"Hmm... just learning as I go." This was a method Amir had just thought up. Sidious had inspired him to use the darkness. With his current mastery of the Force, he could hide his form in the dark.
Seneal ignored the dozen or so Pykes. Without weapons, they were no longer a threat.
He walked straight to the main door and inserted the access card.
Unexpectedly, it had no effect.
They had assumed whoever was in charge of selling Lumni spice would be high-level, but his clearance still wasn't enough.
Amir looked at the Pykes.
"Who here has the highest clearance? Open the door. Or else..." Amir threatened.
Sure enough, the Pyke in the center tremblingly took an access card from his pocket, walked to the door, and inserted it.
The door began to open from the center seam.
Seeing what was inside, Seneal didn't enter immediately, but turned his head to glance at Amir.
Just one look, and Amir knew what he meant. He stepped into the vault first.
Immediately, the sound of blaster fire roared from behind, along with the desperate, pleading cries of the Pykes.
Seneal had never been a kind man.
. . .
Amir was stunned by what he saw.
Just how rich were the Pykes? No one but them could say the exact amount. But as one of the largest criminal syndicates in the galaxy, their wealth was unimaginable.
Amir was in such a predicament.
He admitted his imagination was lacking.
He wanted to empty the place, but he couldn't.
Infiltrating alone was one thing; bringing a team to plunder was another.
Seneal seemed much calmer. He remembered his mission and quickly searched the vault for the equipment.
Amir rubbed his hands, looking at the crates of precious metals, not knowing which to take. While Seneal was busy, he wandered around.
Besides large amounts of hard currency, the rest was stockpiled spice. Most of it wasn't the cheap, common stuff; it was all valuable. Amir even saw a case of "Glitterstim." This case was comparable in value to the Lumni.
Glitterstim was a spice from Kessel, a habitable planet in the Outer Rim. On the planet's southern hemisphere, there were mines that produced it.
The famous Kessel Run was named after it.
And the planet was famous for this spice.
The mines on the planet were under Pyke control, and this precious spice brought the syndicate enormous profits.
Compared to other spices that only caused hallucinations and nerve damage, Glitterstim was a beneficial mental drug that could put the user in a wonderful state, enhancing certain indescribable perceptions. Of course, Amir had only heard about it; he didn't know the specific effects.
But most importantly, it didn't have the strong addictive properties of other spices and could be taken as a normal medicine.
These unique characteristics, and its rarity, made Glitterstim an extremely precious item.
Amir finally decided to take this case, not just because it was valuable, but because he was curious.
Lifting the case, Amir found another crate of neatly stacked Beskar in the corner. Amir was very fond of this lightsaber-resistant metal.
Carrying a case in each hand was a bit heavy. Amir frowned, a little reluctant. What he was taking was an insignificant fraction.
On the other side, Seneal had found the instruments he wanted.
They were still in their crates, with Imperial serial numbers on the outside. In the corner, Seneal even found the delivery records.
He was scanning the scene with a professional recorder. What he saw was enough to serve as conclusive evidence.
Amir, meanwhile, began to observe the surroundings.
According to Seneal's intel, this location was in the middle, core level of the base. To escape, they still had a long way to go.
Returning the way they came was not an option. Amir had already managed to paralyze the surveillance in this area, preparing for another escape route. They had to leave from an unexpected place.
Soon, Seneal reluctantly put away his recorder, picked up two cases of credits, and looked at Amir.
"You're not taking more?" Seneal asked.
Amir, walking over, suddenly saw the anti-gravity pallet on the floor next to the instruments. He was tempted.
Action speaks louder than words. Amir activated the pallet and began heaving crates of precious metal ingots and credits onto it. Seneal's eye twitched.
"Can we even get this out?" Seneal swallowed, looking at the stacked money.
"If we can't, we'll ditch it on the way. If I don't take it now, I'll lose sleep tonight." Amir pulled the loaded pallet with one hand and walked out.
The route was planned. They headed straight for a specific tunnel.
At the same time, a wave of information pulsed from Amir's brain, spreading into the distance.
. . .
32, waiting at the port, suddenly looked up.
The Traveler lifted off, slow and steady. It left the port, and after ascending, the ship gradually turned transparent, disappearing.
. . .
Amir raised his blaster and killed several more Pykes who had come as reinforcements. There were fewer enemies on this route. Most of the defenses must have been concentrated at the vault door. They had wanted to wait for the rabbit, but unfortunately for them, two lions showed up.
The next major challenge should be outside. Once the Pykes knew what happened, they would undoubtedly send ships to intercept.
Even if the spice base drew some of them away, there would still be many left.
. . .
32 skillfully piloted the Traveler, returning from the sky toward the base. But this time, he didn't go to the port. He headed for the location Amir was broadcasting.
Mid-level of the spire-shaped building. The Traveler hovered. 32 also transmitted his position to Amir.
Amir, running, sensed 32's call up ahead. He smiled.
He reached the end of the corridor.
This was the outer wall of the base.
Amir stretched out his hand. An invisible wave rushed forward. The seemingly indestructible wall, made of tightly-fitted alloy plates, groaned. It began to tremble from the inside out.
In Amir's perception, the internal structures used to fix the wall in place were being dismantled and disintegrated by him. Finally, he lowered his hand, inserted his lightsaber, and cut.
Moving clockwise, Amir cut a circular hole large enough for one person, then pushed hard. The section of wall finally broke away.
The external wind pressure rushed in, whipping Amir's robe.
Seneal looked at the wall's thickness. It was nearly two meters, far exceeding the length of a lightsaber. How did he do that?
This was another unbelievable event. Seneal thought back to their time on Coruscant.
Just then, a gap seemed to appear in the empty sky.
The gap widened until it fully opened. Amir saw the inside of the Traveler. BD-4 was standing at the entrance, welcoming him.
It was like a "door to anywhere" opening in mid-air.
The moment 32 noticed the disturbance in the wall, he had immediately flown the cloaked Traveler over.
Amir pushed the anti-gravity pallet, lifted it with the Force, and threw it into the Traveler. He and Seneal jumped in after it.
The hatch closed. The Traveler vanished completely, brazenly bypassed the Pyke blockade in the sky, and left Obadiah.
