouldn't lose that over some omega either.

It was time to say something.

"Nori..."

"Hm? What-"

Suddenly, a shrill tone echoed through the room. Someone's phone was ringing.

Masanori picked up. "Yes, hello?"

"I-I can't believe it, it is your number!"

"Nemura-san?"

"Yukihiro-sama is gone so I don't know what to-" His voice even over the phone dropped to a sudden whisper.

"I-Its a, boiling day in Akihabara! I don't know the details, but...!"

Masanori dropped the phone. Yukihiro sprung from his chair, closing his laptop in the same motion.

No other words needed to be said. They both knew the code phrase. Takeshita Akira was in heat again. Quick as they could they left the center back towards the school.
