Chapter 140 - Chapter 142: Return in the Flames

Amir slowly closed his eyes. At this moment, his mind was exhausted from Sidious's dark side assault. He felt it getting harder to suppress his evil thoughts, harder to suppress his desires, harder to resist the fear of death.

The previous battle had relied entirely on the belief brought by anger, using the dark Force as a weapon, as a tool. Now, the other edge of the double-bladed sword was finally stabbing back at him.

Amir's body bent slightly, unable to stop himself from wanting to submit to fear, to power.

But as he was forced to bow halfway, his finger quietly pressed the switch.

The moment he pressed it, the whole world seemed to fall silent. But this brief silence was welcoming an impending frenzy!

In an instant, the entire base began to shake violently. The sudden accident interrupted Sidious's dark side attack. Amir broke free from the heavy pressure and struggled to stand up straight.

"You can kill me, but my mind will never yield." Amir actually smiled. "Now, you should run for your life too."

The base's vibrations grew more intense. Cracks even began to appear in the walls. The bombs Amir made had enough power to pierce the solid load-bearing walls. Even the alloy panels couldn't stop them!

. . .

Obi-Wan stood in the elevator, rubbing his lightsaber, his eyes fixed on the floor number. Only 82? Why is it so slow!!

As he was thinking, the elevator suddenly shook violently!

"An earthquake?!" Obi-Wan said, alarmed. "No... no, it's the bombs!"

Obi-Wan thought of the bombs he had painstakingly installed. He had wondered if they had enough power to shake this massive base. Now he knew.

"But you're still inside the building..." Obi-Wan said softly to himself.

Obi-Wan grabbed the elevator wall, steadying his shaking body. Luckily, the elevator wasn't damaged.

"Has it come to this? Forcing you to detonate the bombs... Are you trying to die with him...?"

Viscous anxiety, as if pushed by a syringe, plunged into Obi-Wan's heart.

"I have to make it... I have to make it... I've already failed once... I... I will not be late again, my apprentice!"

The twisted elevator doors, like a dying old man, trembled open.

Obi-Wan, lightsaber in hand, ran toward the central room!

The massive valve and the surrounding wall had been blasted open. The floor was pitch black. Obi-Wan's goal was clear. He rushed forward and stepped through the broken doorframe.

The black-robed figure, holding a scarlet lightsaber, was levitating the scarred boy.

The figure was roaring in anger: "You will! I will watch you fall into darkness!"

The golden-haired boy, though his face was twisted in agony, his eyes were brighter than ever.

Obi-Wan's hands trembled slightly. Not from fear, but from anger and being moved by Amir's display. He directly used his maximum strength, wrapping the disgusting black figure in the Force, and yanked him backward violently.

With the base shaking, the immense force Obi-Wan applied made it difficult for Sidious to keep his balance. He was forced back several steps.

Amir was released. He knelt on the ground, raised his hand, and gave himself another stim, forcing himself to stand.

The shaking grew more violent. The whole base seemed to be sinking. Cracks appeared in the walls.

"Amir!" Obi-Wan shouted. "Get out! To the hangar outside!"

"Master..." Amir smiled happily. It felt so good to be rescued. He thought he was going to die here.

No more words. Amir pushed himself up and walked toward the door.

Obi-Wan charged forward, swinging his lightsaber at Sidious!

The red and blue blades clashed. The enraged Sidious was far stronger than when Amir had faced him. But Obi-Wan displayed top-tier swordsmanship, blocking every attack, desperately holding back the frenzied Sith Lord.

Not forgetting to pull out the copied data drive, and scoop up the unconscious BD-4, Amir walked step by step toward the door. Step... by step.

He felt his vision blurring, his breathing growing heavy.

"Amir! Amir!"

Hearing the familiar cry, Amir looked up.

It's Ahsoka. Wasn't she in charge of the main battle...

A warm body held him, carrying him on her back, running and bouncing. The darkness changed. A bright light appeared. Amir had never loved the sunlight as much as he did at this moment. His blurring consciousness returned slightly with the light.

The Traveler hovered down from above. 32 and Mando jumped from the ramp, took Amir, and lifted him onto the ship.

"Quick! Quick! The base is collapsing! Where's Obi-Wan?!" Veronica shouted from the side.

As soon as she spoke, the two fighting figures moved and appeared in the hangar. Ahsoka, seeing them, ignited her lightsaber and charged, joining Obi-Wan in blocking Sidious.

"Take off! Quick!" Obi-Wan shouted.

The two fought as they retreated to the edge of the hangar.

Obi-Wan stretched out his hand, lifted a huge piece of rock from the platform, and hurled it at Sidious, forcing him to step back and dodge.

Obi-Wan and Ahsoka seized the chance and jumped backward.

Both figures crossed the ten-meter gap and landed on the Traveler's ramp.

"No!" Sidious roared in anger. He stretched out his hands, and a torrential dark Force erupted from his fingertips, turning into thick lightning! It shot toward the departing Traveler!

Obi-Wan and Ahsoka, horrified, quickly raised their hands, forming a massive Force shield to block.

But this power was too strong. Their full-strength defense only neutralized a part of it!

Luckily, it was enough.

A part of the Traveler's hull was hit by the thick lightning. It burst into flames, but it hadn't hit the thrusters or other key areas. It could still fly!

The ship flew further away. Obi-Wan and Sidious stared at each other. He knew this man all too well. They were acquainted before the Empire's founding. The Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic: Sheev Palpatine!

"Sith Lord..."

The Traveler's ramp closed completely, leaving only a black shadow standing alone in the hangar, the collapsing mountain beneath his feet. Nearby, his ship had long since been blasted to scrap by Veronica.

Ahsoka looked at the experimental base, which was collapsing in the explosion. Its bottom was completely shattered. The entire structure had sunk more than ten meters. The outer wall was in ruins. Having lost its foundation, it was unusable.

But it wasn't enough. Ahsoka took a device from her pocket and pressed a button.

The distant base showed no change, but Ahsoka's face showed relief.

In a corner of Floor 150, a backpack silently exploded.

There was no violent impact or high-temperature blast. Instead, a massive, invisible pulse spread outward.

Floor 50. From here, upward, every floor was packed with dense cultivation tanks. In each tank was a naked clone. They were sleeping, never having awakened. Most of their bodies were different from ordinary people, some with twisted beast claws, some covered in scales. Bizarre and evil. But they were never the evil ones.

The invisible pulse reached them. The tanks leaked massive amounts of electricity, and the interiors were completely destroyed. All facilities—testing, recording, storage—no matter what, all were completely damaged, then ignited by the surging current. No one would ever get anything from here again.

Floor 49, 50, 51... all the way to the top.

Flames flickered. All the clones fell into an eternal sleep. Their bodies turned to ash in the fire, returning to the Force.

Ahsoka put away the button, sighed, and said quietly:

"May the Force be with you."
