A heavy thud, flames, screams, clash of blades, the hair filled with the smell of iron and dying screams, the rain wasn't helping matters, lightening struck here and there ending the life of someone in the distance. The smell of charred flesh, charcoal, iron and sweat was all that could be smelt.
I'm scared, no! We're all scared. I can't scream, I feel myself dying in my own blood, I don't know if my sister is alive or not, ik confused, I'm tired, it should end, I can't go on.
Someone yelled horribly in the distance, it was calm all of a sudden, no scream no clashing of metal against metal, no whining if horses, no rain, no lightening strikes, all that could be heard was the flame cracking greedily gulfing down wood and flesh no discrimination.
What's going on, my insides are screaming in pain, I have to protect the kids behind me, but what can I do? I'm a kid just like them, when is it all going to end, why were we attacked, what for? We were all contented being sold as slaves as long as we live.
Footsteps could be heard in the distance deep in the heart of the chaos, those deep purple eyes, her long tornado of white hair tied in a ponytail, her pale yet beautiful face, she slender build covered by her dark clothing with little amour covering her chest, arm and ankle only. She emerged from the flames unharmed, her eyes glowing via the flame. She stepped in front of them holding out her hand, she didn't say a word but it was all clear they were being rescued.
"Utterly nasty" cried a voice, she emerged behind the girl with white hair, she had short brown hair that reached her neck, equally brown eyes, her brown tail forcefully trashing around, she had an enormous sword on her back, almost as tall as her, she wore brown shorts that fell just below her knee, and a boot that came up way above her ankle. She was soothing to look at, teg air around her seemed cheerful.
"Pls! Cried a voice desperately, " I didn't mean to! The voice continued to plead.
I didn't know Elf's were so bad, came a calm voice. Taking human Kids as slaves for sacrifices you're scum, there was a loud bang and silence fell, the wind and sheer force of what had killed the man blew out the flames around leaving them all in darkness once more. He emerged from the ashes, his hair almost indistinguishable from the night sky, strands of red poking out here and there, he had reddish orange eyes that seems to glow even in the dead of night, he was as tall as the white haired girl, if not taller, his ragged jacket a testament of worn and wear, his pants long tucked neatly into his boot. His profile handsome but there was something menancing about his gaze, but it was soothing for some reason.
"How many are they? Dan asked coming close.
" I think twelve" Cyra counted mentally. They're smaller than what I'd expect of slave traders.
" Is there anyone of you that's not here? Dan asked the girl in front, she was weak but seemed older than the rest, from her build and ears it's safe to say she is human. Her mid region was soaked in blood.
She took Areia's arm and healed almost instantly. She got up with great difficulty. Dan made her sit back down.
"Some of us we're sold before you arrived" , she answered." It was yesterday. And some killed by a rival trader during the battle before you arrived", she muttered. I'm not certain but we're the last I could gather together before the place was set on fire.
Dan looked up, his eyes staring at the night sky, "if only we arrived a day earlier" he said obviously angry.
It's not our fault Dan, Cyra said patting some of the kids in the head with a soft smile. Don't beat yourself up, things like this are unable to predict, better to just move on. Not every tale must have an happy ending.
" Did you see where they went after buying the kids? Dan asked.
"No! She responded weakly. We were blindfolded and In a cage by the time of the purchase. "But I do know that they were not human or elves, she added. I didn't think they were rather humanlike all together.
" How are you so sure, Dan stared at her, a penetrating gaze that made her shiver.
" Come on Dan!" Crya said stepping in front of him, you're scaring her with that devilish look of yours.
" I'm sorry" Dan apologized, I'm just a bit on edge and pissed off for someone reason. We'll take care of them for a day or two then teleport them to Stacy, I've already informed her via telepathy.
I heard, Cyra confirmed.
Dan walked away slowly without turning back.
What's with him? Cyra asked looking at Dan walking away. Areia stared at Dan for a while before proceeding to check the other kids for injuries.
Cyra opened her inventory and showered the kids with bread and pieces of fish which they ate greedily. She smiled at them. Areia looked at her.
"For someone who told Master not to beat himself up you sure aren't taking your own advice, Areia said coldly.
"I thought I was keeping my composure very well, Cyra responded holding her elbow.
"Just so you know out of the three of us you're the easiest to read, Areia said then walked off. You have a tail after all.
I'm a hero, if I can't help people in need, just what kind of hero am I? What's the point of a hero being in a world like this? The title holds no weight behind it, it's just a fancy name given to a do gooder, I'm not a saint neither am I overly righteous, what gives me the right to call myself a hero, someone like Dan should be more fitted for the role, Cyra thought sadly. "I miss my sister, she said looking at her palms". When I get the fucker that killed her, I'll make sure they're death is slow and agonizing. One of the kids coughed and Cyra reacted instantly taking a water keg from her inventory and handing it over to them.
"You know I can hear your thoughts from way over here, Areia said softly walking towards Dan. He was sitting on a horseless cart, suspended by a rock underneath wheels missing.
"Let me guess, if you hadn't existed the human kingdom would still be standing and things like this would be less common, am I right? Areia asked taking a sit beside him.
"You're not wrong that's the problem, Dan muttered. It's true, if I didn't exist things would be fine.
" Do you believe in destiny or fate Master?
"I wouldn't say I believe in them but I do know somethings are meant to be" Dan replied toying with a stone.
"About not existing and things would be fine, though it's true, but it doesn't change the fact that you exist is another matter. I'm sure things like this would happen even without your existence" , the world is like that, Areia said with a smile. Don't beat yourself up, just focus on what you can do right now, than try to think of things that's already a problem to the world.
" You're one brutal person, Dan chuckled.
That's my entire purpose, Areia responded with a soft smile.
"How's your core? Dan asked looking at her suddenly. Areia flinched but did her best to keep her composure.
"Honestly it's not all bad, I can feel it overflowing, though the basic healing spell and magic Cyra thought me is helping me eat away at it. I didn't know I could feel any better, she said tapping her stomach. Who knew I had magic all this while, she said with a little laugh.
Dan looked at his Palm l. I probably shouldn't tell her, my brain is all messed up, I don't know when this feeling started but I'm getting constantly angry and a strong urge to destroy anything in sight. Is it my dragon self? I don't know but I'll hold on to any thread of humanity I can have, and be the error they think I am.
Are you ok? Areia asked touching his forehead, I haven't seen you sick before but you seem like you could use a long nap.
I'm fine, Dan muttered.
You sure? Areia asked intently.
Yeah, Dan said through clenched teeth, Areia didn't notice, she jumped off the cart, I'm going to go make sleeping arrangements for the kids, she said, once you've gotten enough fresh air, come join us ok! She said with a smile.
Just what do I tell you, how do I tell you? What do I say? It's not something that can be explained, it's not something that can be said with words, I'm losing my mind Areia, I want to scream to yell stay with me a bit longer, but that'll be selfish of me, compared to what you've been through, I can handle this much on my own,Dan thought. Yeah sure, I'll join you in a minute, he replied with a smile.
You sure are holding on quite well, came a voice behind Dan.
"Who are you? Dan asked without turning around.
"Come on don't tell you your mum didn't tell you about me, he said haughtily taking a sit beside Dan.
"What do you know about my mum? Dan asked coldly.
" No need to be so cold, he scoffed making a tea cup out of thin air, it Instantly filled with green tea, he passed one to Dan and took the other. Dan took it and took a sip from it, the man looked at him shocked.
"Honestly I thought you wouldn't drink it, the man said taking a sip from his. I'm your uncle, your mother's brother, he said.
"Dan glanced at him slightly, there was little resemblance, but those sharp teeth and reddish eyes were all he needed, he's a dragon, Dan thought.
"Yeah,I'm a dragon all right, he said with a light chuckle, he accidentally choked on his tea and coughed.
" Killed by tea, he laughed teary eyed.
My name's Bora by the way, he held out his hand to Dan who shook it.
I'm Dan, he said.
Wow aren't you cautious of strangers? Bora asked.
" I don't have the energy right now to be wary of strangers, Dan said calmly. So what do you want from me? He asked.
Nothing honestly I just came to see you, I've been wondering the world for a while now, so I thought why not go see my sister's kid, he laughed to himself.
Now shouldn't you be asking where your mum is? Bora asked smug, I mean isn't she the reason you started adventuring in the first place.
I want to know, Dan said flatly. But I'm not desperate. I'm certain she's alive, I've been sensing her energy for a while now. Bora laughed heartily.
You're one interesting kid you know that? He chuckled. I should be on my way he said getting up. I'll tell you this before I go, if you want to see her you better find a way to summon her from the dragon realm, or you might as well say goodbye. Also you should distance yourself from that girl before you kill her, there's a reason we dragons leave in solitude after all, he said waiving and walking away.
After a while Cyra came out, she had been using magic to conceal herself, but she was sure Dan and the other man knew she was there.
To be honest I wasn't sure he was gonna leave without a fight, Cyra said trembling slightly. I came as soon as I sensed his powerful presence, but seems I shouldn't have worried, she said scratching her arm, her tail stiff.
You heard him right? Dan muttered, you should stay away.
Don't give me that, Cyra huffed. I already knew the violent nature of dragons even before I met you, no need to act all dangerous now.
Where's Areia? Dan asked.
She's asleep with the rest of the kids, Cyra replied. Dan how long do you think you can hold out? Cyra asked looking at the moon, it was unusually bright, the air was cold but none of them were feeling chilly.
I don't know, he muttered. I just don't know.
Your eyes are wierd, Cyra said looking into his face, that's a powerful concealing spell you've got there. It sure can fool Areia but I've been able to see it as clear as day, what are those rings? And just how long have you been like that?
It's been since we were in the gold cats, Dan admitted. I've been feeling the destructive urge since then, I don't know what to do Cyra. What do you think I should do?
To be honest I don't know, Cyra said with a little smile. I don't know what to say, I'm not a good emotional support am I?
"You're perfect, Dan muttered.
"You said something about being really strong if your sword is activated, how strong do you think you'll be compared to that man just now if at full power? Dan asked.
When I use the sword to cut down monsters I'm usually blind, but for some reason I can see my surroundings without my eyes, Cyra shuddered, it's not a pleasant feeling. I'm a walking collateral damage anytime I use it, I can't really rate myself in that state as it seems I seem to get stronger till I'm able to defeat the opponent.
So in other words you could beat me if I ever go out of control, Dan said softly.
That, I don't know, Cyra admitted nervously. Dan laughed." Honestly I don't plan on losing to some dargonic nature, he said calmly, I wouldn't want to worry Areia after all, she has way more on her plate than to add one more.
You care for her way too much as if she we're your mate, Cyra scoffed. Dan laughed, " mate uh, that one way to put it, who knew you can crack a joke." Come on", he said jumping off the cart and patting her in the back, let's get some snooze, we have about twelve kids to look after now, we'll need the rest.
The next morning was a busy one, the kids tho seemed out of it, after being fed they looked more alive, and it seemed like it was finally dawning on them that they were really saved. Nine of the captive being girls were led by Cyra and Areia towards a near by stream to freshen up. The boys left stayed with Dan who fascinated them with stories from a book he read.
It was almost noon before the girls came back, apperantly, Cyra had gotten distracted and started hunting fishes in the stream, despite Areia's look of disproval and warning she didn't seem to react. It would seem she only react to Dan, Areia diagnosed. She the then proceeded to clean up the girls herself, she was sure they would be bruises here and there, but it seems her healing had gone a really good job, the girls were dirty down to the core, to the extent their hair stuck together and could practically be broken by hand. After fixing them up and drying their clothes, it took a powerful thug of Cyra's tail to let her yield Areia and follow them back to camp, lots of fish in hand, she had eaten some though, but there was nothing Areia could do about that.
Dan left Cyra in charge of preparing the fish as he led the boys to freshen up, but under Areia's watchful gaze. The boys seemed to be recovering faster than the girls, they laughed as the played with the water, Dan couldn't help but smile looking at them, he didn't need to groom the boys like Areia did the girls, they already knew what to do. Dan thought, they possibly couldn't be more than nine of ten years of age, I guess they have some self-care training after being alone for so long.
It didn't take long for them to arrive back at camp, everywhere was busy and noisy as the kids played, after they got their fair share of the fish Cyra caught, Dan brought them together and after making sure they were all good, he reassured them they were going to a safe place, after a series of good bye's from each of them Dan snapped his hand and they were gone.
Cyra glanced at Dan.
"Right then," he said, Cyra follow the scent, let's go finish off those slave traders.
Well it definitely wasn't what I was expecting, Areia said looking at the massive black creatures moving around the canyon. They had large stomach big enough to contain at least six grown men, their long arms slumped low, they looked like a pig who ran face first on a brick wall.
"Trolls!," Areia muttered.
I think there's an Elf somewhere, Cyra said looking around, I can smell him but can't see him, "she continued squinting at the crowd of trolls underfoot.
We'll worry about him later then, Dan said.
I think she's female, Cyra correct Dan.
That doesn't matter now does it, Dan said coldly. Cyra come with me, Areia deal with the trolls and pls don't get hurt.
" If those slow things can touch me I wouldn't be a prodigy now would I," Areia said smirking.
" We'll locate the kids," Dan said, he touched Cyra on the shoulder and they both turned to dust.
" Now then," Areia said," let's get to work".
Are you sure they're in the tunnel? Dan asked as soon as they got to the entrance of what seem like a mining ground, it went deep into the hill till it was pitch black. Dan sighed.
"Cyra there's something I need you to do for me, Dan said. There's another hole somewhere around, you take that, I Sense something coming from it, I'm sure with your nose and keen mana sense you'll be able to find what I'm talking about, he continued as he walked Into the mine.
I already know that, Cyra pouted as she walked away, I'm not dumb you know but Dan was gone.
The air was damp,Dan was immediately greeted by the smell of rotten flesh as soon as he walked a distance into the cave. I need to limit how much power I use, I don't want the sphere finding me after all, not while I'm busy.
Dan stopped in front of a dead boy, he had been dead for a while considering the amount of flesh maggots and other Insect had gotten of his corpse. His throat was slit, Dan thought. He bent down and covered the boy's eyes, the earth swallowed him slowly.
Are they being used for some sort of ritual, Dan said taking notes of the strange carvings on the walls, and seeing the state of these corpses, Dan turned looking at a large number of the dead, all throat slit. They didn't seem like they had died soon. The stench was so strong now that Dan had to create a wind shield above his head, only letting in oxygen and filtering the rest out.
Dan saw cages above the ceiling, in it more corpses, blood was drooling constantly from the cages, the cave widened and soon Dan found himself in what looked like a blood pool, he spotted some kids in the distance, on top of some altar an elf standing over them dagger in hand.
"Just who the hell are you!," she bellowed. Unlike most elves her voice wasn't pretty but hoarse and sounded horrible, like she had been speaking without water for days.
"How did you get past the trolls? She asked. " Oh I know you! You're that wanted bastard aren't you! She crackled. Dan didn't respond eyes fixed on the trembling tied up kids under her foot, there were three no doubt she had killed the rest.
"Are you deaf or something? She asked. Suddenly in front of Dan.
No doubt the space between us would have been nothing short of fifty feet, yet she covered it in no time, she's not a pushover,Dan thought, too bad I had to face her like this, I doubt she even knows the kind of horrible death she's about to experience.
Areia landed with a bang spraying rock and dust everywhere in the middle of the trolls, she didn't know how many they were but if she had to make a rough estimate they should be nothing short of a hundred trolls gathered around. They stopped looking around foolishly for what had landed, Areia stepped out calmly out the large hole she had created. The trolls were freakishly fast for their size, most of them that saw her emerge from the dust cloud attacked her instantly, it's futile, Areia thought. Her fist collided with the first it came in contact with turning it's entire mass to a pool of blood, the rest didn't have time to pull back before Areia got to them, it wasn't even a battle it was purely one-sided, eye balls flew, guts spilled, skulls shattered, it wasn't long before the troll's scream of battle became wailing of pain, soon it became quite, Areia stood in the pile of corpses, the army of trolls wiped out in a span of thirty seconds.
"Did I kill them too fast," she said wiping a smeer of blood from her face, I didn't even draw my sword, I should go look for master. She caught it purely by instinct, the sheer force of the massive axe nearly twice her size knocked her back a little, she skidded to a halt, holding the massive blade with one hand.
"Where do you think you're going," rang a voice in her head. "Don't think you can get away with massacring my tribe," it boomed.
"Oh! There's one more, Areia said coldly. The axe twitched and Areia let it go, it went back to the owner. The troll unlike the rest was unusually massive, no doubt the strongest of them all, it was at least eleven meters in height and was very muscular, it's eyeballs were back and it stared at Areia from the top of the canyon, it held a human arm, no doubt it had been feasting.
Areia looked at the mangled corpses of the trolls she had butchered with her bare hands and back at the clearly superior troll. If that creature had any sense, it would have sensed it's clearly outclassed, she thought. She looked at herself, aside from her boots and the smeer on her face she was spotless, she sighed, I don't want blood on me, she muttered softly.
The troll lifted the Axe above it's head and Areia was instantly locked in a gravitational field growing stronger by the second, the ground gave under the pressure.
Oh I definitely didn't expect it to have this high level of magic, Areia thought. Such a waste.
"How do you like it, the voice rang in her head painfully. How does it feel to be crushed and not able to move, beg and apologize for what you did to my tribe and maybe I'll make your death light.
Would you get out of my head, Areia scoffed angrily, landing a kick on his head that knocking him into the ground and the hill he was standing on shattered to bits. You don't have permission to be there, Areia said coldly. The axe came by with more Force and speed than before, Areia tilted her head slightly and it thundered past taking a strand of her hair. Well I guess everything thing can't go my way, Areia sighed. If only it had died on the first blow. Chains sprouted from the ground and bounded her in a flash, tej gravitational force Intensified, the trolls massive punch landed cleanly on Areia's body sending her crashing into cages and tumbling. The troll grabbed the end of the chain tied to one of his arm and swung Areia like a rag doll, slamming her into the earth and anything he could slam her into, the axe came by again hitting Areia in tej head at full force, he didn't let up, he swung her again this time towards the pool of blood, Areia reacted instantly, sending a streak of fireballs directly at his face, the monster covered it's eyes as the flame charred it's face, Areia snapped the chain with ease, but couldn't do anything about the gravitational force, she looked at her palm, jumped a little, "I guess this'll do, she said to herself.
The monster got the fire out of his now mangled face, his facial skeleton was now in the open, he looked for Areia with bloodshot eyes, but caught Areia's foot directly in his eye, taking out one of it's eyes. The troll trashed around in pain kicking dust and rocks everywhere.
" I'LL KILL YOU! I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU"It bellowed.
" What are you yelling for? It's not like you were exactly eye catching to begin with, Areia said calmly as her knee collided with his jaw with a thud shattering it's bones, the force lifted the troll into the air. Areia slammed him back down with a strong gush of wind.
Magic feels wierd, Areia thought. I don't think I can get use to it, at the very least I can perform elemental magic, though it's not as power as Dan's or Cyra's but it's still not bad. Dan's teaching sure are coming in handy.
" HOW CAN YOU MOVE SO FAST UNDER SUCH FORCE? It yelled, swinging it's gigantic madly at Areia. HOW COME YOU'RE NOT BEING CRUSHED?
"I'm hungry, Areia thought. Maybe I should have had seconds helping of fish when I was asked. Areia parried all the strikes, run up his arm and stomped it's other eye a couple of times, shattering it's neck, part of it's skull, the sheer force broke it's ankle. The giant mass stood twitching, as green light enveloped it's face.
"Oh! You can heal too" Areia said coldly. She took her sword but didn't unsheath it, she at on his shoulder and touched his face with it, nothing happened. Just as I thought, only if the person tries to wield the blade that kills em, that's messed up, Areia thought. She decapitated the troll in an instant and with a single clean strike, she jumped off it's shoulder as it's body collapsed dead.
Now let's go look for Dan, she muttered.
"I'll ask you again, just what are you trying to do, Dan said a cold fury boiling in him, the elf plastered on the mine wall, limbs twisted abnormally like a cloth.
As if someone like you would understand, she spat, her hands snapped back in place, she lunged for the children as they were much closer, Dan's punch landed squarely on the side of her head with a loud bang, something cracked as she was flung like a twig deep into the wall.
Dan freed the kids by burning the ropes slightly and snapping his fingers they disappeared.
You don't know what you've done, she bellowed deep from the cave, the ritual is almost complete, with these kids I should be able to wake him,she yelled. But you're ruining everything. She screamed lunging at Dan with a bang. Dan sliced her cleanly in two with his wind blade, she regenerated in an instant blade still in her hand, Dan let the blade pierced his Palm as he grabbed hold of her hand, she smirked. Dan blasted her away with a blue flame, her legs fell to the ground as half her body blew apart, the hand holding the knife limp in the air. From a distance she came out again.
Do you know that blade is poisoned, she smirked. Dan took removed the blade from his Palm slowly, looking at it, he threw it into the pool of blood, the part where the blade landed instantly became black.
"You'll be dying soon, she said dryly. Such a waste and you have a pretty face too. We'll it's not that it would have mattered, her green short hair frailing as she moved around the altar. Dan walked towards her slowly.
" So who are you trying to awaken with this blood ritual of yours, he said colly.
"Oh just the love of my life," she said carelessly kicking a skull. I might as well tell you that much.
And are you positive killing this many children would bring him back? Dan asked coldly. He stepped in the blood that reached his ankle it parted letting him walk on the hard soaked floor.
"I'm just trying anything I can,she said frowning a little. I don't know how else to cure petrification and I was told the blood of kids would do the trick, she scoffed bitterly.
"So in other words all this is a trial and error project," Dan said looking around.
" Yeah basically," she smirked. "After you're dead I'm going to go get more kids, I man you let the once I had here escape".
If you're talking about those slave traders village, they've been wiped out, Dan said coldly.
She frowned looking at him as if he had suddenly grown a second head," how do you know that", besides they were over a thousand men there, no way they were wiped out in a day!, she yelled.
Apparently they were attacked by a ravial marketer, Dan said looking at the bloody cages hanging from the ceiling, when we arrived we killed all we found, both rival and Allies.
"We?she asked frowning, are they more of you out there? Not that it matters, I rather pity them, the trolls are gonna make light snacks of them, now I'm wondering how did you get past the trolls.
"I don't think you fully understand the position you're in right now, Dan said coldly. She was abruptly dragged by an unknown force towards Dan looking at him face to face. Your regeneration isn't going to save you from me, his voice growing deeper by the second. I'll make you wish you were never born. She was abruptly lunched from the mine deep underground, she broke through the solid ground arriving on the surface, her back a bloody mess, her brain showing. She regenerated instantly, half her head was blown apart before she could get up and process what was happening. She started regenerating again but was abruptly crushed by two large boulders the size of large oak trees.
This is much deeper than I thought, Cyra said, waving away cobwebs and spiders from her line of sight. It's cold here, she shivered walking in deeper. They were dry skeletons everywhere in dark robes.
What a nasty sight, she said in disgust as she stepped over them, the tunnel seem to narrow as she got deeper. "Honestly I would have gone back by now but I'm sensing a presence deeper in here, I'm sure that's why Dan sent me here" . "Wait I just realized, Cyra suddenly yelled, her voice echoed through the tunnel, " I'm the hero shouldn't I be the one sending Dan on missions or into dark spooky caves", I'll deal with that once I get out, but, she started walking side ways as the tunnel suddenly thinned and she could only get go forward by scraping between walls.
"Should I just blow a hole," she thought, nah I might accidentally crash this cave, I mean it seems super ancient.
The walls suddenly expanded and gave way a large boulder dropped from where she had passed.
"Really? Cyra sighed catching the humongous thing that could easily be twenty times her size and height with one hand. Is this the best trap they could put here? It's so ancient and primitive, what next arrows from the walls. And surely she hadn't walked for long boulder still in her hand before she was riddled with arrows from the walls they broke after coming in contact with her. The path suddenly became a slide, she threw the rock as she slid down laughing.
" This is kind of fun!, she laughed. Her joy was short lived she soon fell into a dark hole and on an extremely hard rock. Is this supposed to be lava, she said feeling it. Too bad it's gone cold. I've been feeling itchy lately, I could have washed my tail in it, she sighed. The boulder rolled past and crashed some distance ahead. " My bad, she called out. After getting out the hole, she continued proceeding forward. After more arrows, Rock, some poison and another spicky slide, she fell out the end. It was spacious, blood spilling slightly from the cave's roof.
It's so dark, Cyra muttered. Not that it's a problem but at least light should be on here, she said creating little sparks of light that floated around the cave.
She saw the blood pouring from the cave walls and ceiling now that's dumb, she said sadly. Who ever told a gullible bastard blood cures petrification, she yelled. All those sacrifices for what? She said softly. Don't you agree, she said at the stone statue in the middle of the room.
He was clearly an elf, book in hand, sat down as if reading peacefully before petrified. You're not all bad yourself, she said.
I usually tell a good person from the bad the moment I look at them, it's one of my many abilities, though I can't use it on those of a certain level, I definitely couldn't use it on Dan, but Areia like this stone guy statue they're neither good nor bad, Cyra thought tilting her head. It's weird, just what did you do to be petrified. She walked around him, "just what book are you reading" she could help but laugh at the words on the page that was opened, either you're a hopeless romantic or you're a dense bastard for you to be learning about love from a book.
"Now the problem is should I free you or not? I mean you are clearly the source of the magic I've been sensing, then again I'm not that smart so maybe freeing you would be a mistake, she sighed sitting cross legged close to the statue. What a pain. She stared at the Elf's calm face he's definitely young, yeah definitely probably about a hundred years old or so, why do they like keeping long hair tho, she thought subconsciously touching the statue's hair, almost immediately a cracked appeared on the statue and it started spreading.
" Oh shoot, Cyra yelled startled. "Oh no pls don't break, remain petrified. Damnit I forgot I automatically undo any curse I touch. The stone started falling of piece by piece. " No, No,No, is this bad? I don't know. Just remain a stone man for crying out loud, Cyra said shrilly at the now awakening statue.
His blue eyes shone as stone fell from his eyes and face,he got up slowly, his equally blue hair once petrified fell down his shoulder. His robe fluttered about him without wind, it was obviously too big for him but it stayed on him nonetheless. He got up, his almond skin glowing in the room. Cyra stared at him frantically.
"Um! Hello! Mr!, by chance are you nice? Cyra asked fidgeting with her hair. His core mana is off the charts.
Are you one of those that imprisoned me? Nevermind that's a stupid question, but for an undead you sure are polite with your words, the elf said slowly and calmly. His voice was soothing.
" Undead?what are you talking about, Cyra asked smiling nervously. He suddenly grabbed her by the throat and lifted her up the ground.
Just how many people have you killed and just what were you planning on doing with this blood and my petrified state? He asked coldly strengthening his grip. What sort of ritual were you planning on doing.
I don't usually appreciate people touching me without my permission, she replied coldly dangling from his grip. Only very people have that right, now if you be so nice and get your hand of me I might let you go with just a smack on the head.
You're definitely strong I'd give you that, the fact that you're not even taking any defensive measure despite be choked is a testament to that, just how many people have you sacrificed to be this strong. Damn undead,he growled.
Undead, undead, she mimicked sarcastically. Aren't I too pretty to be an undead, she scoffed sending him into the cave walls with a single kick. "I told you to stop touching me, she added menancily.
Pretty? Came a voice from the walls, I can't believe a skeleton just called themselves pretty, now that's first, he laughed.
Skeleton? Just what are you- Cyra was suddenly launched back violently, shattering the cave on impact, the force that had been displayed since the waken of the stone man caused the cave to start collapsing.
A large pillar of fire suddenly erupted from deep underground, penetrating the surface with ease, the elf stood in the midst of it. He spotted Dan holding a head, he recognized the head as another skeleton.
His voice rang through the air in an echo, "more undeads" just my luck.
Dan dropped the head of the elf he was holding, she didn't regenerate, it rolled of, he took a step forward towards the elf in the pillar of fire.
"Dan! Don't," Cyra suddenly yelled, emerging from a crack underground. "I think he's confused about something, don't worry I'll handle him". After all it's my fault he's free.
A large ball of fire immediately lunched towards them, Areia caught it and redirected it with a powerful kick, it exploded in a distance.
Three undeads, not that it matters, he said drawing his hand back as if holding an invincible arrow, Cyra dashed forward on all fours getting his attention, he released his hand and three lightning arrows shot forward. One for each of you,he said calmly. The lightning arrows abruptly disappeared as Cyra's kick landed on his head, sending him into the ground, he rolled and got up instantly, launching a massive piece of rock towards Crya who was still mid Air.
"Oh come on! I'm tired of rocks, she said lunching it back with such force the elf had to jump out the way. Cyra crashed on the ground unable to get up. A large arrow pointing downard on her head.
" Gravity magic? Just my luck, She muttered. She waved her hand towards the elf, the air was suddenly chilled by the sheer amount of ice that suddenly covered the terrain, Dan held Areia close as the ice enveloped them.
The elf parried Cyra's punches as they danced on top the thick ice.
You're not a close combatant are you? She smiled, as her heavy punches landed non stop on his face, he could only parry the little he could. He made to distance himself from her.
"Where the hell are you going?she smiled sweetly, come on let's get close and personal, she laughed stepping on his foot attacking with a barrages of punches. The arrow appeared on her head again and she was instantly crushing into the ground. Heavy lightning struck Cyra in huge waves, rocks, flame balls lunched at her continuously.
For someone who talk to big, you definitely aren't living up to your big mouth, she laughed.
The elf levitated, getting the entire now icy field in view, the gravity arrow had disappeared but she could see the girl. He spotted Dan and Areia not far off and launched streaks of gigantic ice towards them. Cyra caught the first one before it reached Dan, the sheer size of the thing was so massive she looked like a rat holding a sixtyfeet ice boulder. She launched it shattering the rest incoming.
I wouldn't attack them if I were you, Cyra said suddenly standing face to face with him in a flash. Something rang In her head as she fell to the ground in pain.
You're too cocky for your own good. You've got nice defences but what if I attacked your mind. Cyra teary eyed grabbed ice in pain as she trashed around. With a careless wave of his hand he lunched her far away out of sight and following up with large explosive flame balls.
Now then, which of you would I take care of next? He asked coldly from above Peering at Dan and Areia from his cold blue eyes.
The ice launched at him was blocked by an invincible barrier round him, he turned around stopping Crya in the distance, blood dripping down the side of her Head.
"Focus on me! If you don't want to be in a world of pain, she yelled as she lunched herself high into the air, The elf swatted her carelessly, she landed with a thud and sprinted again the arrow appeared on her head, the ground gave way but Cyra was still moving.
I've never met an undead so Infatuated with me before, he said, but slightly annoyed at her resilience. He made to swat her again but some how she dodged the invisible force, the fire balls and lightnings were of no effect anymore, they couldn't catch her much less harm her. Cyra's punch landed with a loud bang on his barrier, the air rippled by the sheer force of her punch, she was back on the ground before the elf could react and back up again landing punch after punch on the barrier.
I can't see her, thought the elf, are undead supposed to be moving that fast and that strong. His thought was suddenly Interrupted as Cyra's punch landed on his head with a bang, his vision blurred as he landed crashing into the icy ground. He got up with difficulty and felt something warm and wet running down his face, he was bleeding. My spell I'd definitely still active,he thought, and she's still moving that fast u der that strong gravitational force, he stared around intently. Cyra's kick lifted him off the ground as her punch brought him back down, the elf was completely helpless as Cyra who seem to come out of thin air again and again landing punches. After a while he started getting a rhythm to her movements, he started catching punches, tho still taking damage he was able to catch a few.
Found you, he yelled, as he lunched what looked like a dark sphere towards Cyra, surely it had accurate and it would have hit her, had she not been considerably faster than he expected.
Just what are you looking at, she called suddenly behind him, the sphere hit the ground and that portion of the terrain immediately disintegrated and vanished. Cyra's lightning caught him cleanly on his head, launching him forward, he used the momentum to fly and out some distance, Cyra caught up with him in an instant stomping him into the ground.
If you just shut up and listen, Cyra cried shrilly, pressing her foot hard against his head, the gravity arrow was not helping matters as it made her move heavy than normal.
Listen to what, he boomed underfoot. There's no use talking to an undead and not one with so many lives on their conscience more less. The air crackled with the smell of burnt wood as Cyra was violently and unceremoniously blown away by a thunderbolt. The elf sighed got up and with a calm gesture healed his wounds.
Unlike the Elf's attacks so far, this last attack did have an effect on Cyra, she fell stumbled, crashed and rolled down the slippery ice into a ditch. During their fight they've managed to change the terrain and make it somewhat uneven. Cyra struggled to get up she fell again, and surely enough she was violently struck by two more thunderbolts. Supported her self up shakily on all fours, the Elf stood over her eyes cold, he delivered a nasty kick to her skull followed heavy kicks to her midsection. Cyra stretched out her hand, the elf stomped on it. She gritted her teeth as blood poured out her mouth, but she didn't scream in pain. She didn't even wimper as more of the hits keep coming.
Not that it matters, but I just wanted to ask why aren't you using that big ass sword on your back, the cold eyes penetrated Cyra like an open book. Is it some kind of conditional sword? His eyes glowed menancily as large rocks started gathering round his arm, they twisted and merged forming a hammer with a very large head.
The first blow sent Cyra spinning through the air like a rag doll. She got up slowly but was greeted by another and more, " you're not so though now aren't you?
I'll keep chipping away at your natural defences till you're nothing but a frail little girl, his words rang as the hammer landed hit after hit. Soon Cyra stood beaten and bloodied but still standing.
Not all elemental magic are equal, he thought. It's like how you can't compare the fire potency of a mage to that if a dragon, it's not even a close matchup, same goes to the lightning attack I used just now, tho they consume a lot of core mana, they are the perfect counter to someone with natural defences, as it hits on a molecular scale, weakening both the body and soul. Someone normal would have died on impact, it's a testament to her strength that she's still standing after three strikes and blows from my hammer. At this rate I don't think I'll be able to beat the other two in the state that I'm in, at the very least they don't seem to want to interfare, he glanced at Dan and Areia from ten corner of his eye. Once I kill this one I'll teleport and maybe someday I'll come after the rest.
You overcharged my electrical signals didn't you, Cyra smiled. It's been a while since I've been this badly beaten.
If that's the way you want to understand it, be my guest, the elf lifted the hammer and struck, Cyra caught it pulled him close and delivered a nasty kick to his neck. He stumbled as the kinetic force made him let go of the hammer, he gained his footing too late, Cyra punched his gut focusing most of her strength on a single point of his body rather then blunt punching, had he eaten something he no doubt would have puked, he responded with a punch to Cyra's face then another thunderbolt, but he was too close it hit him too. Cyra being physically stronger than he was recovered first landed a heavy kick on his groin, he bent down in pain, her knee collided with his head with a blunt thud, he knelt him couple more times, he fell back against the icy ground exhausted.
Cyra fell over him blowing a hole just beside his head. Since you can't fight anymore would you listen now? She sighed looking at him with her deep brownish eyes. They were almost nose to nose, reeking of sweat and blood, both tired, but Cyra still has the advantage. The cold air stinging against her wounds.
It's not like I have a choice now do I, he muttered dryly.
Finally, Cyra sighed pulling back her hair from her face. She sat down beside him breathing heavily.
You're breathing? He asked somewhat astonished.
Of course I am, how else am I supposed to stay alive, she laughed. If only you'd noticed that sooner.
Cyra covered his eyes with her palm, he flinched but didn't have the strength to mover her away, when she removed her hand he saw her fair beaten hand leave his face, it wasn't that of a skeleton or an undead, it was that if a living being. He couldn't help but admired her even when she was half covered in sores and blood and reeking of sweat.
Honestly I could have just done that from the beginning, she panted, rather than punching your face that is, she smiled. By the way you had a curse in your eyes.
I can see that now, he took deep breath, glancing at her secretly.
What? She asked, can't get enough can you?
"No! I'm wondering when you're going to start explaining.
" Oh! She laughed throwing her hair back, the elf stared wide eyed, I don't know anything about that, but my friend there can help, she said pointing at Dan and Areia.
At the sight of them now full of flesh, he gulped. Dark haired boy looked like he wanted to rip him apart and the white hair, I don't think she See's me as a person at all. She seems like she'd do anything the boy commanded,he thought.
Dan and Areia walked up to them, so I take it, everything is resolved? He asked.
Yup, Cyra smiled. He's really weak now so hurry up Dan and tell him the gist of things before he starts attacking again.
Dan sighed sat down on the Elf's other side and started explaining all he knew.
I didn't know kite was In love with me, neither did I know she had a dark side, the elf spoke calmly. I don't know why I was sealed to begin with, he continued.
Yh it did seem like you didn't know you were being sealed, Cyra but in, not with that book you were reading.
You saw the book? He said flushing, please take it to the grave with you, he muttered embarrassed.
No problem, Cyra smiled tail wagging.
So did you kill her? The elf blue eyes narrowed.
I had no choice, Dan spoke, she was going to procure more kids if I didn't stop her somehow, he sighed. Besides the greatest mercy someone like that could have is death.
So I really have been sealed fifty years uh! The elf sighed it finally dawning on him. He sat up and ruffled his slik blue hair. Just what da hell. And you black hair boy, I'm sure you already know but Incase you don't, how the hell are you alive without a core?
Dan smiled, not only that I'm currently the most wanted person on the planet right now, he smiled. He patted Areia on the head, then held Cyra's hand who held the elf, the large Sphere appeared above their heads instantly as they teleported.
