Chapter 21: Sky Jade Pavilion Guild Master Mu Qingwan
Zhang Ren's father paced restlessly around his living room. It had been several days since Zhang Ren had disappeared, and there was no sign of him. The house felt empty without his son, and a sense of unease gnawed at him.
He had already used all his personal connections to try and find Zhang Ren. Hunters he knew, old friends from the guild, and even some favors called in from the local hunter's association - but all leads had come to a dead - end. Frustrated and worried, he decided to visit Zhang Wei in the hospital.
Zhang Wei, still recovering from his previous altercation, looked up as his father entered the room. "Dad," he said weakly.
Zhang Ren's father sat down beside the bed. "Son, I need to know if you have any idea where your brother could be. I've searched everywhere, but there's no trace."
Zhang Wei hesitated for a moment, then said, "Dad, I think Zhang Ren went to take revenge on that Luo Shen kid. He was really angry about what happened to me."
Zhang Ren's father scoffed. "Luo Shen? I got his information in my search for Zhang Ren. His just a E - rank Hunter? There's no way he could have done anything to your brother. Zhang Ren is a much more experienced hunter." Not to mention he is a Peak Level B Rank Hunter.
Zhang Wei nodded reluctantly. "I know, Dad. I didn't think he could either. But that's where Zhang Ren said he was going."
Despite his doubts, Zhang Ren's father realized he had no other leads. He continued to use his connections, but days passed, and still, nothing turned up.
Zhang Ren's mother, seeing her husband's distress, suggested, "Honey, we should ask my sister, Mu Qingwan. She is a SS Rank Hunter not to mention also the Guild Master of Jade Sky pavilion She has more power, influence, and connections in the hunter world. Maybe she can help us find Zhang Ren."
Zhang Ren's father grimaced. He and Mu Qingwan had never seen eye - to - eye, especially when it came to their marriage. However, with no other options, he knew he had to swallow his pride.
He made his way to the Jade Sky Pavilion. After being announced, he was escorted to Mu Qingwan's office.
Mu Qingwan looked up as he entered. Why are you here! To meet me? I don't think we have anything to talk about, I didn't accept the fact that my elder sister fell in love and married someone like you.
Zhang Ren's father took a deep breath. "Mu Qingwan, I know you are angry about the past but , Zhang Ren is missing. I've tried everything, but I can't find him. I need your help."
Mu Qingwan studied him for a moment. "Why should I help you? Our relationship has been strained, to say the least."
Zhang Ren's father sighed. "I know, but Zhang Ren is your nephew. He's in trouble, and we need to find him."
Mu Qingwan considered his words. After a long moment, she said, "Fine. I'll use my connections. But don't expect this to change anything between us."
And so, the search for Zhang Ren took a new turn, with Mu Qingwan now using her vast network to try and uncover the mystery of his disappearance.
