The next morning arrived and Sara was already moving around the camp making breakfast. William emerged from his tent to find the sun just breaking through the forest canopy and the air still carrying the cool freshness that usually came at night.
"Day seven in paradise," Sara announced while tending the fire. "We're officially past the scheduled extraction by two full days."
Marcus was doing a perimeter check while Seraphina had already started her morning training routine. Lyanna sat near the stream as usual, with her books spread around her in the morning light. While Claire was still in her tent, apparently not a morning person despite the days they had spent here.
William took his position under his tree and began his morning cultivation practice. He was so close to reaching a threshold for his fire gate, and since he didn't know how long he would be here he had to take advantage of his environment which provided great conditions for advancement.
