Chapter 22 - 2.6- wonderland third scene

Part 1 – Volume 0 – Chapter 0: The Museum of Black Glass

Yes, 20 Ves 911 Aven — 22:00

Night covered the bourgeois city like a thick veil.

The modern buildings, with their elegant and orderly lines, seemed frozen in an almost unreal stillness. The streetlight drones slowly floated through the air, illuminating only the roads they flew over, leaving the rest of the city to sink into deep, silent darkness.

In the center of a large roundabout stood a structure that stood out from all the others.

A pyramid.

Or rather, what looked like it.

Blocks of unbreakable black glass, stacked in rectangular tiers, formed a massive pyramidal silhouette. This building was not a temple, but one of the largest museums in the country — a sanctuary of historical objects, forbidden works and relics whose value was beyond belief.

And that night, he was a target.

---

In a corridor plunged into darkness, two figures moved noiselessly.

Their black outfit blended perfectly into the shadows. Only their faces were visible — pristine white rabbit masks.

On the forehead of one was written the 36.

On that of the other, the 63.

The girl faced a circular safe embedded in the wall. A light interface sat in its center, surrounded by three locks arranged in a triangle. She played with precision and concentration.

The boy stood guard, his back to the trunk, scanning the corridor.

After a few seconds, the girl took out a small gray mirror box and connected it to the interface.

A discreet click.

"Interface compromised," she whispered into the microphone on her mask.

She performed a fluid backflip, trading places with her brother. He immediately looked at the mechanical locks.

"Hurry up a little today, brother," she whispered. If we want to get everything back on time.

"I'm doing the best I can, sister," he replied calmly, without taking his eyes off the figures.

A bolt gave way.

Then a second.

Finally, the third.

With a muffled breath, the trunk opened.

---

The interior revealed a perfectly smooth room, lined with black glass display cases.

Guided by a golden compass with a luminous needle, they advanced without hesitation to three lined up display cases.

— Incredible... whispered the girl.

Casa Blanca. The Scarlet Jewel. And… the Queen of Spades Tiara.

"Oz and First will be satisfied," replied the boy. The tiara will return to Wonderland.

"And the jewel…" she added. I can't wait to see its potential.

- Normal. We are vampires.

He raised his wrist, revealing a red bracelet adorned with a rabbit's foot.

He snapped his fingers.

Three small stones appeared.

They each took one and whispered together:

— A wheelbarrow first. That will be enough.

The stones were thrown.

When they hit the ground, they turned into harmless little cakes. A silent wave ran through the room.

The display cases... then the objects they contained, shrank until they became three identical black cubes.

The boy took out a small transparent box and put the cubes in it before throwing it to his sister.

Mission almost complete.

---

They descended the lower floors cautiously.

The guards were numerous, but stealth and prior hacking did their work. At each pass, they avoided patrols, disappearing into blind spots.

Arriving at a floor devoted to pictorial works, the girl stopped in her tracks.

—Wait. Help me.

She was facing a painting.

— The Lady of the Lake, by Merlan Ers… A secret work from the Arthure Cycle.

She consulted her mirror box.

— Recent acquisition. They don't know its true value. This is a rare opportunity.

"We don't have time…" the boy sighed.

— We'll get it sooner or later. So much now.

He gave in.

With a quick slash, he drew his blood, which he transformed into a perfect replica of the painting – same shape, same weight.

They exchanged works with extreme precision.

But suddenly...

A shrill alarm tore the silence.

The lights suddenly came on.

- Shit.

---

They immediately spread blood wings and rushed forward.

Guards appeared everywhere, but nothing slowed their escape. They crossed the museum like a furious shadow.

The main hall appeared.

The exit was there.

But a wall of forces awaited them.

"Active exfiltration point," Vortex announced through their masks.

They rushed.

An explosion erupted behind them, sending out a violent wave.

When the dust settled, an armored woman stood before them, a golden shield in motion.

They narrowly dodged.

A second obstacle. Then a third.

They used the shield as a springboard, leaping with mad precision.

The rabbit portal appeared.

The boy entered first, holding out a thread of blood towards his sister.

She was going to join him when…

A golden lasso emerges.

She was caught.

The portal closed.

In the space between worlds, a silent cry echoed.

- NO !
