Chapter 77 - Last Hour

The charcoal clouds had engulfed the sky on Earth, leaving no rays of sunlight to hit the ground. The earthy, musky scent of mist cool enough to enjoy the weather, but not for some as they were in a state of making a decision.

Before a cemetery fence was standing a man, as he sighed before going in, strolling enough until he stopped by a grave, to some it was nobody but to him it was someone, on gravestone was written Marine Levin.

He stood still for a minute, no flinching, just straight glaring over the gravestone. Silence doesn't shrouded as gentle breeze passes away with leaves. His eyes tired, yearning. Then he slowly turned his head over the dark sky. Just staring over, until..

THUD!

THUD!

Hearing hard but controlled steps, he subconsciously tilted his head to his side, to see himself standing there. It was the version who left here so that he could go there. Seeing him, he asked.

"Did you call them?."

He nodded off without a thought, then again our Ender turned his gaze towards the grave.

He came here through the hall of fate as his inner voice guided him, those knights didn't stop him from exiting Raiheart and entering here as he had sealed his dimensionality in the hall before coming here to not cause problems.

***

On Raiheart, in the agency, the sun has arisen in its full colors as there weren't many clouds today to wrap up the shine. In a place called home, a fuss had breaked out.

"So you're telling me he missed his parents, that's why he left?."

Leon inquired, sitting on the sofa with a newspaper on his one hand, beside him was his wife who herself was puzzled as on the other sofa were sitting all bummers. It was the room where he mostly called them. Or where all elders sat together.

They all stay quiet, slightly nervous and just nodding with his words, as he sighed, pinching his fingers on his forehead.

"I'm not saying he can't go meet his loved ones, just at least made contact before leaving. The hall of fate is so convoluted that a wrong way can lead to dimensions or realms you can't imagine."

He instructed the unknown danger as Misha spoke in her thoughtful tone after a moment.

"We agreed that you're right but he was insisting hard so we didn't have time to tell you last night."

Leon took a breath before exhaling.

".. It's okay, you all can go now."

As they all get up making sure not to collide with each other cause how nervous they all were here, before leaving abruptly. Iris saw them going then looked at her husband.

"It's not even their fault, you should have scolded Ender when he'll come.."

She said in her usual soft tone. Leon's expression softened as he murmured.

"I was just warning them, nothing else.."

But his thoughts were going elsewhere, as if he was understanding or was expecting it.

In the other room, where all bummers were present in one room, thinking what to do now.

"I think we should go to Earth so that we can meet our loved ones and also handle him."

Misha spoke, mused. The answer didn't come from anywhere then after a minute, Zack felt like he remembered something as he blurted.

"Didn't I say I'll go to Earth as well.."

"Why don't you go by yourself?."

Ruis asked with a control expression.

"I can't!. I don't know how to open portals, my inner voice barely talks with me.. So how should I learn.."

Zack explained, then taking a deep breath, Lisa was quite as if she was thinking something then suddenly she got recalled.

"I think you all should go, I'll show you the path and manage the situation."

Everyone looked at her as she made a faint smile to make them believe they could trust her.

"All right. We must go now."

A portal of a human size appeared, Ruis was startled, as if he didn't say moments ago that they had to go. Lisa went through the portal first, as then gradually they all went in one by one.

After oblivion, Zack stumbled upon the hall. He was surprised though he had been here before as well. He looked around to see his friends who had the same reaction as him except Lisa. She is standing in front, confident.

Abruptly, the big knights and the portal to Raiheart wasn't here which confuses them so Sara blurted.

"How do you translocate here and not that knight portal?."

Lisa veered around, explaining with a small chuckle.

"Oh it's because of my trame you know, my trame curtain doesn't just allow me to interconnect but also make new ways anywhere."

"Then why don't you just directly make a portal to Earth."

"It's because of dimensionality, the change in dimensionality immediately will destroy not just the world but the universe itself."

As she waved her arm mid air as another portal appeared before her now.

"Seal your dimensionality before going in."

As everyone closed their eyes before a faint glow emerges from their bodies for barely a noticeable second, Zack couldn't do that as Ruis instructed how to do it, he fumbled two times before finally achieving it.

As then one by one they all went through it, with Lisa staying behind. Before she started strolling amidst the huge pillars.

Moments Later...

It was a busy street here on Earth, it looked like rain was on the way, merged with the crowd. Sara was heading towards her home, excited to see her mom. On arriving here, they all separated to meet their loved ones.

As finally Sara stumbled upon her apartment, she couldn't wait any longer as she took a deep breath before she found a safe spot where people couldn't see her, then she directly tried to teleport in her apartment.

But because of how bad she sucked at using her powers, cause she barely or only unconsciously used them. She teleported amidst a crowd, shocked. She looked around to see no witnesses, as she sighed and this time she didn't care as she teleported directly to her apartment.

Teleportation is easy for an Astran as you just need to remember the place in your head. She came to know it from others as her inner voice barely talks to her.

It was her room, as it was, the same as if no bird had flown over it. She was a little confused because she remembered that her clone her professor made had exactly her memories and personality, so as for her. She was a girl who was found decorating her room in new ways.

Still, she left it as she opened her room and started exploring the other parts of her house. Weirdly, she neither found her mom nor herself. Until..

She went towards the kitchen, her breath hitching, her gaze gradually watching to see nothing then it went towards the floor. She freezed, her jaw drops. Her mind couldn't comprehend this was really real. On the floor..

Her dead body, lying on the floor alongside her mother's. The dried blood dispersed as their bodies were in a state of almost decaying. As if it was barely a week that they both had died.

Sara fell to her knees, her hand trembling yet it somehow made contact with her mother's face, turning it towards her. Seeing her condition, she couldn't expect this, this thought had never crossed her head, never..

"A– Anne.."

As suddenly her body began to glow a devastating light, in this moment, she couldn't herself.

BOOM!

The whole apartment building exploded, it was so great that other apartments and buildings came to its range. Soon firefighters and ambulances came to the scene, yet the locals were confused because of no gas leaks or anything unusual.

Amidst clearing the fire, the crumbled burning building. Sara was watching it all from the center of the noisy crowd, her mind had gone blank, she was just staring expressionlessly at the fire.

***

It was a village, quite urban as someone strolls towards the house which was quite different from others. It was a Minka, a traditional house in Japan as his master was also from Japan.

As Ruis standing before the house sighs, this was the time where mostly Ruis was in university so it wouldn't be that big a matter if he came to meet his master.

"Sensei!."

He shouted, control over his excited face. No reply came nor any maid came to open the door. As he shouted again.

"Sensei!."

No response this time too, now he got mixed up as his master can come by himself in one call or their maid can open it. So he sighed, before concealing himself to air himself to not being caught. Then he goes through the door.

After entering he undid it and turned to his normal condition, to find the house barren as if life had been taken from it.

He swallowed his throat before exploring the house, rooms and rooms but couldn't find anyone, until in one room.. He found the deceased body of their maid, the blood had dried up and it was the same condition as Sara and her mother.

Shocked.. His tension grew, as he ran and stumbled upon their garden to see a mess. The whole garden where he mostly trained when he was young now was all ruined. With his master's body lying on the ground, a sword alongside. His body had the same condition as others.

Ruis stunned, as he went towards him. Kneeling down to his knees, his jaw completely dropped as he remembered something that his master said to him.

[ Past Memories ]

The sky had cleared up, it was the same garden, yet this time it was all lively and cheerful. With birds chirping and butterflies sucking nectar from flowers. Ruis was sitting with his master aside as their master came with a wooden tray of tea.

"How's your college life going, Ruis?."

The maid asked with a lively smile while pouring down the tea from the kettle.

"Ahh!. All fine, I made some bums along my way."

He replied, giggling as he took a biscuit.

"I didn't teach you that word, is this what you're learning?."

His ear was pinched by his master, as usual it was very hard.

"Aghh!. Come on, I was just joking, can't I even joke?."

As he forcefully takes off his master's hand from his ear.

"Haha. It seems like you're enjoying your time there."

As the maid was about to leave, Ruis insisted.

"Drink with us."

"I'll be right back then."

As the maid left with a smile, then silence shrouded them, between him and his master.

Moments Later...

The tea part was over but still Ruis and his master were in the same position as before, as Ruis had a question going in his head so he asked.

"Are you scared of death, master?."

His master expressed stoic, as he sighed.

"Everyone is fated to die, so when I die, I'll be proud that I live a life. Even though it had no meaning, I'll be proud that I have lived such a long life."

Ruis was surprised with his words but he didn't express much, as he looked at the sky. The clear and bright day, a faint smile appeared over his cheeks.

[ Present scene ]

Ruis looked at the sword, as now some drops of rain started to fall. Then he looked back at his master, before extending his arm to grab his master's sword.

"I will kill them all.."

He muttered, his expression dead seriously soaked with the raindrops as the rain started to be heavy now.

He knows who killed them, he knows it all.

"I.. Will... Kill them all.."

Ruis mumbled, staring at his master. As he glanced over his master's sword.

"For every drop of blood.. They will be killed."

Now he gets up, before disappearing into water droplets.

***

Moments Before...

The rain had not started now, as in front of a hospital. Zack was standing with his hand in his coat's pockets.

He couldn't understand whom to meet but where the weird feeling goes so he ended up following and now he stumbled here.

"Maybe.. I came to meet her.."

He murmured, unsure while the people around him stared at him cause he was no ordinary person. Of course this is the reaction of someone seeing a royal person.

He sighed, scratching his hair.

"Well.. Here I come mama.."

***

Misha was sitting on a bench, of a bus stop. She knew she could instantly go there but there was a desire somewhere in her that didn't want to do this and be herself, she sighed.

"Well, do you want to meet them?."

As a voice echoed in her like a fallen end.

– I have a bad feeling about this, as if the last hour of judgement day has started.. Can't you feel it?.

Her breath hitched as her lips quivered.

"I can.."

She murmured, her half complete sentence before continuing with a pause.

"But what can I do except watch this hour collapse upon us like a flood."

She turned at the pitch-dark sky, it looked like a great flood in one way or another was about to erupt. She took a deep breath of concern but controlled.

"This is our judgement.. In one way or another.."
