The VLive stream kicked in with a sharp crackle, screen flooding with hearts before the girls' faces even came into focus.
"Okay, okay, it's on—don't scream," Mira muttered, fumbling with the camera. The image steadied, showing her grinning with half-tied hair, tired but electric under the cabin lights.
"AHHHHHHH!" Zoey shrieked anyway, smacking Rumi's arm. "It's working! Finally!"
"Everyone!" Rumi shouted, pulling Mira and Zoey closer, "HAPPY THIRD DEBUT ANNIVERSARY!" they yelled at the camera, synchronised. Rumi threw a fingerheart that caused a flood of hearts to explode in the live chat.
"ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ"
"WE LOVE YOU HUNTR/X!✨"
"THREE YEARS ALREADY??"
"I'm crying rn!"
"HUNTR/X FOREVER!💜"
"I can't believe it's already been three years since our first stage. Time flies, doesn't it?" Zoey's voice turned soft, eyes shimmering as she read the comments pouring in faster than she could process.
"It still feels like yesterday," Mira said, letting out a breath, her voice carrying that hint of disbelief that only came from sleepless years on stage.
Rumi nodded, "We promised we'd stick together, and we will. No matter what." She held up a pinky, staring into the camera, "And we'll keep making you all proud."
Comments:
"Nahh but why won't my eyes stop shedding tears? 😭"
"As a fan who's been with you since the start, I can't help but feel proud!"
"We miss you!"
Zoey smirked, "You know what happens when we land."
Rumi's eyes sparkled, "Not yet, we have four more hours of peace."
Zoey tilted her head, eyes playful. "Peace? With you two screaming about snacks for three hours?"
"HEY." Mira pointed. "I told you not to eat my honey butter chips."
Rumi gasped. "You ate them?! Those were for the plane landing video!"
Zoey lifted her hands. "OOPS! Content idea: 'Zoey gets chased by two tiny murderers at 40,000 feet.'"
The comments scrolled faster:
"ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ"
"ZOZO RUN"
"RUMI SAVAGE 😂"
Rumi leaned closer, eyes bright. "Speaking of, we're finally coming back home! We missed you, Korea! We missed all of you!"
Mira grinned, "We traveled the world these past few months, and it was so exciting meeting fans from so many countries."
Zoey lifted her chin, "And the food! The people! The places! It was amazing." Her laugh was soft, real, the kind that made the fans flood the comments with "ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ".
Rumi's eyes twinkled as she said, "And the best part?"
They all paused, letting the silence crackle, the comments exploding with guesses.
"We're going to do a concert as soon as we land in Korea!" Rumi squealed.
The live comments turned frantic, hearts and shocked emojis filling the screen like confetti.
Mira and Zoey exchanged a grin before Mira said, "As we promised, tonight—on our debut anniversary—we're holding a free concert."
"Tonight." Zoey leaned forward, her eyes narrowing with playful intensity. " At Gocheok Sky Dome. See you there!"
Fans spammed the comment section.
"Is this for real??"
"A free concert? NO WAY!!"
"Someone tell me I'm not dreaming!"
"Guys! It's true! The company's official notice about the concert just dropped!!"
"Okay now I'm sobbing even more! 😭"
Rumi stared at the cabin crew before she lifted her hand, "Dul! Set!"
All three shouted together, voices echoing in the private jet's cabin:
"Gamsahamnida! This was HUNTR/X!"
The comment section exploded again:
"Wait what? The live's over? Already?!"
"See you tonight! 😭💕"
"We love you!!"
"I'll be waiting!"
They waved, smiles wide, before the live cut off, the screen fading to black with a flood of "Sarangheyo!" (I love you ) lingering.
For a moment, silence settled in the cabin.
The smiles on their faces didn't drop immediately, but the shift was sudden, sharp, like the click of a lock sliding into place.
Rumi's gaze returned to the six cabin crew members moving around the private jet, eyes narrowing.
"Are we going to talk about it," Rumi said, crossing her arms, "or do you want me to spell it out?"
The nearest flight attendant froze mid-step, holding a tray of fresh coffee.
"You guys are demons, right?" Rumi tilted her head, her voice ice-cold now.
The crew tried to maintain their polite smiles, but their hands twitched.
Mira lifted a brow, sighing, "My coffee was being poured into the ramen a few minutes ago." Her voice was calm, but her eyes were steel.
Zoey pointed at two crew members, "And those two? Just tried to place a rune under the seat cushion."
The lead attendant's fake smile twitched. "We were hoping to keep this pleasant."
Zoey popped her neck. "Sorry, we're terrible passengers."
The flight attendants' eyes turned black, veins spidering across pale skin, claws sliding out as their suits tore at the seams.
"Demons, huh?" Mira muttered, rolling up her sleeves. "On our anniversary? Rude."
Rumi cracked her knuckles, "We're landing in a few hours. Let's make this quick."
The first demon lunged, claws slashing toward Zoey's face.
Zoey grinned, ducking as lightning danced up her arm. "You guys never learn."
She punched upward, a bolt of thunder cracking through the cabin as the demon flew backward, crashing into the overhead compartments.
Rumi caught another by the wrist, twisting it until bones cracked, her eyes cold as she kicked its legs out, sending it sprawling.
Mira ducked under a claw swipe, slamming her elbow into a demon's ribs before sweeping its legs, flipping it into a seat with a crash.
The cabin lights strobed red, alarms screaming.
A demon staggered, growling, "You can't stop it. It's already—"
Mira zapped it in the forehead. "Shh. No monologues."
Rumi kicked the cockpit door open, only to find it empty, the pilot and co-pilot gone, seats still warm, the controls flickering in chaos.
"Looks like we're gonna land in a few minutes..."
She turned, glaring at the remaining demons, "You think this will stop us?"
The jet shuddered violently as a window cracked, air howling inside. Outside, another jet pulled alongside, a shadow sliding across the clouds. Claws reaching in to grab one of the demons, pulling it out.
The demon struggled, but in the chaos, the creature was yanked into the rescue jet, which twisted away, engines roaring, taking every last parachute with it.
The alarms screamed as the ground rushed up to meet them, the altimeter spinning, the entire plane shaking violently.
The three of them shared a look, silent, only a small nod passing between them.
Rumi's lightning built at her fingertips, eyes glowing, "Zoey. NOW!"
Zoey closed her eyes, lifted her hand, and a bright, blinding spark flickered in her palm.
Rumi took their hands. "Three."
Mira's eyes burned, wind swirling around them. "Two."
Zoey grinned, "One."
The emergency exit burst open, wind ripping through the cabin as the three girls leapt into the storm, lightning flashing around them, the burning jet tearing apart in the sky above.
Together, they jumped.
Mira and Rumi grabbed Zoey, holding on as they jumped into the open sky, the roar of the burning jet behind them, falling together into the cold, thin air, the wreckage bursting into a blossom of fire in the clouds.
And then—
They were gone.
And nothing—not demons, not death, not hell itself—was going to stop HUNTR/X from coming home.
'The World Underneath'-
A trembling demon survivor was lifted by the throat by VORATH, Gwi-Ma's high-ranking enforcer, a gladiator-like demon radiating brute power.
The demon begged for mercy as Vorath snapped his fingers. An invisible screen glowed, revealing HUNTR/X performing live at Gocheok Sky Dome. The demon's eyes widened in horror.
Demon(panicked): "I-I saw the plane crashing mid-air myself! They burned! I took all the parachutes, there's no chance to survive it!"
Vorath slowly lowered the demon, seemingly forgiving him as the demon sobbed in relief. All other demons were watching, trembling with fear. Everyone of them feared Vorath...but not all did.
Suddenly, GWI-MA'S chilling voice echoed inside Vorath's mind:
GWI-MA (dark, cold): "You know what to do."
Without hesitation, Vorath unsheathed his long sword and beheaded the demon, blood splattering across the black stone floor. The other demons gasped, recoiling.
Vorath (roaring, furious): "Two years! Two years you worthless wretches have tried to kill those idol hunters—and they haven't sustained a single injury!"
Gwi-Ma's voice dripped like poison in every demon's mind:
GWI-MA: "I gave you a 'new life'. Yet none of you are grateful."
Vorath pounded his chest:
Vorath: "Let me handle HUNTR/X. I will end them myself!"
GWI-MA: "No. Did you forget that you belong to the 'Elite Army'? You cannot enter the human realm."
Vorath went silent.
Suddenly, the eerie strum of a musical instrument cut through the tension. A tall, dark figure sang softly, creepily, stepping from the shadows.
A demon kid (yelling): "That's Jinu!"
(Author: Yess! That's our freakishly handsome ml JINU! 🫠My Jinu hearteu's been tirelessly waiting for his entrance in the story and finally here he is!🤧)
As his mom pulled him closer, away from Vorath's gaze.
Vorath glared at Jinu, who ignored him, patting the demon child's hair as he walked toward the center.
Jinu (cold): "I have a super fantastic idea to finish your precious idol hunters… if you'd give me a chance, my King."
Vorath: "But-"
Gwi-Ma's voice, intrigued, echoed like a venom laced viper:
GWI-MA: "Speak."
Jinu (smirking): "The only way to defeat K-pop idol hunters… is to become one of them."
Vorath scoffed, disgusted:
Vorath: "What nonsense are you spouting now?"
Jinu (deep, eerie calm): "Going as demons or fake humans won't work. But idols… idols can go anywhere, be loved by all, touch countless souls."
Vorath rolled his eyes:
Vorath: "A demon boy band? You've gotta be kidding me. Speak sense, Jinu."
Jinu snapped his fingers. Four young, human-like demons appeared beside him.
One of them stepped forward.
Abby (smirking): "We'll debut as a boy band. Win their hearts, steal their souls, and destroy the hunters from the inside. Simple as that."
(Author: That's my abs baby ya'll!🤧💗)
Vorath laughed darkly:
Vorath: "This is absurd!"
But Gwi-Ma's voice, amused and approving, cut through:
GWI-MA: "I approve. Jinu, I entrust this mission to you."
Vorath's jaw clenched, but the decision was final. Abby smirked at him as the five demons turned and walked away, ready to begin their dark mission.
(Author: P.S I'm sorry, I really wanted to give lines to all the members but it wasn't adding up to the script but I promise I'm gonna give'em great lines which the movie did not.)
'Dawn of Gwi-Ma's Mayhem'-
Gwi-Ma, the demon who emerged from nothing, overthrowing every ruler to crown himself as the King of Demons.
Enslaving all demons with his voice crawling through their minds, forcing loyalty, crushing defiance with death.
Manipulating the vulnerable, exploiting their tragedies, promising salvation—only to chain them eternally.
He created a rank system: the more missions completed, the higher the demon's status. A false reward in exchange for eternal servitude.
And those with the most strength and highest ranking made it into the 'Elite Army'. A special unit serving Gwi-Ma, were given immense powers to protect and serve Gwi-Ma and much more benefits but on one condition.
They were forbidden from entering the mortal world.
Now, even those who despise him are trapped, with no choice but to obey.
The Next Evening-
[HUNTR/X DORM – EVENING]
Bobby entered with a warm smile, which the girls immediately found suspicious.
Bobby (relieved): "Take a day to rest this weekend. You deserve it. I've managed to convince the agency on giving you the weekend off."
The girls lit up with excitement.
Rumi (eyes wide): "And they agreed?"
Bobby (flexing): "Of course! Who am I? Bobby, the most experienced manager in this industry, this is a peice of cake! Besides you girls really need to enjoy your life beyond the camera."
Rumi, Mira & Zoey (teary eyed 🥺): "Bobby!.."
Bobby : "It's okay it's okay girls, this is nothing. You don't have to-"
Zoey (excited): "Let's go to karaoke!"
Mira (tired): "We've been singing nonstop for days."
Mira: "Let's just get snacks and binge dramas. Rumi's fav actor Song Kang's new drama-'My Demon' is on air!"
(Author: Okay now who doesn't love Jeong Gu Won?! 🫣IYKYK!)
Rumi: "Mwo? (What) How come I didn't know that!!"
Zoey: "We do binge-watching all the time when we're done with our practice!"
Bobby (to himself): "And here I was thinking they were going to thank me." 😮💨
They paused for a minute until-
Rumi: "How about roaming the streets of Seoul!"
Zoey & Mira: "Yessss!"
Bobby: "NO!" He shook his head. That gave him an instant heart attack.
The girls pouted, all of the joy in their faces fading away.
Bobby: "You are IDOLS! And the most popular ones. You can't wander the streets freely."
The girls nodded, upset.
Eventually, they settled on Mira's binge plan, Bobby left with a relieved smile, wishing them a fun weekend.
As soon as the door shut, the girls exchanged mischievous smiles.
[Next Morning]
Seoul's air buzzed with layered scents of street food, warm asphalt, and summer rain.
Rumi pulled the hood of her black Stussy oversized hoodie further down, tucking every strand of her long, lavender-purple hair within it, shadowing her eyes.
Mira adjusted her New York Yankees cap, a plain pair of clear spectacles perched on her nose, her gaze scanning every reflection in shop windows.
Zoey bounced lightly on her feet, a Nike bucket hat pulled low, her hair braided tightly down her back as she hummed softly under her breath.
Yup, they girls had broken the rules and slithered their way out that morning!
Meanwhile, back at HUNTR/X Dorm
Bobby knocked again, adjusting the cap on his head, a paper bag of warm pastries in his other hand.
No answer.
"It's past ten. They should've been up by now," he mumbled, knocking harder, "Mira? Zoey? Rumi? I know it's your day off but is isn't it too late to be sleeping until now?"
No shuffling, no sleepy grumbles, nothing.
He dialed Mira. No answer.
He dialed Zoey. No answer.
Rumi's phone directed straight to voicemail.
A tight knot formed in Bobby's gut. He cursed softly under his breath, rushing down to the security desk in the lobby.
"Hyung,(brother) did the girls leave?" Bobby asked, trying to keep calm.
The guard, mid-sip of coffee, nodded ,"Ah, Bobby, yes, you said they had the day off this weekend and so... they went out."
Bobby froze, "I said they could go out?"
The guard nodded again, "You told me yesterday to let them enjoy their day off. I thought you knew."
Bobby felt the blood drain from his face.
"I didn't even visit yesterday" he whispered.
'A 'not so normal' day at Cheongdam-dong'-
Rumi, Mira & Zoey walked past bright cafés and clothing shops until the towering HUNTR/X Gangnamdol came into view—plastered with their own faces, smiling, waving, forever immortalized in shining paint.
Zoey giggled, taking out her phone, snapping a photo quickly before hiding it back.
"I didn't think I'd get to see this in real! It's soo cuuutee!"
Rumi grinned, "We're technically dating ourselves, huh."
Mira rolled her eyes but her lips curved, "Focus, you clowns. We can easily draw attention if you two are gonna be loud."
They blended seamlessly into the streams of locals and tourists, occasionally glancing at screens in shop windows replaying clips of their recent Gocheok Sky Dome performance. No one recognized them, and it felt…free.
They bought fish-shaped bungeoppang, sharing it quietly as they leaned against a railing in a narrow alley, watching people, giggling whenever someone took selfies with the Gangnamdol.
Suddenly, a beat pulsed through the air.
A thick, heavy bass, unlike any k-pop track, threaded through the street. The sound was catchy & magnetic, pulling people as if they were being reeled in by invisible strings.
Crowds gathered, cellphones flying up, recording, the reflected glow painted their faces with excitement.
Zoey tilted her head, "What's that? Another dance cover group?"
Mira frowned, crossing her arms, "It's…not a song I know."
Rumi's brows furrowed as she finished chewing, "Probably some 'k-pop in public' dance crew. It's all common in famous streets like these."
The music's rhythm was super catchy, with energetic melodies that weaved around the beat, too crisp to be street speakers yet too loud to be a phone. As they stepped closer, the sound thickened, pressing against their chests.
"I'm getting a weird feeling…" Mira whispered, her idol instincts prickling.
Zoey shrugged it off, "C'mon, it's probably a new street dance crew trying to go viral."
They pushed gently through the crowd, drawn toward the epicenter of the strange yet addictive music.
