"Lena and Luke," I called out, slowly. "Who's the father of these kids? And why is Laura keeping it a secret? The public knows nothing about her kids' father. And hardly knows anything about her kids." I sighed, scrolling through photos of Laura on my phone. There she was smiling with that fake innocence, her soft brown hair falling perfectly around her shoulders. Always graceful. Always adored.
I zoomed in on one photo where she stood next to Shawn at a charity gala. His arm was around her, his eyes glowing with the kind of warmth that used to be mine.
My fingers tightened around the phone. "You think you've won, don't you?" I muttered. "You think your perfect little halo makes you untouchable?"
