Looking at the equally serious Amir, Ahsoka fell silent for a few seconds before agreeing, "Mm, alright then. We can add a few more ships."
They were lacking everything right now. With a hard currency like Beskar, they could acquire a lot of things, and life wouldn't have to be as difficult as it was.
After picking up more than ten ingots, Amir walked outside, satisfied.
It was time to go. He had been traveling so frequently lately; it was time to rest and settle down.
"You're not going back?" Amir finally asked Lango. He had recovered from his injuries and was busy at the base with Chewbacca.
He had been captured and brought here while investigating a slavery case. Unlike Veronica, he didn't have a strong obsession. Living a quiet life on Coruscant wasn't bad; there was no need to take more risks.
"I'll go back in a while, to see Jax. He must be bored to death. But for now, I want to stay here." Lango's "dead fish" eyes seemed to have a spark. Amir suddenly felt he had lost another comrade-in-arms.
The "lazy fish" squad that used to slack off, eat, and talk big on Coruscant had lost another general.
Only Jax, the last seedling, was left. Hopefully, he could stay true to himself.
After giving Chewbacca one last pat, Amir boarded the ship.
Obi-Wan was also eager to get back to his precious Luke.
Sitting back in the Traveler's cockpit, Amir was filled with emotion. This experience had shown him the supreme power of the Sith's dark side.
He could feel that Darth Sidious hadn't used his full strength. The Sith Emperor intended to capture him alive. He wanted him to submit to the dark side, to become his tool. If Sidious had intended to kill him from the start, he would have been long gone.
But this also proved that he still had something Sidious wanted. Just like when Gideon first captured him—even though they had taken his genes and everything while he was unconscious—they still wanted to brainwash him, to make him cooperate.
Besides genes, what else do they want? Or, did they not get the answers they wanted from my genes? Kahalman had also said his inserted gene fragments were basically the same as 32's, but the results were worlds apart.
A tangled mess of threads. Amir tried to sort it out, but only had a few theories, none with real proof.
No one could say for sure what was going on with his body. So, he just stopped thinking about it. Life itself was a miracle; it wasn't too much for him to be a little more of a miracle.
"When can I have a lightsaber, Amir!" Milisen ran over and said.
Amir looked to Obi-Wan for help.
"Milisen does need a lightsaber for her training," Obi-Wan mused.
Milisen was overjoyed and jumped happily. "Obi-Wan, you're the best!"
"But I have to ask you a question, Milisen." Obi-Wan's expression turned serious. Milisen, seeing this, also quieted down.
"What is it..."
"You should already know our situation. The Jedi are being hunted by the entire Empire. Joining us means danger, it means responsibility. Are you sure you want to choose this path?" Obi-Wan looked into Milisen's eyes and said, word by word.
Milisen was startled by Obi-Wan's sudden seriousness. For the first time, she felt she was facing an important choice about her own life. Although she was scared, she was mostly moved.
She finally felt like she could personally participate in deciding her own future, and was no longer a tool to be forced.
Milisen pouted. Such an important decision. I definitely have to think about it.
Amir and Obi-Wan didn't interfere with her thoughts. This was a decision she had to make herself.
But after less than two seconds, Milisen couldn't hold it in: "Ah~ I don't want to think! I just want to be like Amir, holding a lightsaber and kaka-kaching bad guys! Especially the ones who bullied me and Mona!"
"So... um... I want to be a Jedi Knight." Milisen turned her face to the side, looking down, becoming a little embarrassed by the end.
"Hahaha! The new Jedi Order is open for business! Milisen, you're the first apprentice!" Amir laughed.
"What do you mean, 'open for business'?" Obi-Wan shouted at Amir. "You make it sound like a street stall! And aren't you the first apprentice?"
"Me? I'm definitely a founding member!" Amir retorted, unconvinced.
"I... I want to join too!" 32, sitting in the co-pilot's seat, weakly raised his hand.
"Of course, you can." Amir reached over and patted his shoulder.
Obi-Wan gave up. He collapsed onto the sofa.
"You should visit Adrian often, Master. Give the children some care. Ahsoka has already started using the intelligence network to find their parents, but it's not an easy task. And many children already know their parents are dead."
"Many of them have expressed a willingness to learn the Force, to become Jedi. If we really are to establish a new Order, they will all be your students. You're the only choice for teaching."
Listening to Amir, Obi-Wan couldn't help but imagine. He had never thought about rebuilding the Order. The clone army controlled by the Sith Emperor during Order 66 was an irresistible force. Even now, Obi-Wan still remembered the pain and despair.
Since then, Obi-Wan had believed the Jedi were a thing of the past. All he could do was hide, escape. Luke was his only hope.
Not long ago, he had even decided not to force Luke onto the Jedi path.
But after Amir appeared, in just one short month, dozens of Force-sensitive children had been rescued, and it was no longer impossible to rebuild the Jedi Order.
He could foresee that one day in the future, a group of powerful Jedi Knights would appear on the battlefield against the Empire, adding a heavy weight to the scales of victory.
Obi-Wan couldn't help but smile, relieved. There was finally hope...
The ship quickly reached Tatooine. The Mandalorian finished his business and left happily. The remaining few flew back to Obi-Wan's hut.
A good ship in the galaxy wasn't just a simple transport. The Traveler had pretty much become Amir's home. It could be compared to a luxury, oversized, flying RV.
Obi-Wan still preferred to live in his hut. According to him, he had worked hard to get this hut. It wasn't easy for a fugitive to have a home on this planet. He had lived in a cave for the past ten years.
Everything returned to normal. Milisen and 32 began to study. Amir also had to resume his training.
Kayin reported back in the evening. Nothing had happened at the moisture farm these past few days. Luke was being a little farmer, as usual.
Finally, only Amir and Obi-Wan were left in front of the hut. Everyone else had gone to rest. Just then, Qui-Gon appeared before them.
"I was there, Amir. But I had no way to help you," Qui-Gon said apologetically. He was still in a phase of exploration. A Force Spirit's influence on reality was minimal.
"Don't feel guilty, Master Qui-Gon. I made it out safely, didn't I?" Amir said with a smile.
Looking at Amir, Qui-Gon's eyes showed worry. He said, "You used the dark side... Although you resisted it with your will this time, it is now dormant in your body. It is still dangerous. Do not become mesmerized by the power it gives you, or there will be unimaginable consequences."
