Chapter 76 - Anissa

A week passed, and true to his word, Max spent quality one-on-one time with each of the women. The dates were varied and thoughtful, reflecting Max's effort to understand and appreciate each individual's interests and personalities. On the seventh day, he found himself on a date with marcy in a nice French restaurant.

Marcy looked stunning in a red dress, her curly hair cascading down her back. The candlelight flickered, casting a warm glow over the table. "Max," she began, her voice soft yet carrying a hint of seriousness, "I've been thinking..."

Before Marcy could finish her sentence, a powerful grip suddenly wrapped around Max's neck from behind. He was lifted off the ground effortlessly as Anissa appeared out of nowhere, her Viltrumite strength evident in every muscle of her arm. The restaurant fell silent as patrons gasped and stared in shock.

Max's quick thinking and teleportation ability saved him from being choked out instantly. He reappeared next to Marcy, looking surprised but composed. Anissa's eyes widened briefly at his sudden disappearance and reappearance, her grip closing on empty air before she growled and turned her attention to Marcy instead.

" I have not come here to fight. I merely wish to talk."

"Look if you leave this place and We will meet you in the sky."

Anissa's eyes narrowed, her powerful Viltrumite body tensing. She could see the authority in Max's voice, the command. Without a word, she nodded sharply and turned, striding out of the restaurant with powerful steps. Max turned to Marcy, his expression softening.Within minutes, Max and Marcy (now dressed as Invincible) met Anissa high above the city, the three of them hovering in the night sky. Anissa looked smaller compared to them, but no less intimidating. "I did not mean to interrupt your meal,"

Anissa's voice carried across the thin air, respectful but firm. "I am Anissa, a Viltrumite warrior sent by the Viltrumite Empire. I requested to speak with Marcy Grayson, but this..." she gestured vaguely at Max, "...is unexpected."

Marcy floated forward, her flight suit glinting in the moonlight. "That's Max,"

Anissa's expression shifted, recognition flashing in her eyes. "The human with Viltrumite powers? I've heard reports but never expected to meet you face to face." She looked between Max and Marcy, putting pieces together. "You two are... close?"

Max hovered slightly behind Marcy, a protective stance that Anissa noticed immediately. Marcy turned to him, sharing a silent look before answering Anissa, "Yes. We're close. Really close." She emphasized the last part, making it clear she wasn't just talking about friendship.

Anissa's eyes widened slightly at Marcy's straightforwardness. She processed this information, her expression turning thoughtful. "Then this makes my mission more complicated," she muttered softly before steeling herself and continuing, "Marcy Grayson, I was sent to see if you would listen to reason we can help this planet."

Marcy crossed her arms, her expression guarded. "Help? Or conquer?" she challenged. Anissa held up her hands in a peaceful gesture. "I understand your suspicion. The Viltrumite Empire has not been known for...diplomatic. But things are changing." She paused, choosing her words carefully.

"The Empire has seen the value of... cooperation." Anissa said carefully. "Many worlds have benefited from our guidance. Stability, order, prosperity." She smiled thinly. "We only ask for your compliance, Marcy Grayson. Earth would become a protected territory. You would serve the Empire, and in return, your people would flourish." She glanced at Max. "And you would be allowed to keep your unusual... companion." Anissa's eyes flickered between Max and Marcy, her gaze lingering on their close hovering positions. "He seems valuable. Strong. The Empire could use more like him." She paused, her meaning clear - Max would be treated well if he cooperated.

They both get a call from Cecil telling them a kaiju was attacking a cruise ship. " if you really mean what you said then come with us there's a ship a few miles south of here that needs help."

Anissa's expression turned serious at the mention of the kaiju attack. Without hesitation, she nodded. "Very well. I will prove my intentions by helping you save those people." She fell into step with Max and Marcy as they sped towards the cruise ship under threat.

As they flew south, the devastation became clear - a massive kaiju was smashing through a cruise ship like it was a toy. Thousands of people screamed in terror, lifeboats dangling dangerously from the sinking vessel. Anissa watched the chaos, her Viltrumite instincts assessing the threat. "What manner of creature is that?" she asked, genuinely surprised by the kaiju's massive size.

Max flew in front of it and hit him with a black flash.

The black flash hit the kaiju with incredible force, causing it to stagger backward. Its massive form trembled as the energy washed over it, and for a moment, it seemed stunned. Anissa watched in awe as Max's power demonstrated itself, the raw energy pulsing through the air. "By the Empire..."

Marcy's fists connected with the kaiju's head and body with extraordinary speed and strength, each blow sending shockwaves through the creature's tough hide. Anissa could see the kaiju's resistance weakening under the relentless assault. Impressed, she decided it was time to show her own capabilities.

In a display of pure Viltrumite power, Anissa launched herself towards the struggling kaiju. She punched it squarely in the face with all her might. The impact was explosive, sending the massive creature careening through the air before crashing into the ocean with a thunderous splash. The cruise ship stopped sinking, the immediate danger averted.

The sudden silence was deafening after the kaiju's destruction. Max and Marcy turned to Anissa, their expressions a mix of shock and gratitude. The Viltrumite stood tall, her fist still clenched from the powerful punch that ended the threat. "Is that sufficient proof of my intentions?"

"I still don't trust you."

Anissa's expression hardened at Max's response, a hint of offense flashing in her eyes. "I understand your suspicion," she said calmly, her gaze shifting between Max and Marcy. "I have just saved thousands of lives. I could have easily turned this situation to my advantage but chose to help instead."

"To Manipulate us."

Anissa's patience was clearly wearing thin, but she kept her tone controlled. "If I wanted to manipulate you, I would have let the kaiju destroy the ship while we talked," she pointed out logically. "I am trying to show you that not all Viltrumites are enemies."

"But the both of them don't seem to be fallen for her act."

Anissa sighed internally, realizing that Max and Marcy were more discerning than she initially thought. She decided to play her final card, hoping it would sway their opinion. "Fine," she said, her voice taking on a more serious tone. "Then perhaps this will convince you." She paused dramatically.

Without warning, Anissa was in front of Marcy and delivered a devastating punch directly to her chest. The force sent Marcy flying high into the sky, her body trailing flames as she struggled to regain control. Max immediately flew after her, his expression filled with shock and anger. "ANISSA!"

Marcy plummeted through the clouds, struggling to regain flight as her body reeled from the massive impact. Anissa stood where Marcy had been, her expression completely neutral. "You said you did not trust me," she explained calmly, as if she had just done something completely normal. "Now you know that I am capable of violence whenever I choose."

"so am I." He said, punching her in the gut with a black flash,

The force of Max's punch was immense, the black energy surrounded his fist and hit Anissa square in the stomach. She plunged downward, her body tearing through the atmosphere and crashing into the ground with a massive explosion. A enormous crater formed where she impacted, smoke and fire spreading out in all directions.

Anissa lay in the crater, her massive form slowly rising from the wreckage. She stood up, dusting off her clothes as if nothing had happened. She looked up at Max, her expression unreadable. "Interesting," she said simply, her voice echoing across the destroyed landscape.

Max hovered above the crater, his body surrounded by a dark aura as he prepared for another attack. Marcy appeared beside him, her chest heaving but otherwise unharmed. Anissa raised her hands in a peaceful gesture. "Stop," she commanded, her voice serious for the first time.

"I have proven my point," Anissa continued, her voice steady and commanding. "You both are powerful enough to handle me. I am not here to fight you or manipulate you. I am here to offer an alliance." She paused, allowing her words to sink in before adding, "And if you refuse the next Viltrumite we send won't be as kind."

"we will take your warning you can leave now."

Anissa nodded curtly, understanding their dismissal. Without another word, she vanished into a the sky with a burst of speed, leaving Max and Marcy alone in the devastated landscape. The crater she had created was a stark reminder of her power, and the warning she left hung heavy in the air.

As Anissa traveled back to Viltrum, she couldn't shake the feeling of unease. Max and Marcy were unlike any opponents she had faced before. Their power and determination were impressive, and she found herself strangely drawn to them. She pushed these thoughts aside, focusing instead on reporting back to the grand Regent.
