Chapter 107 - (S2) Chapter 52 - Inseparable Bond....

The Crown of Mortality

The silence inside the Crown Prince's private chambers was heavy, thick with the scent of spilled celestial blood and burnt incense.

Ryan stood alone by the tall, arched window, the fading twilight of the Heaven Realm casting long, blood-red shadows across his rumpled wedding robes. The brilliant sapphire garments he had worn during the ceremony were gone; now, he wore only the deep, crimson under-robes of his wedding attire. His High Celestial Core—the very anchor of his godhood—was gone, smashed into glittering dust by King Justin's vengeful hands. His dark golden eyes, once blazing with an untouchable, divine fire, were now bloodshot and shadowed with a profound, terrifying exhaustion.

Outside the heavy cedar doors, Emily stood frozen. Her hand hovered inches from the brass handle, her heart hammering against her ribs like a trapped bird. The shock of the evening's violent events had left her completely breathless. She was torn between a deep, protective instinct for the husband who had just bled for her, and the haunting, terrifying accusations Justin had shouted to the heavens.

Taking a long, shuddering breath, she pushed the door open.

She walked quietly across the marble floor, her footsteps silent on the thick silk carpets. Ryan did not turn, his rigid posture radiating a cold, dangerous vulnerability. Slowly, Emily stepped behind his towering frame. She reached out and wrapped her arms tightly around his broad waist, pressing her cheek firmly against the warm silk of his back.

A soft, fragile smile touched Ryan's pale lips at the sudden warmth of her touch. He slowly turned around within her embrace, his large, trembling hands rising to gently cup her shoulders as he looked down into her tear-stained, exquisite face.

"Emily..." he whispered, his voice raspy and stripped of its usual majestic resonance.

Emily looked up into his bloodshot eyes, her heart aching with a raw, bleeding devotion. "I know your situation, Ryan," she spoke out, her voice cracking with a deep, emotional solemnity. "I can understand the unimaginable pain you must be feeling right now. To have your very essence torn from your chest... but..."

Ryan's golden eyes narrowed slightly, a sudden, desperate panic flaring behind them. He gripped her shoulders a fraction tighter. "Don't you believe me, Emily? Do you truly believe the horrific lies that beast screamed at the altar?"

Emily swallowed the hard lump of doubt in her throat. Looking at his pale, wounded face, she chose to bury her lingering suspicions deep in the shadows of her mind. "I believe you," she whispered softly, offering him the ultimate solace of a romance heroine. "I know there is a terrible, violent misunderstanding between you and Justin. But no matter what lies ahead... I will always be with you, Ryan. I am not going anywhere."

A genuine, beautifully soft smile broke through Ryan's exhaustion.

Emily reached up, her delicate fingers gently tracing the collar of his red robe. "But... it is going to be so incredibly hard for you to live like a mortal now. To feel the cold, the hunger, the fragility of a human life... I know how terrifying that world can be."

Before she could finish, Ryan's long, warm finger gently rose, pressing softly against her trembling lips to silence her words.

"No," Ryan murmured, his golden eyes melting with a sudden, breathtakingly sweet intensity that vibrated straight through her soul. "In truth, Emily... I have never been happier. For the first time in my existence, I am just like you. A mere mortal. We are no longer separated by the vast, cruel divide of divinity and mortality. Now... we will grow old together. We will watch the seasons change, feel the passage of time, and leave this world hand-in-hand. I welcome this fragility if it means I can truly belong to you."

Emily's eyes overflowed with fresh, hot tears of pure, unadulterated happiness. A beautiful, radiant smile broke across her face, and she buried her head back into his chest, hugging him tighter than she ever had before.

But as Ryan wrapped his powerful arms around her, resting his chin against her dark hair, the tender, loving smile completely vanished from his face.

His eyes turned into two freezing, merciless pools of pure, unadulterated outrage. His jaw clenched so hard the muscles in his cheek twitched violently. I am not sad that I have been turned into a mortal, he thought, his inner voice snarling with a dark, monstrous fury that bordered on madness. But my soul is burning in a blazing fire of hatred because it was that wretched Justin who dared to tear my core away. I will never forgive this humiliation. I will hunt him to the very ends of the earth, and I will dismantle his entire kingdom. I won't leave him... and I won't leave that Devil Goddess Farina, no matter where she hides her bleeding head.

The Healing of a Mother's Heart

High atop the mist-shrouded peaks of the Celestial Mountain Palace, the tragic silence of the past few days had finally begun to dissolve.

Inside the royal nursery, the afternoon sun filtered warmly through the gossamer curtains, illuminating a beautifully carved ivory crib. Princess Merin sat softly on the edge of the plush rug, her pale face finally carrying a touch of life. Clad in comfortable, loose jade silks, she was gently rocking the cradle, a soft, melodic hum escaping her lips.

Cradled in her lap was the tiny, beautiful newborn baby girl Henry had rescued from the forest.

The infant's tiny, unblemished hand was clasped tightly around Merin's finger. As Merin gently tickled her soft cheek, the baby let out a tiny, gurgling coo, her pure, innocent eyes locking onto Merin with a profound, instinctive trust. Merin's heart suffered a violent, beautifully sweet squeeze of pure maternal devotion. She had accepted this child entirely as her own—not as a replacement for the daughter she had lost, but as a sacred gift she was destined to protect.

The heavy cedar doors slid open, and King Henry stepped quietly into the room. He had stripped away his heavy crown and royal sashes, standing in simple, comfortable robes. The moment his golden eyes fell upon the sight of his wife smiling down at the infant, a wave of immense, breathless relief washed over his handsome features.

He walked over slowly, a warm, tender smile gracing his lips as he knelt beside her on the rug. "I knew it," he murmured in his deep, sweet baritone, his eyes melting as he looked at them. "I knew that no one—not even my fierce Queen—could stay away from such a beautiful, cute little baby for long."

Merin raised her dark eyes to meet his, her expression filled with a quiet, profound solemnity that carried the true soul of a mother. "This baby's mother left her entirely alone in the freezing depths of the forest, Henry," she spoke softly, her voice dropping into an earnest, emotional whisper. "But I won't. No matter what storms gather over this palace, I will never abandon her. As a mother who has felt the agonizing pain of losing a child, I understand the absolute importance of a young life. She is ours now."

Henry's breath caught in his throat, a tear of gratitude glistening in his golden eyes. He slid his hand forward, his large, warm fingers gently wrapping around Merin's hand, joining their touch over the baby's small chest.

He leaned in close, his voice dropping into a tender, whispering warmth as he looked down at the cooing infant. "Then... let us welcome her home. Our beautiful Fiona."

The baby girl smiled warmly up at them, her tiny fingers tightening around their joined hands, sealing the broken, beautiful puzzle of their family beneath the golden light of the mountain.

The Ghost of the Past

The silver rays of the midnight moon spilled over the silent, stone-carved terraces of the eastern annex in the Celestial Mountain Palace. Far from the royal nursery where the fragile laughter of a newborn now brought warmth, this secluded estate remained frozen in a perpetual winter of grief.

Prince Herrick sat alone on the edge of the stone balustrade, a heavy silver goblet of strong celestial wine gripped tightly in his pale hand. He was completely unkempt, his dark robes loose around his broad shoulders, his eyes hollow as he stared blankly into the endless mountain abyss.

With every burning swallow of the wine, his mind drifted back to the one soul he could never reclaim—his deceased wife, Merida.

"Where did the warmth go, Merida...?" Herrick whispered into the howling wind, his voice a cracked, desolate rasp that carried the weight of a thousand sleepless nights.

He could still hear the echo of her laugh in these empty halls; he could still feel the phantom touch of her gentle hands on his face. While his twin brother Henry was learning to heal, to love, and to embrace a new beginning with a child saved from the forest, Herrick remained hopelessly chained to a grave. He raised his goblet to the uncaring moon, drowning his guilt and his eternal, bleeding love for a ghost who would never return.

The Hunt for the Lost Sister

Meanwhile, beneath the twilight canopy of the Blue Moon Kingdom, the royal courtyard was alive with the frantic clatter of silver armor and the sharp, urgent snorts of celestial steeds.

Prince Leo paced the length of the marble pavilion, his dark blue cape whipping wildly in the wind. The shocking revelation at Ryan's wedding was still tearing his mind to pieces. He could not erase Justin's devastating words from his head: 'He has brutally hunted, pierced, and destroyed my Jade.'

Leo's jaw clenched so hard the bone ached. Jade was his sister—not just by name, but by a bond of blood and shared trials that ran deeper than the roots of the world.

"Listen to me very carefully!" Leo's voice cut through the courtyard like a cracking whip, his dark eyes blazing with a fierce, protective authority. He stared down at the row of kneeling elite scouts. "You will cross the borders immediately. Search every hidden valley, every mountain pass, and every inch of the royal forest between the realms. If she is bleeding, you find her. If she is hiding, you protect her. Bring my sister back to me alive!"

"Yes, Your Highness!" the soldiers roared in unison, instantly scattering into the night.

Leo turned his face toward the dark horizon, his chest heaving with an anxious, breathless panic. Hang on, Jade, he thought, his hand tightly gripping the hilt of his sword. I am coming for you. And if Ryan truly did this to you... not even his mortal shell will protect him from my blade.

The Mother's Empty Arms

Deep within the freezing, pitch-black depths of the abandoned forest, the wind shrieked through the ancient, skeletal branches of a massive, towering willow tree.

Beneath its heavy, drooping roots, hidden from the world in a hollow of damp earth, Jade lay collapsed. The steel-tipped arrow was still buried in her shoulder, the poison from the celestial tip slowly seeping into her mortal veins, burning her blood. She was entirely helpless, her body shivering violently from the bone-chilling cold, her beautiful bridal silks now nothing more than blood-stained rags.

But the physical torture in her body was nothing compared to the bleeding, raw agony screaming in her heart.

She pressed her trembling, dirty hands against her empty, flat stomach, her fingers clutching the fabric of her dress as if she could somehow hold onto the warmth of the baby who was no longer there.

"Fiona..." Jade whispered, a single, broken sob escaping her cracked lips as she pressed her face against the rough bark of the tree. Her hot tears fell into the dark soil, mixing with her own blood. "My sweet, beautiful baby... where are you now? Who has taken you from me?"

She looked up at the vast, uncaring canopy of the forest, feeling the crushing weight of her absolute isolation. She had survived the labor, she had fought off a god, but she could not survive the terrifying silence of not knowing if her daughter was dead or alive. Her spirit was breaking, drifting closer to the abyss of death with every ragged breath she took.

The King's Tears

Far away, within the shattered, ash-laden halls of the Fox Realm, the silence was a physical torment.

King Justin stood alone on the grand, scorched balcony of his marital bedchamber. He had refused to remove his dented, blood-stained war armor, the heavy weight of the steel matching the leaden darkness in his chest. His hands gripped the cold marble railing so tightly that the stone began to crack beneath his fingers.

He raised his head, his golden eyes filled with a profound, weeping despair as he stared out over the blackened ruins of his capital.

"Jade..." Justin choked out, a solitary, burning tear tracking through the soot on his handsome face. "Where are you, my love...? Where has the wind taken you?"

He closed his eyes, his hand pressing hard against the center of his chest. Beneath his armor, the protective devil core she had forged for him pulsed with a faint, agonized rhythm. It was weeping. The tether was fraying, screaming of her fading lifeforce, her intense pain, and her freezing loneliness.

"What happened to you, my queen...?" he whispered, his voice cracking with a tragic, hopeless romance-novel devotion. "I tore his core away... I punished the one who hurt you... but my victory is entirely hollow if I cannot hold you in my arms. Please, Jade... breathe. Live for me. I will tear the three realms apart until I find you."

The Five-Year Echo

Five long, agonizing years had swept across the realms like a bitter winter wind, leaving behind a trail of unanswered questions, hollow victories, and unresolved grief. The grand palaces of heaven and earth had grown colder, but deep within the untamed, misty depths of the Mortal Forest, life had continued its fierce, silent struggle.

Through the ancient, towering trees and the dense, choking green undergrowth, a tiny silhouette sprinted with frantic desperation.

She was a breathtakingly beautiful child, barely five years old. Her long, ink-black hair cascaded in wild waves behind her, whipping against her tiny shoulders as she ran. She wore a simple, dust-stained white hanfu, the hems torn by the thorns of the wild. Her small chest heaved violently, her ragged, shallow breaths carrying the pure terror of a prey being hunted in the dark.

Behind her, the earth trembled.

A colossal jungle monster—a grotesque beast of shadow and jagged bone claws—burst through the ancient ferns, its red eyes locked hungrily onto the tiny girl. It let out a guttural, terrifying roar that shook the leaves from the canopy.

The little girl pushed her tiny legs to their absolute limit, but her foot caught on a thick, exposed tree root. With a sharp, terrified gasp, she tripped, crashing heavily onto the damp, mossy ground. She scrambled to turn over, her wide, innocent eyes staring up in absolute horror as the monstrous beast launched itself into the air, its razor-sharp talons outstretched to claim her life.

SWISH! WHIP!

Out of absolutely nowhere, a blinding, sizzling streak of brilliant orange fire sliced through the misty air.

An ancient, glowing chain of pure, concentrated energy wrapped violently around the beast's throat, tightening with a deafening sizzle. With a powerful, brutal jerk, the chain dragged the massive monster backward mid-air, throwing its heavy body crashing into a nearby stone boulder with a splintering thud.

The little girl gasped, trembling as a towering figure stepped out from the dense fog.

It was King Justin.

He wore the dark, rugged leather armor of a wanderer, his long, silver hair tied back loosely, his golden eyes burning with a fierce, protective fire. He didn't waste a single heartbeat. Drawing his heavy, silver-crested broadsword, he lunged toward the recovering beast.

The monster roared in fury, swinging its massive, clawed arm. The jagged, poisonous nails of the beast tore sharply across Justin's exposed forearm, drawing a sudden line of deep crimson blood. But Justin didn't even flinch. His face remained a mask of absolute, unyielding coldness—the pain of a flesh wound was nothing to a man whose heart had been hollowed out for five years.

With a powerful, fluid spin, he channeled his inner strength into the blade. The sword flashed in a brilliant, deadly arc, cleanly slicing through the neck of the monster. The beast collapsed to the earth, lifeless, dissolving into a pool of dark shadow.

Justin stood in the quiet clearing, his breathing heavy as he slowly lowered his sword, the blood from his arm dripping silently onto the leaves.

Suddenly, a soft, trembling warmth pressed against his back.

The tiny five-year-old girl had scrambled up from the dirt. Without a word, she ran to him, wrapping her small, delicate arms tightly around his armored thigh, burying her face into his long silver cape as she let out a soft, hitching sob of pure relief. She was so unbelievably tiny, a fragile little flower surviving in a brutal world.

Justin froze. The fierce, terrifying King of the Fox Realm felt a sudden, violent tremor shake his very soul.

He slowly, gently turned around, dropping his heavy sword onto the grass. He knelt down on one knee so he was at her eye level, his large, scarred hand hovering hesitantly before gently resting on her small, trembling shoulder.

"Are you alright, little girl?" Justin asked, his voice dropping into a soft, raw whisper—a tender, aching baritone that he hadn't used since the night he lost his queen.

The little girl slowly raised her head, brushing her long dark hair away from her face. She looked up at him with wide, impossibly pure eyes, nodding her head in a quiet, trusting silence.

As Justin's gaze locked onto her cute, exquisite little face, the icy, vengeful fortress around his heart completely melted. A profound, suffocating emotion gripped his throat, his breath catching in his chest as he stared into her features. He did not know why, but looking at this child in the middle of the wild, he felt a strange, spiritual warmth blossom in his chest—a whisper of a bond he thought had died five years ago beneath the weeping willow tree.
