Chapter 11 - Tips

The teacher concluded his speech by pointing at the weapon tower. "Weapons would be used freely depending on your ranks, but from the weeks going by, weapons would be given to you depending on your stats. The power of your stats determines the efficiency of your weapon. Each group would be given the opportunity to select their weapons for the test practice five minutes from now."

As the teacher gestured for the members of group 1 to step forward and select their weapons, Wren waited anxiously for her turn. Finally, it was her group's turn, and she stepped forward to examine the tower. The weapon tower stood tall, its surface adorned with an array of snipers. The rifles gleamed in the light, each one unique in its design and functionality. The tower seemed to be a combination of ancient stonework and modern steel, a testament to the academy's blend of old and new. Luckily, there were reliable weapons available for her. She stared at the board, looking for a less heavy, easy-to-handle, yet efficient sniper to use. Then she spotted a tiger-striped sniper that caught her eye. It seemed like the perfect fit - lightweight, easy to handle, and efficient.

After selecting their snipers, a notification appeared on the screen. A notification appeared on the screen, detailing the practical test. The test required each group to shoot their dummies ten times in the head without missing. If a group member missed, their group would have 100 points taken away from their accounts. The screen displayed the rules and regulations of the test, leaving no room for ambiguity.

.The practical test seemed to be a challenging task, requiring precision and accuracy. The dummies stood at a distance, their heads serving as targets. The snipers lay ready, waiting to be used.

Wren sighed, feeling a bit overwhelmed. She had expected the practical test to be simple, especially since it was their first day. But it seemed the academy lived up to its name - it was no easy place for weaklings.

As she looked around at her group members, she noticed that they were all having a discussion. A girl with silver-colored hair was trying to boost their morale, saying, "It is not going to be easy, but I have faith in my group members that we would pass." However, despite her encouraging words, the other members of the group looked doubtful and skeptical.

Wren had a bit of experience with archery, thanks to her grandfather's teachings when she was younger. She knew that using a sniper required focus, precision, and control.

"Hey , I have some tips for using snipers," Wren said, trying to sound confident.

"First, make sure you're comfortable with your stance and grip. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, and hold the sniper with a firm but not overly tight grip. This will help you maintain control and stability.

The group looked at her with interest"Next, focus on your breathing. Take deep, slow breaths, and try to steady your aim. When you're inhaling, your body will naturally rise slightly, and when you're exhaling, your body will sink slightly. Try to time your shot with the moment when you're exhaling, as this will help you maintain a steady aim.

"Now, let's talk about aligning the crosshairs with the target. Use the scope to get a clear view of the target, and adjust the crosshairs to account for the distance and wind resistance. Remember, the farther away the target, the more you'll need to adjust your aim.

"When you're ready to take the shot, squeeze the trigger gently. Don't jerk the trigger, or you'll throw off your aim. Instead, apply gentle, consistent pressure to the trigger, and let the rifle do the work.

"Also, remember to account for wind resistance and distance. The wind can affect the trajectory of the bullet, so you'll need to adjust your aim accordingly. And the farther away the target, the more you'll need to compensate for the bullet's drop.

"Let's practice together and see if we can get those perfect shots. Remember to stay focused, and don't get distracted. Keep your eyes on the target, and trust your training. With practice and patience, we can nail this test and show the academy what we're capable of."

With renewed determination, the group began to practice, with Wren sharing her tips and tricks for using snipers effectively. Time was running out, but Wren was determined to help her group pass the test.

The group used slingshots as their tools, and they practiced shooting at test subjects set up by Wren. The sound of stones echoed through the air as they honed their skills. By the time they had gripped and mastered how to use their snipers efficiently, the time had run out.

The teacher's voice boomed through the room, "Well, the first group, step up." The members of the first group walked out, and Wren seemed to recognize one member of the group. It was the red-haired girl, Elsa, whom she still didn't know much about. Elsa had a fiery red hair that cascaded down reaching her shoulder. Her eyes were a piercing green, and her posture exuded confidence.

As Elsa stepped up, a large screen displayed for everyone to see, showing the target dummy in vivid detail. The screen was a massive billboard-style display, stretching across the entire width of the room. It was a sleek, modern design, with vibrant colors and crystal-clear images. The screen seemed to come alive, displaying the target dummy in stunning detail.

Elsa stood confidently, holding the sniper firmly and staring intently at her target. Her feet were shoulder-width apart, and her body was perfectly balanced. She took a deep breath, and then everyone could hear the sound of shots being fired, about ten in quick succession. When the sound was cleared, the dummy was revealed to have been shot at the head with precision.

Her group clapped for her, smirks of victory plastered on their faces. Every single member of the group shot with precision, none of them losing sight of their moving targets. The next group performed equally well, with no single fail. Wren recognized a member of the group - Kai Blackwood.

The third group wasn't as lucky, and one student missed the target, resulting in 100 points being deducted from their account. The fourth group fared no better, but when it came to the fifth group, Wren's group, the members were initially having wobbly feet. However, thanks to Wren's training, there was no single miss. They were a bit slower than the first two groups, but their accuracy was spot on.

On the large billboard screen, the groups were ranked according to their performance. The first group was Group 1, followed closely by Group 2, then Group 5, Group 4, and Group 3. The teacher appeared on the screen, a smirk drawn on his lips.

"Nice performance, Group 1 and Group 2," he said. "For your accuracy, speed, and precision, an amount of 100 points has been awarded to each member. Class is adjourned."

Wren's eyes dimmed slightly, but she was at least glad that no one in her group had failed. However, her moment of peace was short-lived. As Kai walked by, he smacked her head with his two fingers. "Got skills, but still slow," he mocked.

"Don't think I have forgotten what you did to me, and I wouldn't go easy on your group if we clashed one day," he whispered in her ear before walking away. Wren felt a surge of annoyance at Kai's words.

As Kai left, her group members joined her, looking concerned. "Don't tell me you know Kai Blackwood," the silver-haired girl said, shaking involuntarily. "Could you introduce me to him? I find him kinda cute." The silver-haired girl's eyes sparkled with interest as she gazed at Kai's retreating figure. Wren glanced wryly at the girl without replying. Although Kai was indeed handsome, she knew him to be a cruel, vicious, and shrewd person whom she would never associate with.
