Chapter 131 - Chapter 131: Those People Are the Real Gods

When Enel saw that tablet of inscriptions, he remembered something from one of the important journals he had once read.

Back when he was about to leave, worried that the contents of the notebook might be lost, he engraved its crucial records onto his ship using his powers.

That was why the strange silver vessel was covered in ancient writing.

That particular passage came from a diary, one that recorded the research of Bika's greatest figure—research that had actually succeeded.

That project… was the development of Devil Fruits.

The fruits documented on that tablet were not ordinary. They were terrifying creations, each with the power to destroy the world.

Take his own Goro Goro no Mi, for instance. Was it powerful?

Yes. Strong enough to overwhelm nearly anyone. But compared to the Devil Fruits listed on that stone tablet, even his mighty Logia ability was nothing.

Because, as those ancient people had discovered from the very beginning, the path of the Logia was not the ultimate law. In time, Logias would be bound by natural limits.

The most terrifying fruits were not the Logias known to the world at large… but rather the Mythical Zoans and the Hito Hito no Mi line.

Having learned the origin of Devil Fruits, Enel came to understand that he was no god at all.

The ones who created the Devil Fruits—they were the true gods, beings far more terrifying.

Recalling this, Enel couldn't help but sigh again.

"Where is that person?"

By now, Enel's interest in "Ghidorah" had grown deeper still.

"I don't know," Robin replied, shaking her head. "But where we're going is connected to that creature."

Her answer clearly left Enel unsatisfied.

Even so, a lead was better than nothing. And since their destination overlapped with his own goal, he decided to remain on Zou.

Back aboard his ship, he brought down a few of the small robots and had them arrange his temporary quarters.

Though he had given up calling himself a god, some of his bad habits lingered. In certain matters, he still wouldn't lift a hand himself.

"Shh—GAI…"

Watching the little robots clean rooms and repair buildings, Luffy's eyes lit up like stars.

The whole Straw Hat crew stared in shock at the busy little machines.

Franky, especially, looked stunned. His eyes widened with disbelief, as if he had just found his own kind.

He even joined in, working alongside the robots.

As they spent time together, the crew realized to their astonishment that these little robots could speak—and even had their own thoughts.

"Wala wala wala…"

The words were incomprehensible, but through gestures and body language, they could make out the meaning.

"Incredible…" Franky muttered, hauling a massive stone out of a collapsed structure, glancing at the robot gesturing beside him. "I'd give anything to see the place you were made."

"Wala wala wala…"

"What a shame!"

"Wala wala wala…"

"Hahaha! Well, if you've got no home, then of course this place is your home now…"

"…"

The more they interacted, the more they realized these robots longed only for peace.

Time flowed on. Carried by Zunesha, the crew drew steadily closer to Wano.

Meanwhile, not far from the great elephant's path, a black ship sailed the seas. It bore no flag, no insignia—nothing but the look of a merchant vessel.

Aside from its busy sailors, two men stood on deck: one, a middle-aged man in a black kimono; the other, a young man with a black-and-white spotted hat.

"My crew. Where are they?"

Trafalgar Law narrowed his eyes at the kimono-clad man beside him, his face hardening.

They had sailed together for days, and despite all his probing, he had yet to learn anything about his missing crewmates. He could not shake the suspicion that this man had something to do with it.

If that were true, then why hide the truth, even after Law had already agreed to his every demand?

"As long as you do one last thing for me, I'll tell you where they are," the man in the kimono said, his voice calm as he stared toward the sea ahead. "Rest assured—they're safe. Nothing will happen to them before my death."

But as he spoke, his eyes sharpened. As though sensing something, he suddenly turned and gazed into the waters behind them.

Law frowned and followed his glance.

Behind them stretched a sky darkened with clouds, a sea veiled in thin mist. His eyes found nothing but haze.

He scowled.

The man in the kimono smirked faintly, as though half explaining, half muttering to himself:

"What a troublesome creature… a thousand years, and still so unruly."

"Faster," he ordered sharply. "Make for Wano at once."

Law didn't know what the man had noticed, but at his command the sailors sprang into action, working frantically to drive the vessel ahead.

The black-hulled ship cut through the waves with sudden urgency.

Feeling its speed, Law had a strange impression: it was as though the ship were fleeing. As though, within that fog behind them, something dreadful was in pursuit.

He told himself the thought was absurd… but deep down, an unease gripped him too.

The mist hung thick, blinding all sight. But if it were to clear, and one could look down from the skies above…

They would see the truth: across that vast sea, countless warships were sailing—each and every prow aimed toward Wano.

Not far from Law's vessel, another ship—dragon-prowed—cut through the waves. On its deck lounged a group of pirates, casual and relaxed.

Toward the stern, a group of young people and a white bear sat quietly.

No chains bound them. No guards surrounded them. They simply sat.

If Law had been there, he would have recognized them instantly: his missing crew.

"Boss, why are we suddenly heading to that place?"

A fat man gnawing on a chicken leg asked the red-haired man at their head, puzzlement written across his broad face.

The red-haired man did not answer at once. His eyes, sharp and filled with heavy concern, gazed into the distance.

At last, he spoke:

"A great upheaval is coming. No one will escape it."

"Maybe our strength alone can't change anything… but I know this much—the time has come to fulfill the promise we once made to our captain."

As though sensing something, his eyes swept the sea around them, his unease only deepening.

"I can already feel the presence of danger. Tell everyone to be on guard…"
