Tatooine
"Don't let your mind wander, Milisen." Amir looked at Milisen, who was supposed to be meditating, and said helplessly.
"Hmph~"
"You can't rush teaching a student, Amir. Look at me, I've never rushed you." Obi-Wan sat at the entrance, drinking his beverage.
"You take over for a bit. I have some questions for Master Qui-Gon." Amir made a quick escape.
Obi-Wan looked at Amir suspiciously, but still stood up and walked over to Milisen.
"Alright, little apprentice. Would you like a glass of juice?" Obi-Wan asked.
"Hm?! Yes!" Milisen replied happily. Obi-Wan is so nice!
"See? You're still not concentrating."
Milisen: ...I can't believe I fell for that. You're a bad old man.
After Amir returned, he asked both of them about the Sith Holocron. The answers he got were vague, but one thing was certain: the object was extremely dangerous. The Jedi Order had once sealed several of them, and they were always treated as the highest level of forbidden items.
Amir had returned to Tatooine to pick up Obi-Wan. Kayin had been entrusted with the great responsibility of protecting the future pinnacle of galactic power—Luke Skywalker.
After asking Master Qui-Gon a few questions about Force Spirits, Amir couldn't help but ask a few other things.
"Are dark side abilities and light side abilities completely opposite?" After obtaining the Sith Holocron, Amir had become curious about dark side Force abilities.
"Of course not. A light-side Force user can also use dark side abilities. It's just that many of those abilities require dark emotions to drive them. Hehe, so once you use them, there's a risk of falling to the dark side," Qui-Gon explained patiently.
He had been observing Obi-Wan's new apprentice. His talent was beyond ordinary, his willpower was strong, and he had a mature mind. He would undoubtedly become a powerful Jedi Knight. It was just that his foundation was too weak, and his time in real contact with Force training was too short.
And most importantly, he sensed a strong worry deep in Amir's heart, and worry could easily turn into fear. Moreover, if one became too obsessed with power, it was difficult to resist the temptation of the dark side.
Just like the child he had met on this same planet decades ago. He thought he would bring balance to the Force, but he never expected...
In the first years after becoming a Force Spirit, when Qui-Gon couldn't contact the outside world, he had watched young Anakin Skywalker grow, step by step, show his talent, experience friendship and love. He also watched him suffer, holding his dead mother and sobbing silently, immersed in the precognition of Padmé's death, unable to break free. He watched him draw his saber against the Jedi Order, killing countless younglings...
Qui-Gon hated that he could only watch it all happen. He wanted to stop Anakin, to hold the boy and ease his pain, but he was powerless.
He didn't want to witness such a tragedy again. He would keep his watch on Amir.
"Remember, Amir, the destination that the light side and the dark side reach is the same. The dark side is just... faster. For your talent, that bit of time makes no difference," Qui-Gon said.
"I know, Master. I won't be tempted by the dark side," Amir said with a smile. He could see that Master Qui-Gon was worried about him.
"I don't know what you are worried about deep in your heart, but you must trust in the guidance of the Force. The galaxy will eventually return to balance."
Amir nodded, taking Qui-Gon's words to heart.
Not long after, Milisen ran over. "Amir! You promised a big meal!"
Amir glanced at the twin suns in the distance. It was evening again.
"Let's go. We must have a good meal after a big fight."
"Yay!"
32, who was studying off to the side, also stood up.
"You can't eat. Go take an oil bath." Amir looked at 32 with pity.
32: ...
Obi-Wan also finished his meditation, stroked his beard, and said, "I've been eating too well lately. I've put on some weight. Should I add some training..."
Soon, the group arrived at Mos Eisley's Dragon-Camel Roast shop.
"Ooh, it smells so good!!" Milisen sniffed, full of enjoyment.
The group sat down. Just as they finished ordering, the entire shop's attention was drawn to a person who had just entered.
Amir looked. Hey, isn't that an old acquaintance? He raised his hand and waved. "Old Mando, over here!"
The Mandalorian stared intently at Amir, walking over step by step. It didn't look like a meeting of old friends; it looked more like a hunter staring at his prey.
What's this about? Amir looked at his buddy's posture, confused.
At this moment, the entire roast shop went quiet. The staff also stopped what they were doing. No one wanted to provoke a fully armed Mandalorian. Their fierce reputation was built on killing.
The Mandalorian walked to Amir's table. He dug a small disc out from a gap in his armor and threw it on the table. It was a small projector. When activated, a hologram of a person popped up.
Golden hair, a young face, slightly lazy eyes...
"Amir, that's your picture!" Milisen was the first to speak.
Below the portrait was a string of numbers. At this, the silent Mandalorian spoke: "You have an Imperial bounty on your head."
Amir looked at the bounty and almost spat out his drink. What the hell? Who put a fifty-thousand-credit bounty on me? I'm tempted to go collect it myself!
"So, are you here to capture me?" Amir looked at Mando, puzzled. This isn't a smart time to make a move, buddy. Obi-Wan and 32 are right here. Kayin will be here in a bit. You'd have a hard time taking on any one of us.
The Mandalorian glanced at the people at Amir's table. A scruffy old man, a... somewhat blank-looking droid, a Twi'lek girl... This looks doable.
Finally, he looked at Amir...
"Fine. Get me a drink." The Mando was a wise man who knew when to fold. He sat down.
"Haha, I knew you wouldn't capture me. Who posted this bounty?" Amir asked.
"I don't know who. But the entire underworld is looking for you right now. Fifty-thousand credits is too tempting," the Mandalorian said, leaning back. "By the way, the Empire put a warrant on your ship before, but it was withdrawn for some reason."
"Probably because I got captured..." Amir said wryly.
Amir suddenly thought of his next operation. It would definitely be a tough fight. And right in front of him was a blatant, cheap, tough, and loyal-enough thug.
"I've got a new job. You in?" Amir said.
"As long as the pay is good." As expected, Mando was a hard-ass who valued money over his life. With Mandalore occupied by the Empire, these hidden clans could only keep their heads down.
