Chapter 11: Are We friends?
Katsuki Bakugou's eyes widened
Izuku sees the reluctance and says quickly "Not now... I have something I want you to see... after lights out."
Bakugou looks at him carefully "Are we gonna fight again?"
Izuku sits on an empty bed and sighs "I... honestly don't know, this is all so much happening at once... But I still want to get something clear with you.. finally on the table, once and for all... Finally off our chests..."
Bakugou says nothing as He settles in. He knew what Deku had in mind, finally going to tell him off after all He's done.. and could have done.
Fine. He will accept whatever happens... Maybe He can live with himself then.
It was a few hours later when Katsuki Bakugou was stirred awake by a certain prodding finger. He looked up to see Izuku Midoriya standing over his bed. He sits to see the other sleeping member in the room, Kirishima. One of the two people who aren't completely done with him.
Izuku silently gestures to follow him out the door and He nods. They walk down the halls of wherever They were. Just where was Izuku taking them?
After a few minutes, They finally make it to a large set of doors. They slip in and Bakugou looks around to see several bookshelves going to the distance. Also there were several tables and chairs.
Izuku takes a seat and gestures to him to do so as well. Soon did both teens sat opposite each other.
The green haired boy fiddled with his thumbs awkwardly while Bakugou was silent, unsure of what to do next.
Izuku sighs "We've... known each other for so long, haven't we?"
Bakugou's eyes widened. He was starting there?
"My mom... and yours... always wanted us to get along. Neither really knows what was really going on between us. I heard Mom talking with her, honestly wondering why We didn't seem to hang out often."
Bakugou swallowed "Yeah... Old Ha-... Mom wanted to take me over and hang out a few times... I made excuses and went with those extras to arcades..."
"Do you remember... before We had quirks?" Katsuki looks up at Deku looking shocked, but does not answer "We used to play all the time, there wasn't any shouting r yells that weren't the norm for kids our ages... I think back to those times a lot when People ask if We were friends... Even when you gained a quirk and I did not, I hope We could still be friends... But everything changed after that..." Izuku sighs
Bakugou looks down at the table and frowns "Yeah.. I know... I got a quirk... and everyone laughed at you for not getting one... with myself laughing the hardest."
"You were a right prick, you know that?" Izuku lets slip easily. Bakugou felt his temper rise before burning out
"That's... an understatement."
"You hurt people, not just me. I'm not talking about training exercises either... except our first one in UA, you were planning to kill me there." He shakes his head "Off topic... I wasn't the only one, I was your favorite punching bag, albeit because I kept putting myself out there..." He trails off "But you scared people into following you like some sort of boss..."
Bakugou gripped his fists hard
"You were loud... arrogant... a complete ass, I am not going to lie. We have always been at odds and I honestly don't understand why, Because I pitied you? When was that? I never did and if I did... Not really a valid excuse, but I guess an understandable one."
'No.. It really wasn't.'
"I saw the looks you were getting, the emotions filling the air, the anger and resentment, and I can't say it isn't rightfully deserved, all the while, I was trying to wrap my head around on what I exactly feel about you... And I finally have my answer."
'I know what you are going to say... And I'll accept it...'
"After the broken bones, the scorched flesh and the constant putdowns, I finally know I can call you, Kacchan..."
'Whatever it is.. I won't run... I'll take whatever happens like a man...'
"Katsuki Bakugou," Izuku finally says, a calm look in his eyes "You're only human."
Katsuki only stares at Izuku who says nothing else. He waits for a moment but Izuku Midoriya says nothing else. After an eternity, more like 5 minutes of dead air, Bakugou yells "Is that it?!"
Izuku tilts his head "You wanted more?"
"I thought you were gonna berate me! Trash me! Tell me off! Something!"
He blinks "You want me to?"
"YES!" Bakugou yells "I.. I've done so many bad things! I hurt people, I hurt you! I KILLED you!"
"Really now? But aren't I here right now?" Izuku laughs it off
A small tick mark appears on Bakugou's head "I mean the other world! You followed my stupid advice! I have blood on my hands!"
"'HE' does." The green boy corrects
"Small thing! No difference! Had things been different, You would be dead!"
"But I am not." Izuku reminds him "I pushed through, I even used your taunts against you, time and time again. I proved you wrong, buster." He stands up from his seat and leans over the table He was sitting at "I made it to UA, made it out of that slime incident and made out with One-For-All, I won Kacchan." He pokes the ex-explosive teen in the chest "It hurt, all the teasing and mockery, but I want you to remember, you weren't the only one doing it. Did you honestly think everyone who hurt me back then did so solely because of you? Did you forget even the teachers were against me joining?"
Katsuki's eyes widen "You... thought so too?"
"Yes, I want to be angry, I wanted to rage, but instead I held on, even when All Might told me to give up, I held and did not release. Even when I wanted to give up, I did not, Why?.. I honestly cannot say, I chock it to me being stubborn... or that I perhaps have another purpose, I want to save lives... and I want to save you as well, Kacchan."
Katsuki looks Midoriya in the eye and could not no hint of malice, no lie in the eye.
"You are hurting, you are in pain, ever since We were brought here, I think that is enough for me... Besides... I know you can be better than what you were."
"No.. It isn't possible for me.."
"Kacchan, what did We just watch?" Izuku says immediately
"Huh?" He says confused
"We just watched SPIDER-MAN." He emphasizes
"Huh... Yeah, the story of a hero-"
"Nope." Izuku cuts him off, reaching into his back pocket and pulling out a magazine and placing it on the table before Katsuki "This is the story of someone who did wrong... and wants to do right."
Katsuki looks at the magazine on the table with a bit of shock "Amazing... Fantasy?" He looks at Izuku "What is this?"
He taps the issue "THIS is Spider-Man's origin story."
"Didn't We already see his origin? How is this any different?"
"Because it IS different! Compared with Raimi Spider-Man, this guy is.. well... You!"
"Huh?! The hell are you talking about?!"
"I read this and saw how this Spider-Man was, He too ignored responsibility but We get to see him be that arrogant ass for longer, it wasn't an immediate end for Uncle Ben like in Raimi Spider-Man, His death took several days after Peter lets the criminal go, where He berates the world and wishes for it's destruction, albeit wanting Aunt May and Uncle Ben to be well off. Even before He was bitten, He had a disdain for the world, even quoting 'Someday They'll see!' and even after letting the criminal and receiving a gift from May and Ben did He still say without care that the world could hang for all He cared as long as the people HE exclusively cared for were okay. And the criminal scene in general, while Raimi Peter had a petty excuse, at least He had a reason! Comic Parker was just an ass who didn't care!
Oh... That was familiar
"When I first read, my familiar pain from watching Raimi Spider-Man returned, 'Is this REALLY the symbol of Responsibility We were supposed to be learning from?!' were my thoughts.."
Bakugou blinked, oh yeah, He did curse out Parker when that happened
"I had thought symbols were the most pure and altruistic heroes out there and Parker did not line up.. or at least not yet." Izuku sighs, looking ashamed "I judged Parker to be an impossibly high standard, I expected him to be like All Might! Right from the start!.. But that wasn't fair, Peter Parker was not another All Might, but someone different... Someone like me, someone who had similarities but also major differences..." Izuku looks at Amazing Fantasy 15 "I wasn't the first to be chosen for One-For-All."
Bakugou blinked "Huh?" This was the first time He was hearing this
"Before All Might met me that day, his former sidekick Nighteye was training Mirio-Senpai to be the next All Might."
That... makes sense He guessed. Looks aside, his old quirk would've negated the backlash of the blows until He could've finalized it, unlike Izuku in first year who only stopped breaking his limbs mostly only recently.
"When I saw Peter being teased... I imprinted on him how I was back before I met All Might, I kept... picturing ideals over who it should it really be and the moment something I didn't like or even would've done myself, I just... lashed out. I didn't give Peter a chance to prove himself as his own hero because He didn't fall in line with what I wanted a hero to be... at least in the beginning." The greenette scratches his mane embarrassingly "Looking back, I just seemed like a prick myself, I mean, I was morally right... but not emotionally right, I was more betrayed by Peter not being the hero of my dreams and instead just a boy learning what it means to do right... I will be the first to admit after Raimi Spider-Man, I was wrong. I was completely wrong about Peter Parker. I judged him like I was judged by Sir Nighteye to Mirio-Senpai, I judged him wrongly and was proven over the course of today that people can change! For the better!
Bakugou stares at Izuku for a good while before resuming Amazing Fantasy 15, He reads about how Parker returned home one night to see the police there, He learns the location of the criminal and ventures off seeking revenge.. until He sees the face of the man who killed Uncle Ben , the panic and shock could be seen through those prototype lenses, He was absolutely petrified! But the dialogue that caught his eye was what Parker said after the criminal was arrested alive in this version. Bakugou shakily says "My fault... All my fault.. If only I had stopped him when I could have... But I didn't... and now... Uncle Ben is dead..." He quotes
Izuku quickly quotes as well "And a lean, silent figure fades into the gathering darkness, aware at last that in this world, with great power there must also come... great responsibility!" Bakugou looks at him in shock, which made him chuckle "I reread that ending so many time I kinda memorized it.."
Bakugou looks back at the box to finish the issue "And so a legend is born.. and a new name is added to the roster of those who make the world of fantasy the most exciting world of all?..."
"Pretty high praise for what many of us here would label an irredeemable hero... But seeing all those worlds, I know that tagline was not wrong... in so many worlds, Spider-Man is a hero beyond compare even if the world was ending... He did not give in and gave a heroic smile, even if We didn't necessarily see it!" He excitedly shouts... before calming down and looking disappointedly at the floor "It made me think about myself, would I really be the same as I am now if I were given Spider-Man's abilities? I would to think I would.. but I honestly could not say, I don't think I would've been any better, I might have even used his abilities to, well.. hurt you."
Bakugou blinks, thinking of all the combat He had seen Spider-Man perform to think that could be a possibility was honestly a terrifying one.
"But even if I had failed in the beginning like Peter did, I would strive to redeem myself.. like He did... and I know that You can as well, Kacchan!" He slams his hand on the table "I know what You were thinking at the end of 'A friend called Spider-Man'! You were planning to quit!"
Bakugou flinched, was it that obvious
"If you quit now, you only show that You are incapable of redeeming yourself, and worst, you will spend your life focusing on a what if that never truly came to be! And I know you! You are better than that! You both are!"
Izuku clenches his fist tightly
"Spider-Man isn't the tale of a always good person receiving accolades and praises for doing the right thing every time, it is the tale of someone who strives to be better than the person He was once a long time ago, someone who does the right thing not because He is strong-armed into it, but genuinely strives to help people!" Izuku pats himself on the chest "I want to be better than the man I was today, who threw Peter Parker under the bus and You should better than the YOU You were before!"
Bakugou looks at the panting green haired boy before looking down at Amazing Fantasy 15... Looking at Spider-Man.. "What you are asking... It's impossible for me."
"You are wrong!" A voice unlike either of the two teens were heard
Bakugou looks around the abandoned room, searching for the voice "Huh?! Who was that- Y-You?!" Running over He sees.. Mahoro?
The young girl ran to him and huffed her cheeks like a chipmunk, dressed in a plain pink nightgown. She looked furious at him "I don't care about that other place! You are you!"
The explosive teen was shocked "No! I killed someone!"
Mahoro points to a bemused Izuku Midoriya "Deku is right there! He isn't dead! But He would've been if You didn't help him on my island!"
No-It's impossible, He never-Wait... What was He...
"Both of you saved Me and my little brother so many times back there, and You both got really hurt too! Even then, you fought and saved our lives! Deku couldn't have done it without you!"
He honestly couldn't remember too much before about the fight with Nine... But it's slowly coming together, He for a slim moment possessed a ember of One-For-All... and passed out afterwords because of the strain of the ability was too much for him... And Izuku was able to last this long with that damn power? Ouch...
"You promised me!" She yells at him "You promised to show Me what it takes to be number one! And You are just going to give up now!"
Bakugou recoils "I can't be number one... Not after what was found out..."
"Than don't be! Even if you aren't standing at the top, I will never forget what you did for me and my brother! And I hate heroes! I hated the fact my brother wants to run away and become a pro! But You changed my mind! Now I won't be scared for him, because I know you both will be there! Even if you say you aren't Bakugou, YOU. ARE. MY. HERO!" The small girl yells, her eyes brimming with tears
Katsuki Bakugou stares at the young girl in shock. How.. How can She still believe in him? He sucks! He was terrible! He... He's...
Mahoro gasps as She sees Bakugou slowly sniffle, tears brimming in his eyes that He refuses to release. In a last-ditch effort to not show weakness or general softness in front of her, Bakugou turns his head. Even if She couldn't quite see his face, She could hear the shakiness in his voice
"Thanks... Kid..."
Mahoro was shocked for a moment before She smiles at her hero, She walks over and gives the normally angry teen a hug, one that He did not dare to interupt.
'I guess... I have to try.. After all, I can't disappoint this little munchkin...'
Izuku Midoriya smiles at the distance, They say the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step and Kacchan will have to walk a while before He gets to a spot where the others would drop the issue.. But I know He can do it, because another showed us both the way.
'And maybe a few others as well..' He turns his gaze away from the two to see a figure hidden in the shadows looking at him with glowing gold eyes. Normally These eyes would fill him with dread, but now?
"I trust Mahoro didn't give you too much trouble?" He said calmly
Himiko Toga, now without her famous sweater, was only in the Sailor Fuku that was underneath as She leaned against an empty bookcase "Oh She did, I had to shove a sock in her jaw to get her not to scream for everyone to wake up, only shutted up when I told her your plan... You owe me, You know?" She eyes him devilishly with a smirk
"I already was, wasn't I?" He says weakly as He walked to her
"Darn tootin!" She licks her lips before looking back at the boy and girl "... Still can't believed You helped him..."
"If I want to be a real hero, I had to try... I knew He has the potential to be one of the great's, all He really needed was a reality check..."
"A reality check is what you call it?" She sounded unimpressed as She watches the love "Redemptions aren't possible for everyone, You know?"
Deku frowns, He knew what She was going to say "Maybe not... but it is always worth a try."
"I try to redeem myself and I'll get sent away, I want you to know that." Toga mumbles, her golden eyes narrowed "I've done too much that They would just let me go if I happen to flash my eyelashes and say sorry, my bridge has already been burnt." She spits, not lost on what the most likely scenario for herself was now. Tartarus or Death. Both being pretty much the same to her.
The greenette sighs, He knew plenty of what Toga has done so far in her criminal career and He only truly knew of what has been confirmed so He really didn't knew how far the girl had truly gone. "I know... It might seem like a fool's hope, but I can tell... You have a good heart."
Toga pouts "Spoken like a true protag, you ain't letting go even if It's easier... But I guess that's what I like about you.. as well as your yummy blood."
Izuku rolled his eyes, knowing it would come back to that. He presented his finger "A promise is a promise..."
Toga smiles as She held Izuku's whole hand in both of hers "That's one thing I can say I like about you heroes... You always like to keep your promises." She breathes heavily as She takes in his musk
Izuku blushes "Just hurry... Kacchan will be done soon.."
Toga pouts "Oh poo, thinking about other people when You should be thinking about.. Me.. CHU~!" She bites into his finger immediately after her piece. She preforms many of the same moves She did before in the closet. And it continued to make Deku feel oh so awkward... and alittle of something else...
*Slurp Slurp* *Lick Lick* "Ha... Ha..."
Deku glowed up like a Christmas tree, oh seriously! It's even now starting to sound like one of... 'those' videos...
Yes He knows about that type of 'content' on the internet. One doesn't spend a significant amount of time in a classroom with Minoru Mineta and not know what the hell He is talking about... except maybe if You are Todoroki.
Deku's blood immediately dropped the moment He heard the sound of a scratchy throat nearby. He slowly turned his eyes to see Katsuki looking at him with a look of disbelief as He covered every way of vision from Mahoro to protect her from whatever the hell was going on here.
Izuku looks at the absolute look of disgust on Bakugou's face and then to the uninterrupted slurping of blood by Toga before returning his gaze to Bakugou before giving up "Okay, I can explain."
[10 minutes later]
"And now I asked her to get Mahoro for our talk and She put up a fight and- Well... You know Toga, She wanted it before I said it was okay, okay?"
Katsuki Bakugou looks like He had seen some serious shit during the explanation, but He quickly shakes his head to ward off the disgust "I'm honestly starting to think you like this shit, seriously..."
Izuku sighs "Seems like it... You okay? You got all of that drama out?"
The explosive teen sighs and holds a now sleeping Mahoro in his arms, went out like a light in the middle of the interrogation "Yeah... I mean, there is still some.. but I won't give up just yet, or else this little snot is gonna sock me one..."
Izuku gives a light chuckle "that's good..."
*Slurp!*
'IS SHE STILL GOING?!' Both Deku and Bakugou mentally scream as to not wake up Mahoro
"T-Toga-Chan?.. Think You got your fill?" Deku says awkwardly
Toga stops the lick to look up to Deku "Aww, you sure I can't have more?"
He blushes "It's getting late and We still have tomorrow to deal with.."
She pouts "Fine... I'll take Ms Biter there and get her to her room... You two do whatever guys do when alone..." She walks up to Bakugou, who gives her a targeted glare before relenting Mahoro to her under the promise of no funny business
Soon the two girls were gone and the two childhood friends were left alone.
"I can't believe You are actually doing that with her of all people..." Bakugou looks at Deku with a glance
The green boy answers with a sigh "She found me after the the goblin attacked May in Raimi Spider-Man.. and I owe her one for getting me out of my funk then."
The blond sighs as well "Today was... something."
"That's an understatement... I honestly was not planning to have that known about you, I knew it would only hurt your prospects and... I just couldn't do that... Even if you did kinda deserve it..."
Bakugou huffs "Good to a fault, aren't you?"
"Yup, not Spider-Man in the slightest." Deku laughs
"Maybe not yet... but maybe one day." the ex-bully shrugs
The two stood in silence for just a moment "So... You and vampire girl? You a thing?"
Deku blushes "No! No... I mean, She really is nice and all but Toga says She really likes me and- We both know I have zero experience with girls and I honestly can say, I am freaking out!" He yells that last part right into Bakugou's face, looking slightly manic
He pushes off the worried One-For-All holder "Yeah... I can see that."
Deku sighs "I mean... She is cute when She isn't thinking about.. Y'know? Cutting me up?"
"I ain't gonna judge you, Your love life is really not my concern..." Bakugou mumbles while leaning on a shelve
"What about you?" Deku honestly asks
The explosive teen blushes "Why do you ask?"
"We've been talking about me for the last couple of minutes and I'm honestly curious if anyone has caught your eye... I mean, We are talking again..."
Bakugou looks at Deku for a moment, then looks at the floor, then at the ceiling, then back to Deku who was still waiting, then He mumbles something inaudible
"Eh?" Deku squeaks
Bakugou merely mumbles louder under his breath
Deku blinks "Come again?"
Bakugou finally explodes "Shiozaki! Fuck!"
Deku recoils and blinks "Honestly was not expecting her..." He looks over to see Bakugou red in the face "Have you ever... talked to her? I don't think You ever have..."
Bakugou sighs "No... I just had my eye on her for a while... mostly the festival and then the Class-B fight..."
"I see..." Deku scratches his head "I honestly did not expect you to say her..."
"Well... I do, got a problem?" He glares
"Nope! It's totally cool!" Deku says quickly "It's kinda... off? I honestly expected you to like Uraraka-San or-"
"WHAT THE FUCK?!" Bakugou screeches "What the hell would you say that?!"
Deku blinks, He liked Uraraka himself since that day They took the entrance exam together but resigned himself to just being her friend since He lacked any game. Even then, He couldn't help but feel annoyed at the instant dismiss, Uraraka was beautiful! He and Toga admitted that... which was weird to find out but whatever... "I mean, you two do argue a lot and stuff, honestly would fit your parents dynamic..."
"Not my type." Bakugou flatly denies any ounce of this possibility, which mostly stems from the fact He knows who pink cheeks really has the hots for and the fact She thinks He is more trash than usual. "I respect her as a fighter and an ally against villains, but I do not see pink cheeks like that, more like a bratty little sister."
He would never admit it, but Deku felt a great weight lifted off his chest "Okay... But what is your type?"
Bakugou sighs as He fights off the blush "I... honestly don't know... I think I like Shiozaki... because She is everything I am not."
"Oh?"
Bakugou stares at the floor, and embarrassed glow to his face "She's kind... and smart, pure and courteous, things that would make the me of yesterday throw up in his mouth if it were anyone else... I guess She is the exception."
"Seems like it.." Deku says awkwardly, before patting Bakugou on the back "Well, You got my support..."
If He were the him from the day before, He would tell Deku to shove it, but today? "... Thanks... Izuku."
Deku grimaces "Please say Deku, that feels so unnatural."
"Seriously? But-"
"I already took the Deku name for myself, it isn't an insult anymore, it's cool." Deku says quickly
"Okay... Deku." Bakugou blinks "It feels so weird not to shout that name out."
Deku thinks about it "Yeah, it does..."
Bakugou begins making his way out of the library "You coming?"
Deku thinks about it for a second before remembering Amazing Fantasy 15 "I'm gonna return the comic, you go on without me."
Bakugou nods and goes to leave
A thought came to Deku "Kacchan!" The teen turns around to look at him "Are... We friends again?"
"Huh?" Bakugou's eyes widen "Huh?"
"I just want to know... Are We friends again? I keep telling people We were, but I want to know from you, are We still friends?...For real this time?"
Bakugou thinks for a moment "Yeah... We're friends."
Deku smiles "Awesome!"
Bakugou smiles back before leaving the library
"If you need help with Shiozaki, you can look at my notes!"
"Don't push it!" He shouts back before the door closes
Deku sighs, that was a rather eventful half an hour. He grabs the issue He had and returned to place it back where it was... only to find another issue there. "Eh?" He places Amazing Fantasy down and picked up this issue "Amazing Spider-Man#1?"
Madame Web, in a smokey room that was her usual haunt, She watches as Young Izuku Midoriya slowly begin reading the issues of the Spider-Man from the universe 616, a very through look at the stories they will all be looking to, She would not be able to show all of them the events in the comic worlds, as They would simply take far too much time, so this was a nice compromise, a library to view the universe at one's leisure, though She will keep it a secret just a bit longer, Midoriya looks like He He wants first dibs on the material since He was already taking notes on issue 3
Perhaps now She could work on that secret project that-
She perks up, noticing some strange movements in one of the rooms, She could sense someone was having a nightmare.
"We will stop you!" Deku shines his green light around him as He stares down his foe. A man made of water! He charges his opponent "Smash!"
He tries punching the man, but his arm goes through! Now it was stuck! "Lemillion!"
"Busy!" The hero Lemillion yells as He holds back a giant dragon from biting him
"No... Please... Fight!" A young voice shouts, making it known the voice belong to a girl
"Eri..." The girl slowly turns around to see the person who haunts her nightmares return... with a friend.
"Can the little monster come out to play? Hehe..." The green monster laughs as it and Overhaul slowly walk to her
"Eri... You cause so many problems..."
"No!" Lemillion grunts as the dragon presses into him
"Eri! Gah!" Deku yells as the water man grows and covers him in water!
"No... please... help..."
"You... Are..." Green Goblin laughs- Before He gets a face full of webbing!
Eri blinks Huh?
"What?! Guh!" Overhaul was then kicked away like nothing! And then the kicker quickly span in a circle and kicked the goblin away as well!
Eri looked up to see who saved her, It was... Spider-Man!
"Am I late to the party?" He happily says, firing a thing at the water man, making him rocky. This lets Deku break free!
Deku then quickly kicks the dragons mouth away from Lemillion who then sends the monster away to join the other villains.
Spider-Man, Deku and Lemillion stand against villains who looked very mean.
"You ready?" Deku says, ready to fight
"Why? You getting sleepy?" Spider-Man jokes
"HAHA! Nice one!" Lemillion laughs as They stand against their many foes who glare angrily at them
"All right Spider-Friends!" Spider-Man, Deku and Lemillion all run at the villains
"GO FOR IT!"
Eri blinks awake in surprise, did that.. really happen?
She sat up on her bed and saw the small Spider-Plushie nearing the edge, ready to fall. She quickly grabs it and holds it tight
She whispers "Thank you... all of you..."
She had always had nightmares, never did She have dreams. Dreams were always crumbled into dust as the nightmares took over, nightmares... have the strength that you give them. Someone taught her that She didn't have to give them any. That She can dream happy dreams. That She can be... happy.
That She can find the way to move on from the life She once had completely. She owed that do her heroes.
Eri lay her head on her soft pillow and dreamed the most wonderous of dreams, of heroism, adventure and love. She had the best of dreams
Madame Web smiles, even without proper eyes, She could see Eri has finally completed her road to recovery, She had been on her path for so long, but now that8 little girl can rest easy, thanks to the true heroes in her life.
Speaking of rest easy...
She snaps her fingers and returns to the theater room... but it was arranged differently, with far fewer seats and just as few people occupying those seats
"Ugh... Can I see the zombie one again? This sappy stuff is killing me..." A white haired woman with tan skin, a outfit with a distinct rabbit motif said, as She was bored with the last world, liking the hardcore action of other ones. She was Rumi Usagiyama also known as the rabbit hero, Mirko.
"I thought it was quite nice." A young woman with white with some red thrown in at random spots, a form-fitting sweater over a black shirt and pants. She had like the more emotional parts of the journey's as the action made her a bit on edge. She was the only daughter of the Todoroki line, Fuyumi Todoroki
"Especially after that zombie world and that final battle in the first one." shrugged a young man in a blue jacket, white hair and casual clothes. He was the second son of the Todoroki line, Natsuo Todoroki.
Another in the room did not speak, as She was content with how her children were interacting with others, something She had missed in her time away from them all. She wore modest white pajamas and fluffy slippers, She was the matriarch of the Todoroki family, Rei Todoroki.
"Oh man, that was epic! I just want to see that shit on repeat!" Mirko shouts, showing her abrasive side.
"Such a loud mouth.." frowned an older gentleman who was on the shorter side, with white hair and a white outfit with a yellow cape and boots and a black domino mask. He was Sorahiko Torino a mostly retired hero known as Gran Torino. "Deserves a right kick in the pants.."
"You wanna go old man?!"
"Such an event... I can't believe this is why We are summoned for." monotonely said by a lanky man with green hair with a little yellow in there. He wore a gray suit and spectacles had the most resting-bitch-face imageable., given him the impression of a done with life bank-teller. He was known as Mirai Sasaki, the pro hero known as Sir Nighteye.
"What do you mean, Sonny Jim?" Gran torino turns his attention away from an irritated Mirko to look to at All Might's former sidekick, still not believing the situation They were in. Because Nighteye is supposed to be dead.
"We are here to examine the life of Spider-Man, but what is the actual purpose? I don't suppose it is just for the amusement of ourselves? Otherwise what would be the point?" Sir Nighteye began to break apart the 'WHY' of why They were there. Honestly events like this only happen if random fanfiction authors want to describe how other characters would react to other characters. He wouldn't know. He never written fan-fiction before. You can never prove it.
"They don't call you Night-EYE for nothing..." giggles the voice of Madame Web as She appears in the room
"Dear lady.." Gran Torino cleans up his posture to be more presentable "To what do We owe the pleasure?"
"Oh, I was just watching our other guests to see how They were doing."
"Others?" questions Fuyumi
"Well yes, You are not to only ones here, I also summoned the rest of your family as well as Young Shouto's classmates to a separate room."
"Hold up, Shouto is here?" Fuyumi stands up "Is he okay?"
Madame Web waves a calming hand "Yes, have no fear, they had finished their viewing for the day as well and are now resting, I ask you to rest as well and to ask if you wish to see them tomorrow."
"I-Is that alright?" Natsuo looks at his mother with some fear, not sure if He was ready to migrate her with his father anytime soon.
Madame Web sensed his reluctance "Have no fear, my child, I will not force any of you to do so if You do not have the desire. I do believe some of you might be a bit much for a surprise."
Sir Nighteye adjusts his glasses "Indeed, seeing how some of us... shouldn't be around, as it may?" He says, unsure of his own situation "I shall withheld myself to this room until further notice."
Mirko chews on a carrot "Meh, I don't really care as long as We get more fights, if All Might and Endeavor are in the next room, something cool might happen."
"I'll stay with Mom, you keep an eye on Shouto, sis." Natsuo says, to her surprise
"A-Are you sure? I don't want-"
"It's okay, I don't think Dad.." Natsuo says awkwardly, his own experiences with his father being complicated enough for a book to be written about it "will try and come here, and We can see each other after our viewings are done."
Fuyumi looks a bit conflicted with herself, this might be the closest She could get but-
"Fuyumi," The young girl perks up as She sees her mother stare at her with a smile "Go, I know you really want do."
Fuyumi bites her lip and nods "I'll see you guys at the end of this."
"Well, I know Toshi is going to do something stupid if I don't, ah what the hey." Gran Torino shrugs as He munches on his taiyaki. He pans his eyes to the side to see a single chair, off by itself. "You?"
Sitting in that chair is a woman of impressive build. She lad long black hair tied in a ponytail and a mole under her lip, She wore a dark sleeveless bodysuit, yellow gloves and white boots, a red waistcape and a pure white cape adorning her shoulders. She looked conflicted. She sighed.
Her name was Nana Shimura.
Izuku Midoriya lifted himself from the floor like a zombie.
He groggily looks at the floor that He was once was and sees issues of comic books. All issues of Spider-Man's adventures.
He had made the promise to stop at 10 issues to see how the story progress. That was He promised.
He ended up reading almost 50 comics.
They were very engaging stories, and thought provoking as well. He saw a lot of progression with Peter.. and a small period where He slowly back-pedaled for a moment but He recovered after that. But what also He found interesting were the villains, He saw a wide range of powers and abilities on display, He even found the green goblin through it... Less said about him the better
He had read so far into the comics because He knew They will see these foes again on the big screen and He wanted to be prepared, and even listed a few that He wanted to see. The vulture was one He wanted to see again in a movie like setting, seeing as He didn't get much screen time, Sand-Man as well but He wasn't in a rush for him. What He wanted to see so far were the likes of the lizard, seeing how Peter was able to cure him and return him to his family as well as knowing He exists in this universe so He can very well be a possible foe to cure. Then there were the like of Mysterio and Electro, foes who were quite powerful in two different ways, one was dangerous via his mental mind tricks and the other with overwhelming power.
Then there was him.
One He actually feared near the grounds of the green goblin, one foe who pushed Spider-Man to his breaking point and caused him to find what He should focus on above all else. Even without powers himself, this foe could very well upstage even All-For-One in the criminal empire if He was anything like these comics could show.
The master planner himself. Doctor Octopus.
Izuku sighs and stacks the issues accordingly. In his notes, He managed to read in completion up to 49, He had yet to read issue 50 but He had seen it's cover
"Spider-Man no more?"
