Timeskip, 6 years later:
99 AG, Winter
Since I shared our scorched earth tactics, Earth Kingdom and its various city states are faring much better. Atleast they have managed to take back all the lands of city states that still survived. Those that were completely overtaken by Fire Nation are still in the control of Fire Nation as colonies.
For completely conquering south pole and stopping fire nation advance in the Earth Kingdom, I got the blue print of Omashu to build to build a similiar city in our western mountains for mining. And the second reward was the location of the oil field and technology of oil drilling and refining. Though the drilling and refining technology will take a lot of time before we can create it.
And now I think, Fire Nation is soon going to lose the war altogether in a year. Why, because right infront of my eyes, I am seeing a huge and bright beam of light going in the sky from my palace window.
And not long after a huge bison came swimming towards us, with someone sitting on his head while two people are riding a fishing boat beside it.
As they drew nearer, I could see that people on the boat were Katara and Sokka, who went to fishing as a sibling bonding activity after Sokka returned home from a 8 month long posting on the frontline.
As they drew nearer and docked there boat in the harbor, I went towards Sokka and Katara.
"Sokka, Katara, who is this you brought here?" I asked.
"Dear, this is someone we found burried inside an iceberg while fishing. I helped him out of the iceberg to find he is still alive. He said his name was Aang and this is his friend Appa. He said appa is a Flying Bison." Katara, my wife, said. Yes I married her when she turned 18, officially making her the Queen of the Southern Water Tribe.
"A Flying Bison you say. While I have never seen one myself, but the legend says, only an Airbender can control them. So your survivor must be an Airbender." I said.
"He did show some airbending when we met him but it seems his stay in ice has exhausted him. He has been asleep on his bison for quite some time." Sokka said.
"We will give him a room in the palace for now. If his arrow marking is anything to go by, than he is the first recorded Air Nomad in a century. And much more than that." I whispered the last part to myself. My two guards stepped forward to bring Aang down from Appa, but Appa started growling at them. Seeing this Katara stepped forward.
"Don't worry Appa, they wouldn't harm him. They are only taking him to rest. Don't worry." Katara said while petting the beast. Slowly the Bison calmed down and allowed them to bring Aang down and started taking him towards the palace.
"Remember, I want to meet him as soon as he wakes up." Than turning to Katara he said "Katara dear, had the maids in the palace, prepare a feast. We can't let the world criticize our hospitality. Also remember, Air Nomads were vegetarian, so prepare some vegetarian dish and fruits for him. Sokka, you come with me."
With that Katara went to the palace to look after the arrangements and Sokka and I went towards my study. Once there I sat in my chair and gestured Sokka to sit opposite me.
"Now tell me what happened and don't leave a single detail." I said.
"Okay so we were having a fishing competition. Katara was using her bending to win, so I used chi blocking on her. Suddenly a strong current came and started sweeping our boat with it. Because Katara's bending was blocked, she couldn't stop the current.
Next thing we knew, we were swept to a huge spherical iceberg. Our boat also swept away from the iceberg. I quickly unblocked Katara's chi. Katara used her bending to bring our boat towards us. Suddenly a blue light shined behind us. We turned and saw it was coming from the iceberg and in it we saw someone with glowing eyes.
Katara melted the ice sphere to rescue him from which a strong wind current and that ray of blue light in the sky was released. Out of which came this boy and his Bison.
But he seemed rather unaware about the war and Fire Nation atrocities, like he has never heard of it. Than we offered to bring him here to rest and recover and he fell asleep on his bison in the journey."
"Hmm, it's as I expected." Tulok said to himself.
"Your Highness, what do you mean." Sokka asked confused.
"Tell me Sokka, did Kya ever told you the story and history of avatars. What did she told you." Tulok asked.
"That Avatar is the keeper of balance between the four nations. That he is the only that can master all four elements, use them together and is very powerful. That everytime an avatar die, he is reborn in another nation in a cycle. And the last known avatar was Avatar Roku from Fire Nation and the next avatar should have been from Air Nomads." Sokka said.
"Yes, you are right. Now tell me, if Fire Nation genocided all the Air Nomads, the avatar should have been born in our water tribes. Nyima and Dawa (AN: will be explained later) were born much later, so they couldn't be the Avatar. So where is the Avatar." Tulok asked.
"You mean...you mean that boy is the Avatar and he is more 100 years old and has been trapped in the ice for all this time?" Sokka asked.
"That's the only logical reason and that's why, I need you to go and check our defences and warm our navy to be on high alert. While we have taken over the South Sea, the Fire Nation still controls the Whale Tail island and that light could be seen from hundred of miles." Tulok said.
"I will do as you say, Your Highness." Sokka said and left to execute the orders.
