Chapter 90 - Brutality: Part 1:

Author's Note: I am not an editor or a professional writer. I will write this and edit it to the best of my ability. I also do not own Uma Musume, which is owned by Cygames. Watch the animes and read the mangas, for they are pretty good. Finally, please enjoy.

Van Gophe POV:

Five years and they didn't care. Now, suddenly they do. The league took everything away from me. My youth, my talent, my health, and finally my captain. The only one who supported me through everything.

They didn't care even as I became the top of the league. They didn't care even as I won multiple MVPs, crowns, and championships. They didn't care even as I brought in viewers and money into the league. When I was broken down by being injured by a spy from one of the league's many enemies. They just treated me and helped as they did with everyone else.

I came to expect that they treated everyone fairly and equally. Which was very righteous in its own way. Then Wellington happened, and the Broncos showed up. Their dominating the tournament was one thing, but the league fighting for them is another. That's why I watched them, cause outside of rehabilitation and helping the team, I can't do much while wheelchair bound.

I watched their performances, and they are insane. The ones that got my attention, though, were the challenge-loving Crimson, the eye-catching Viridian, and the cool as hell Captain Primrose. All three had the star power and ability to take the top of the league. Plus, the fans love the three of them.

The rest of their team weren't slouches either from what I've seen so far. Ivory has definitely changed the marathon scene for the better. While Cobalt just made the Sprinter's races greater. Ruby and Ash create master classes in their own races. In contrast, Amber and Chestnut are special in their own ways.

Azure and Ebony bring exciting things to attract attention. Then the last race introduced Onyx and Celeste, who are amazing people who make the league interesting. There are still 2 more members we haven't seen perform yet, so I can't make a proper judgement just yet. I am currently watching the races in my apartment. With the team in the tournament and the base being closed, I can't just watch the race here.

I already finished my rehabilitation today and have been working hard to get back, while staying in shape. I wanted to get back and challenge these rookies to see what they got. The league sees them as something special, and I can see why. Now I watch the next race, and it was Crimson's turn. Last tournament, she wanted a challenge, and now she's got it.

She's racing against Empty Box in this race. The reigning King is Dirt. Crimson looked excited to race anyway. Empty Box greeted Crimson when Crimson got on the field. Empty Box said," You're the top dog of the Broncos, huh? Well, that doesn't matter cause I'm the King of Dirt and I'll teach you respect."

Crimson then stared at her with excitement and glowing eyes, replying," Do you mean it? Can you actually give me a challenge I crave?" Empty Box got creeped out by Crimson's excitement and backed off. I laughed at that; Crimson really is a competition junkie. I now watched as the competition began, seeing Crimson more excited than ever.

Soon the race began, and boom, Crimson burst out of the gate so fast she almost crashed into the gates themselves. She was so fast she didn't even bother to use skills or techniques. Just trained form and raw ability. She was adapting to the grounds easily and effortlessly. She truly is the strongest of the Bloody Broncos.

She ran in such pure dominance and passion. You can see the hope in her opponent's eyes as it leaves their body. I even watched the King of Dirt be crushed to pieces in her own domain. Crimson loves competition, but she's too strong for regular competition. I say she's around my level currently and needs opponents at my level.

Too bad for her, most of the opponents at her level are either on her team or were injured by spies last year. They won't be back until after New Year's. Still, thanks to the incident earlier, I believe this war will allow spies and mercenaries hidden amongst the league to be hunted down. Which is a very welcome thing. The Broncos showing up when most of the stars in the league were either down or on bad teams is a miracle.

It feels like whatever happens, this year the teams will have to change next year. Either all-out war will begin between both leagues, and those teams will be held responsible, or one side will win, and this mercenary bullshit will end. I then saw others wanting to take out Crimson. I saw the hidden weapons, the malicious faces, but they can't seem to catch her. She ran and ran excitedly with a gigantic distance between her and Empty Box.

Then, a gigantic space between Empty Box and the rest. This was absolute domination that made everyone speechless. She easily finished without anyone becoming close to her. The camera drone panned in, and she looked pissed off. She was obviously upset, and as the clueless interviewer brought her to the side, she was getting angrier and angrier, almost ready to explode.

Once all the other racers arrived, the interview began. I had a bad feeling about this as I recalled her last interview. The interviewer spoke, saying," Crimson, congratulations on your victory. Can you tell us how you feel about it?" Oh my three goddesses, no, Crimson, control yourself, please.

Soon she exploded and screamed," Goddesses, dammit!! What the fuck was that, you fucking weaklings!! I was promised a challenge not once, but twice, but guess what you all ended up as? Disappointments!! Guess what, my girlfriend Azure worked hard to convince the coaches to book me for this race, and cheered me up after Wellington."

Wow, her girlfriend is Azure? She soon continued by saying," Now it feels like her hard work is wasted, because all of you are such failures. Heck, the league owner Red Bloomberg came to me today saying exciting things like, Don't get cocky, Minors are easy, Majors are hard.' You should all be ashamed of making the president of the league look like a dumbass. Especially you, Empty Box."

Empty Box soon got in Crimson's face," What the fuck do you mean, you bitch? I'm the best dirt racer you've ever seen!!" Crimson shook her head and told her," With your performance today, you're not even in the top 10 of the best dirt racers I know. Let me be clear about how disappointed I am at you. First, you give me high expectations of you by saying how you're the King of Dirt, then you allow me, a non-dirt exclusive player, to beat you in your own domain. Now take that crown off your head, cause you just got destroyed on your own grounds."

Box looked like she was about to cry, with the others already there. The interviewer, insulted for the other racers, asked," Why are you so angry you're undefeated, aren't you?" Crimson, still pissed off, replied," Undefeated means nothing if all my opponents are trash, if victory was the only thing that mattered to me, I would just be undefeated in Open tournaments. No one remembers the competition where one guy just dominates the entire field. They remember the matches where each side has a fighting chance, so without a challenge, these victories mean nothing!!"

Crimson soon left, pissed off, saying," Fucking disappointing." Damn girl, you couldn't be nicer. I soon watched her leave, wanting to punt her face in after kicking her in the ovaries. Everyone in the stadium was awkwardly quiet, all of them not wanting to say anything that could make the situation worse.

The camera zoomed in on the Broncos team, and they were all exasperated at what had just happened. Their coaches looked at her awkwardly or uncaringly. The staff looked away in guilt or just did not want to be on TV. The rest of the team was varied. Azure was walking to make his girlfriend feel better.

Primrose, Ruby, Cobalt, and Onyx looked exasperated. Ash, a player we haven't seen perform yet, and Chestnut were preparing for the next race. Celeste, Viridian, Ebony, and Ivory were focused elsewhere as well. Nothing much was happening as they treated it as an awkward situation or an inconvenience that needed no attention. Man, what is this team?

Steel Valkyrie POV

GW and I finally got back into the limo the company got for us. Today I was winning Opens again with GW being my partner. The whole time, she's been talking to Iguro on her phone. Still, it was sweet that both cared about each other so much. We're finally halfway done today, and at least the contestants are getting better thanks to the excitement the Super Major has brought.

Now I get to see future greats and crush their dreams repeatedly. I sighed and turned on the TV in the limo to watch the Super Major. I watched the recorded races first. It was insane, with Mama running a race where everyone broke the world record. Then KiWi did something more insane with saving all her opponents and discovering the NRL's declaration of war.

I was like, what the fuck!? Next, Ivory conquered her opponents and became the undisputed king of stayers. Then the relay happened, BlaD showing her music to the world pudding off the pop cult online. Then Vic runs an entire race using only rare skills to dominate the competition and is nonchalant about the whole thing. That's my captain for you.

Next, Rain happened, and she literally waited for her opponent's gates to open before she started running. She still won and gained everyone's respect. Now I want to try it myself if I ever race in a relay. After we get a Sweets race, which is sneaky cheeky violence at full throttle. It's fun to watch and brutal to experience.

Then it's finally time for Lily's race. She's been moping all week and even had ImP get her a solo race. Now it seems something got her excited. Even as the King of Dirt, Empty Box, got in her face, she got even more excited. She was moping all week, even this morning, so whatever got her excited must have been something.

She's looking forward to this. She also only gets like this when she's facing me, as currently I'm the only one on the team better than her. I smiled as she ran as the gates opened in the most reckless way possible. She ran with no technique, strategy, skills, or control. At this point, you expect her to start losing, but she was so ahead of everyone that it was shocking.

She was doing it on purpose too; she wanted to have a challenge so badly she abandoned everything to feel something close. I know, cause she's used them in the past. Without them, she's at the same level as ImP and the others tied for 7th place on the team. With them, she's tied with Vic and Rose for the 2nd strongest on the team. Still, I don't blame her.

To defeat someone at their level, a lot of planning is needed to be done or you have to be someone overpowered like me. She soon finished them off and won the race. She looked absolutely pissed off. She held back so much, yet still none of them could catch her. She was about to explode, and on live television as well.

The interview began, and as expected, she exploded in absolute rage. First, she said," Goddesses, dammit!! What the fuck was that, you fucking weaklings!! I was promised a challenge not once, but twice, but guess what you all ended up as? Disappointments!! Guess what, my girlfriend Azure worked hard to convince the coaches to book me for this race, and cheered me up after Wellington."

She expressed her rage first, and now she continued by saying," Now it feels like her hard work is wasted, because all of you are such failures. Heck, the league owner Red Bloomberg came to me today saying exciting things like, Don't get cocky, Minors are easy, Majors are hard.' You should all be ashamed of making the president of the league look like a dumbass. Especially you, Empty Box." She revealed her relationship status to the world with that rant and that she interacted with the league's president.

Now Empty Box is talking to her, and Lily just told her," With your performance today, you're not even in the top 10 of the best dirt racers I know. Let me be clear about how disappointed I am at you. First, you give me high expectations of you by saying how you're the King of Dirt, then you allow me, a non-dirt exclusive player, to beat you in your own domain. Now take that crown off your head, cause you just got destroyed on your own grounds." Empty Box and the other Uma Musume looked like they were crying or about to cry.

The interviewers even got pissed and tried to stop her, but Lily just told her," Undefeated means nothing if all my opponents are trash, if victory was the only thing that mattered to me, I would just be undefeated in Open tournaments. No one remembers the competition where one guy just dominates the entire field. They remember the matches where each side has a fighting chance, so without a challenge, these victories mean nothing!!" That pissed me off, was she saying something about me being stuck here doing open tournaments? GW, who was watching, told me," Steel, she didn't mean to directly hit you with that; please stay calm."

I told GW," Don't worry, her punishment will be a scolding and a knee to the face, but not in that order." I told her, smiling, which she sighed at. Then Lily finished by saying," Fucking disappointing." Lily walked away with everyone putting together how different every member of the team was. Still, they knew all of us thought we were the best in the cockiest way possible. Still, this reality check might make these races more challenging.

Soon we arrived at the next location. There, we saw many hopefuls looking to show their abilities to other teams. They saw the limo and saw us walking out. They immediately knew who I was. They all became speechless in fear.

I was used to it as I kept winning Open tournaments, and the more I became known. They called me the rookie crusher, the Smurf, even the dream ender. Still, I noticed people wising up and actually using me as a benchmark to gauge how good other players are. The other teams know what team I'm from and realize how good I am, which is only a fraction of what I've shown them. Still, they started hiring based on the performances against me.

Some have even asked me why I'm not on the main stage yet. I just told them what I knew: the team needs as many points as possible, and they told me to get 113 wins in Opens before I could go. They understood the first reason, but the second confused them as it did me. Now my opponents looked at me with fear or opportunity. Now I walked into the stadium knowing it was time to get back to work.
