It was 3 a.m, yet I hadn't slept a wink. I lay stiffly on my side, staring at nothing in particular. I couldn't get a lot of things out of my head: my mother's death, the chandelier accident.
What was really happening? First, it was my mom getting sick, then I had an accident, then my mom was suddenly dead, now a chandelier malfunction that almost killed me. What if it was meant for Alexander? I didn't even want to imagine what would have happened.
Anyhow... I think I owe him some gratitude at least.
