Contrary to Emira's expectations, she did not find anyone from the Moonville Pack obstructing her path or even appearing in front of her. The absence felt strange. She had fully expected them to block her way, or at the very least confront her the moment she stepped onto their land. Or rather surround her, as was ALpha Soier's usual method.
Instead, she walked on uninterrupted. More unsettling still was the fact that she had not even encountered a single guard along the way. It was as though the pack had vanished.
If not for the still well-maintained cobbled paths beneath her feet, Emira might have believed the place had been abandoned entirely. The land itself showed no signs of neglect. Everything was intact. Orderly. And that made the silence stand out even more.
It did not feel empty. It felt intentional. Slowly, the thought settled in her mind that they were not gone at all-they were avoiding her.
