When Iris and her companions came down the mountain after a couple of days, they found out that not even a soul was waiting for them. It seemed like everyone hurriedly went home, abandoning everything including their carriages.
"What happened here? Where is everyone?" Fan Jin asked while looking around.
"Something does not feel right" Ye Shan said and expanded his qi to probe their surrounding.
"There's someone nearby" Iris said after sensing the person's presence.
They immediately moved in the direction and found a wounded disciple from a small sect.
"Quick help him up" Fan Jin said as he brought out a pill bottle from his space ring.
Xiu Mei helped the wounded disciple up while Fan Jin fed him a pill. After a couple of minutes, the disciple Finally regained consciousness.
"How are you feeling?" Fan Jin asked.
"What happened to you?" Xiu Mei asked too.
"Y..you guys are from the sage pavilion, you have to go back quickly before it's too late" the disciple said fearfully.
"Easy, what happened?" Xiu Mei asked in a soothing voice.
"A few days after the disciples of the Ming yue sect came back, those disciples who fell off the mountain and died suddenly came back to life but they were not themselves anymore. They became monsters. They started killing their fellow disciples and then, those dead disciples came back to life too as monsters. There were monsters everywhere. We couldn't just fight them all and that's when the Holy son got a message from his son the guardian. The sage pavilion was under attack from the Scarlet sect. The Scarlet sect came with those monster armies. The Holy son had to perform a powerful strike that weakened him and that was the only way the monsters here were destroyed. The only survivers were the holy son, the Ming yue sect leader and his only disciple and then a couple of other disciples" the disciples said.
"How did you get here?" Fan Jin asked.
"I tried to escape when I thought we couldn't make it. I managed to run away with multiple wounds at the expense of my fellow disciples. I was waiting for death before you saved me" the disciple said as tears and snort dripped down his face.
"We need to go now" Ye Shan said and summoned his teleportation device.
"You must be careful or you will die! The sage pavilion will not hold for long! If we stay together, we can protect each other" As the disciple finished speaking,a punch landed squarely on his face sending him crashing into a nearby tree.
"Coward" Iris spat coldly before she and her companions teleported away.
At the foot of the mountain where the sage pavilion was sited, the stench of blood and rotting corpse filled the air. Even the predator's that lurked in the fog seemed to have immigrated.
"So much blood shed" Xiu Mei gasped out.
"It is worse than what that disciple explained" Ye Shan said while stepping over a body.
As Iris tried to step over a body, it suddenly moved and grabbed her ankle.
"Out worldly soul if you had joined us, you would have avoided this massacre. And your beloved mother and brother will not have suffered" the corpse said before falling lifeless again.
Iris stiffened and a whirlwind of emotions swept through her.
"I will kill you" She said through gritted teeth as she bubbled like a volcano with pure rage.
"Go save your family, we'll go assist our brothers and sisters" Fan Jin said.
"I'll go with little Lan" Ye Shan said and handed the teleportation device to Xiu Mei.
"You and Fan Jin will go and assist our people" He added.
"This is my fight"Iris gritted out while trying to rein in the oppressive blood thirst wanting to overwhelm her.
"It is your fight but you don't have to fight Alone." Ye Shan replied then added."it is not an appeal" His eyes gleamed with determination.
"Keep up" Iris said simply before disappearing from her position in a flash. Ye Shan nodded at Fan Jin and Xiu Mei before going after Iris who was now nothing but a bolt of light traveling in the direction of the Scarlet sect.
Iris was out for blood and she will not stop until she has spilled enough to quench her blood thirst. Ye Shan followed Iris carefully and praying within himself that she wouldn't get overwhelmed.
By the time they got to the Scarlet sect, Iris literally killed her way into the Scarlet sect. By the time she stood before the Scarlet sect leader, she was soaked from head to toe with both her blood and the blood of those she had sent on their way to hell.
She looked every inch like a demon. Her eyes gleamed with blood thirst and murder.
"I was waiting for you, out worldly soul. I almost thought you missed your way here" the Sovereign of the Scarlet sect said with pure madness gleaming in his eyes.
"Where. Is. My. Family?!" Iris screamed with so much murder that the amused smirk on the Scarlet sect sovereign's face fell..
"They are alive.... For now" the Sovereign said.
"I. Will. Kill. You" Iris said as she vibrated with pure rage and hate.
"No you won't. You will join me and then sacrifice yourself to make me stronger or I will turn your precious family into my killing puppets. Oh and least I forget, your dear master, the Holy son sacrificed himself to create the shield that protects the sage pavilion. How touching" the Sovereign said with an air of nonchalance.
"I didn't expect that making a deal with the neather beast king would be so profitable. The Holy son is dead and in exchange for this, you'll be sacrificed to the neather beast king and he will grant me immense power to become the ruler of this realm" the Sovereign concluded with a loud mad laughter.
Ye Shan almost Collapsed from the news about his master's death. Hatred vibrated through him.
"I am going to kill you deranged bastard" Iris spat as her qi swirled around her like a storm. Ye Shan also released his qi to the fullest.
