Chapter 41 - 41. The Morning after the Battle

Julia's cyclone elevated everyone up to the ground surface. As they were being lifted, Arkas constantly stared Andy down. Perhaps his envious gaze wanted to suck out as much as he could for the little time he had with him. For Arkas had not seen such display of fright in a long time.

They all reached above to the broken and feeble state of the Signet Manor.

"Wait.. How did we end up here?"

Arkas inquired. Expressed his shock.

"And... What exactly happend here?"

His shock grew into concern.

"Ummm... Well.... I am Sorry!" He looked back to a bowing Eiser.

"Ahemm..." Eiser cleared his throat.

Arkas smirked.

"Its alright yknow! If you are the one who did this, then Pecko and Aunty must be safe right!"

He said.

Eiser was taken ahead by Arkas's faith in him. His eyes widened as he burst out laughing.

Arkas suddenly got red with embarrassment as he clenched his fists.

"What is it? Huh?"

He shouted to a grooving Eiser.

"Still..." Arkas turned his back towards Eiser as he continued, "Thank you!".

It caught Eiser off guard again so he laughed even harder this time rolling on the broken ground as he did.

Arkas was taken into a blaze as he did.

"Tskkk.... I never should've told him that!" He thought to himself.

Then suddenly the two heard footsteps. Arkas quickly looked at the main gate as he heard the sounds of heels flapping recklessly on the ground. His expressions were ecstatic. The door to the main hall opened. Entered The Haired Beauty, Lolopechika. She glanced at Arkas's battered body, Heavy tears ran down her face. As she recklessly walked, she went off balance and fell yet Arkas quickly caught her frail white hands. Arkas's eyes of reassurance met the worried eyes of Lolopechika. She wasted no time and hugged him tight. As her tears grew intense.

Meamwhile, Eiser in the back covered his eyes in embarrassment as he had not seen something like that before.

Riley, who was unconscious moments ago, had now quietly crawled to the back window. He silently wanted to go out of the Manor yet from behind Wandera's warm arms got him.

"And where might you be going?"

She said as she pulled him back into her chest. She placed her head onto his shoulder and gently pat his head.

Riley couldn't speak, as he was bitter red with embarrassment.

"You are a good boy now, Aren't you?"

She whispered in his ear.

"Uh-uhg"

Riley's embarrassed voice cracked.

"I have to escape her clutches!"

He thought to himself.

Meanwhile Eiser moved his gaze around the manor and noticed that Andy and Julia had vanished the moment they reached up. An evil grin came about his mouth as he came to that conclusion.

Then he saw Lolopechika run towards him. As he did, he got flustered for some reason. He stepped back, bringing his arms around his face.

This uncoordinated motion of Eiser shocked Lolopechika aswell. So she stopped infront of him.

"Thank you so much!"

She said. Eiser peaked through his fingers and saw a bowing Lolopechika. It took him for a surprise. Yet he couldn't speak anything.

"Thank you for protecting us! For taking the courage to help defeat them." Eiser couldn't speak for he never could've expected anything serious from Lolopechika. Meanwhile, she stood straight up, tears covering her face. She said, "Now the City can finally arise again."

Eiser's throat felt heavy being thanked like that. So he looked down towards the ground. Rethinking his ambitions under pressure.

Just then he felt a warm slap at his back. It broke all of his calculations as he looked back towards the one who slapped him. Behind him he saw a smiling Wandera with one of her arm across Riley's shoulder, red from embarrassment.

He smiled looking at the two. As he finally felt relieved. He looked up thinking of Regto Pa. Then suddenly he his soft eyes sharpened. He looked at his back towards Mila and Ana who were still unconscious. He started to breathe heavily and in a moment he rushed to them. As he tried to lift them, his body stopped moving. All of the fatigue had finally caught up with him. His legs gave out. Both Arkas and Riley were finding it hard to even contain themselves.

"No! Move!! Darn Body Move!!"

Eiser thought to himself. Loathe stsrted to build inside of him. His promise to Mila haunted him. His body started to shiver. Arkas slowly came towards him and shared half of the burden by carrying Ana.

"You try to pick the little girl. I'll take care of Ana!"

He said as picked him up on his back and started to stagger.

Eiser knew Arkas had no strength left. Yet he had no other choice but at that crucial time. Even after mustering all his strength Eiser's body didn't move.

Suddenly the door to the main hall thud open and came Captain Stincer sweating and huffing to the bone.

"Huh-huh Sorry I am late!"

He said as he walked to wards the lying corpses avoiding the rubble.

"Hmmm.... So the leader of the Chained Dogs was right beneath me huh. Can't say i was surprised."

"Now then, Aqueous Healing!"

He said as two water blobs appeared on his hands.

He then asked Arkas to open the mouth of Anastasia. Arkas was confused for he had not seen anything like that before. Yet upon persisting, he did so.

As Arkas forced open the mouth of Ana by his hands, Signet made Ana drink that water blob that magically healed most of Anastasia's injuries. He did the same thing with Mila which healed some of her injuries aswell.

"That should do it for now! Though they still do need to be taken to the hospital!"

He said.

Arkas and Eiser, with thier clueless faces looked at eachother then at Signet. As if demanding an explanation.

"What?... I can heal, I am a water mage. How did you guys mananged to defeat Drew without any plans?"

He sighed.

"Y-YO-YO-YOU CAN HEAL!?!?"

Arkas shouted in utter bafflement.

"I just did so right? Water mages are healers! I can't believe you guys didn't even know that! Ana's injuries were not dense compared to the little girl's. That's because she had tried to heal herself to carry on. Yet it drained her all too quickly in that state of hers i suppose. Well anyway! This place is ruined, for now let's move to the storage cabin."

He said as they all then followed Signet to their saperate Storage cabin just beside the Manor.

He also ordered some soldiers that came with him to take Ana and Mila to the hospital.

"I still have to go to the hospital!"

Eiser argued.

"Huuh?? And why is that?"

Signet inquired in a rude tone.

"Sandy! Sandy isn't here! I have to make sure he was escorted to the hospital safely!"

Eiser had little strength left. He wasn't even able to stand properly. For he was using the support of another soldier to stand still.

"Tskkk... Fine I'll go! You haven't even eaten anything since you came here! You are lucky to be even able to talk! Now go inside and rest!"

Signet said as went ahead with his company.

"Wait! Please..."

Eiser still stopped him as he went ahead.

Signet had gotten extremely irritated by now. As he turned back, stomping his feet. Yet that mild exasperation in his eyes, melted away as he saw Eiser's legs shaking wildly yet still holding his body's weight. As Eiser bowed down to him.

"Thank you, Captain!"

Was all he said. That made Signet clench his fists and lips quiver. He covered his teary eyes with his Police cap. Yet he held his throat.

"Huh.. I am sure your teammates are safe! Go get patched up now!"

He said as he turned back again and went ahead to the hospital.

Eiser was escorted to the Cabin by the soldier, in where he spared no time and laid down on a bed.

The Cabin was entirely made out of wood. Single beds were placed in their along with basic household needs and first aid boxes. Eiser assumed that it was shafted purposefully for saving the injured or rescuing incase of any incalculable attackd on the Signet Manor.

On one of the Single beds, Lolopechika was putting bandages on Arkas and the other was utilized by Riley whom had already fallen under the spell of deep sleep after being gently patched by Wandera.

As soon as Eiser got the warmth of a soft mattress, his weakened body gave in to the exhaustion. Having eaten little to no food since leaving the Cut city Eiser's body was on the brink of breaking. So that tiny warmth that he was served by, from the comfy mattress. The softness that he had never gotten in his entire life. His body quickly gave in and he started to sleep.

In hazy condition, he saw Wandera come up to him and patch him up. Yet tired as he was, his eyes could only open briefly, before falling asleep again.

The long awaited sun had now finally risen in the Fade City. The sickening and choking era of The Chained Dogs gang had finally come to a close now. Through the Valiant efforts of Eiser, his pack, The Bald Theif Gang and The Police Department, The Fade City could finally breath freely now.
