"The Domain of Five Elements Rotation..." It seemed that this Qilin Douluo had awakened a spiritual domain and had immersed himself in this path for a long time. The unicorn opened its mouth, and a multicolored flame spewed toward Bai Xu.
Bai Xu did not dodge. Covered in the five-colored mystic light, his expression was unreadable as he was engulfed by the multicolored flames.
Within the flames, Bai Xu felt as though the heavens and earth were spinning. The Five Elements True Fire clashed with his own five-colored mystic light, creating a sensation of purification and scouring. Even the mystic light dimmed slightly.
Yet, when the sea of flames dissipated, his figure remained tall and unyielding. Bai Xu's mastery of the Five Elements had reached such a profound level that the Qilin Douluo's Five Elements Rotation seemed unable to gain traction—as if it were trying to erode a towering mountain, failing to shake it in the slightest.
"You've actually reached this level?!" Tong Yu was shocked. The five-colored mystic light defied all reason—it contained the secrets of creation within and the power of mutual generation and restraint without. There was even a sense of distortion and reversal, rendering his Five Elements True Fire utterly ineffective. At best, it could only weaken a fraction of the mystic light as an attack.
For Bai Xu, defeating Tong Yu would have been simple. In the path of the Five Elements, Tong Yu had not walked as far as he had. Tong Yu was confined to Bai Xu's earlier understanding of the Five Elements, having only cultivated the surface without grasping the essence. Had Bai Xu employed the Reversal Method, Tong Yu's martial soul would likely have been overturned, leading to his defeat.
But... Bai Xu felt a sudden insight at this moment. He opened his right hand, and the five elements—wood, fire, earth, metal, and water—manifested in sequence, forming a small rotating circle. Then, within the center of that circle, what appeared to be a miniature landmass emerged. Life began to flourish in the palm of his hand.
There were animals and plants, followed by the changing of seasons, the passage of time, the death of life, and the arrival of rebirth. All things of the Five Elements followed this cycle.
Bai Xu lowered his gaze and sighed softly in his heart: "The Six Paths of Reincarnation—it is said that all living beings are like a spinning wheel within these paths, cycling endlessly without cease. None can escape. Thus, it is said: 'All beings are submerged in the sea of life and death, trapped in the cycle of reincarnation with no way out.'"
"The Five Elements are the same."
"With the Five Elements as the foundation, the great divine powers of space, time, fate, and karma construct the Tribulation of Reincarnation. All life exists within the cycle of the Five Elements, changing alongside them. Through the shifts of time, the turning of ages, and the transformation of oceans into mulberry fields, the old is replaced by the new in an unending cycle."
"This is the Reincarnation of the Five Elements."
Bai Xu withdrew from the state of five-colored mystic light, leaving only traces of reincarnation energy coiled around his two large hands. Meanwhile, the meridians within his body shimmered with mystic light, though Bai Xu suppressed it within, preventing others from perceiving it.
With the complete opening of the Yin-Yang meridians in his hands and feet, Bai Xu's aura grew even more terrifying. Dark clouds gathered in the sky, lightning flashed, and thunder rumbled. The entire Star Luo Imperial Capital was shrouded in shadow. The killing intent in the air silenced everyone present, leaving them staring dumbfounded at the extraordinary figure in the heavens.
The horn on the head of Tong Yu's Five Elements Unicorn glowed, and a streak of multicolored light shot forth, thin as a needle. His eighth soul ring flashed, but just as the unicorn's body was about to follow through with the attack, it sensed an overwhelming aura of death and halted mid-step.
The multicolored light was blocked by Bai Xu's hands, now wreathed in black energy. Then, as if beyond control, it was dragged into a cycle of reincarnation, grinding away until it was completely extinguished without even a hint of its former might.
That eighth soul skill was the most powerful attack Tong Yu, as a Limit Douluo, could unleash. His ninth soul skill was called the Great Five Elements Divine Light Shield.
Because his eighth soul skill's offensive power was already overwhelmingly strong, having another powerful attack as his ninth soul skill would have been meaningless. Instead, he opted for an ability that could complement his eighth soul skill and leave his opponents with nowhere to hide.
But now, it seemed there was no need to use it. Tong Yu exited his martial soul avatar state, clasped his fists, and said, "This time, I admit defeat. However, given your significant progress, would you consider leaving the Imperial Capital? The Spirit Pagoda here has already been destroyed, so there's no further purpose in staying."
Hearing this, Bai Xu frowned slightly. Truthfully, he had not yet had his fill of battle. These fists imbued with reincarnation had yet to be tested in a true fight—he did not even know their full power.
At that moment, En Ci slowly stepped out from the void. After sensing the oppressive aura of the darkened skies, he realized that capturing Bai Xu by himself was now impossible. He had no choice but to lower his stance and speak in a conciliatory tone: "Might I ask for Your Excellency's honorable title?"
Clearly, En Ci regarded Bai Xu as a Limit Douluo—someone of his own rank, if not beyond.
The question caught Bai Xu off guard. He stepped past En Ci, glancing at the Darkflame Douluo being supported by Spirit Pagoda members, then at Gu Yuena, who bore minor injuries from the battle. Retracting his gaze, his figure gradually grew illusory as he spoke: "This sovereign... is the Immortal Lord of the Five Elements' Marvelous Art."
Then, his presence vanished entirely.
En Ci sighed in relief. Fortunately, this individual was willing to grant him—and the Star Luo Empire—face. Had Bai Xu chosen to engage him in battle above the capital, regardless of the outcome, the greatest losses would have fallen upon Star Luo.
Moreover, from Bai Xu's earlier words, it seemed his vendetta against the Spirit Pagoda and the Holy Spirit Cult was to demand an explanation—specifically from the Spirit Pagoda?
That alone suggested this matter was far from simple.
But this was not something their empire could interfere in. This confrontation ended with the destruction of the Spirit Pagoda's largest branch tower, the perpetrator escaping unscathed. It was easy to imagine that the Spirit Pagoda would soon take action—otherwise, their so-called "Eighteen Heavenly Pillars" might soon find themselves reduced to mere figureheads.
"What nonsense 'Immortal Lord'—he's a Demon Lord!"
"Everyone, he is clearly a evil soul master!"
"Spirit Pagoda Envoy Gu Yuena, convene a meeting! I will report directly to the Tower Master. The Spirit Pagoda will no longer tolerate this Demon Monarch's actions!" Zhang Geyang roared in fury. To have his headquarters destroyed and the culprit allowed to leave unscathed was nothing short of a monumental humiliation!
Seeing this, the others dispersed. What followed would be the Spirit Pagoda's internal affair. As long as the Imperial Capital remained unharmed, that was enough.
Dai Tianling stared at the ruined Spirit Pagoda, a headache forming. He could only hope Bai Xu would leave a few Spirit Pagoda branches intact on the Star Luo Continent for soul masters to purchase spirit souls. Antagonizing a Limit Douluo over this would be unwise.
Still, Bai Xu had shown restraint, targeting only the Spirit Pagoda. That great sun-like attack had melted only metal, focusing on the Pagoda's soul technology and the Spirit Ascension Platform—destroying its very foundation.
Tang Wulin had witnessed the entire event. Even the Smiling Douluo beside him had worn a grave expression upon seeing Bai Xu. Without a doubt, this "Immortal Lord" had stepped into the realm of Limit Douluo, perhaps even reaching half-step divine power. Only figures like the Emotionless or Passionate Douluos could rival him.
Yet, the Smiling Douluo soon regained his composure. Seeing the Spirit Pagoda suffer such a blow was a sight the Tang Sect could certainly appreciate.
The dark clouds dispersed, and sunlight once again bathed the land.
This incident swept through the Imperial Capital like a tidal wave, and Bai Xu's name spread far and wide. However, the title "Immortal Lord of the Five Elements' Marvelous Art" did not stick. Having defeated the Five Elements Qilin Douluo Tong Yu—who openly admitted that his mastery of the Five Elements was inferior to this newcomer—another epithet for Bai Xu spread even more widely.
He came to be known as:
"The Demon Lord of the Five Elements' Ultimate Law."
