Chapter 326 - Chapter 326: Secrets of Potential and Power

"I'm not sure. But think about it—what type does your team lack the most right now? Let Eevee evolve into whatever attribute you're missing."

Sabrina's comment struck Ash like lightning. She had unintentionally reminded him of an attribute he had completely overlooked ever since arriving in this world.

"Oh… the Fairy-type. It didn't exist back during the early period. I only saw mentions of it in my grandfather's old research notes. I can't believe I ignored it until now."

Sabrina shook her head. "Not exactly. Even Kanto has Fairy Pokémon. That Clefairy we saw earlier counts as one. And your Ralts should also be part Fairy. Moves like Disarming Voice and Charm—those are Fairy moves. They counter Dark-types like Murkrow."

Ash clutched his head in frustration.

"Damn it, I actually missed something this obvious. That's embarrassing."

Ralts was indeed a dual Psychic/Fairy Pokémon. The information was clearly listed in its data, yet Ash had overlooked it completely.

Thinking back, he remembered old forum discussions from his previous life—endless theory-crafting about how Eevee could evolve into a Fairy-type, even though such an evolution didn't exist yet in that era of the games.

"If I'm right… I can make this work. Even in this world."

Ash sat cross-legged in the grass, thinking hard as the memories resurfaced.

"First, Eevee needs a high level of intimacy with its Trainer—no problem there. Second, it needs to learn a Fairy-type move like Charm or Baby-Doll Eyes. Eevee already knows those."

He frowned.

"But Eevee still hasn't evolved. Which means there's another condition I'm forgetting."

"Wait… Eevee's evolutions have always been tied to environmental elements. Even evolution stones change its genes using condensed elemental energy."

That thought sparked instant clarity.

"In that case…"

"Mokuton!"

A massive tree erupted from the earth in front of Ash, glowing with vibrant, overflowing life force. The moment Eevee brushed against the tree's vitality, its body shone with a brilliant white light.

[Eevee is evolving…]

Ash smiled.

"Perfect. Mokuton carries immense vitality—its nature is restorative. Once Eevee made contact with that life energy, its unstable genes stabilized instantly. That lets the dominant element take hold… turning Eevee into a Fairy-type—Sylveon."

"Meaning Eevee's evolution is extremely sensitive to its environment. The right surge of elemental energy repairs its unstable genes, and whichever attribute takes majority becomes its evolution's dominant type."

Sabrina stared at the newly evolved Pokémon—pink fur, ribbon-like feelers, delicate yet radiant.

"Ash… what Pokémon is this?"

"This is Sylveon, a Fairy-type evolution based on Eevee's adaptable genes. And I've finally discovered the final secret behind Eevee's evolutions."

Sabrina approached, her eyes shining.

"What an adorable Pokémon. What abilities does it have?"

She opened her Pokédex, but it displayed nothing, so she looked to Ash instead.

"Sylveon—pure Fairy-type. It's strong against Fighting, Ghost, Dragon, Dark, Poison, and Steel types."

"What?! It restrains Dragons?"

Sabrina blinked in disbelief.

"But Clefairy is a Fairy-type too. Why can't it counter Dragons the same way?"

"Fairy-type Pokémon can restrain Dragon-types, yes. But Clefairy isn't built for combat. Type advantage doesn't matter if the species isn't suited for battle."

Ash unrolled a scroll and began recording Eevee's evolutionary data. After reaching the next city, he planned to ask Professor Oak to publish the findings.

[Sylveon Registered — Evolution Theory Updated]

"System, check Sylveon's current attributes for me."

Ash looked at the newly evolved Fairy-type Pokémon, finally feeling relaxed. Moments ago he was struggling over Eevee's evolution path—now he had a powerful partner in his hands.

[Ding!]

Name: Sylveon

Level: Elite (Heavenly King–class)

Abilities:

• Cute Charm — 30% chance to infatuate opponents upon physical contact

• Pixilate — Normal-type moves become Fairy-type

Typing: Pure Fairy

Potential: B+

Ash exhaled in satisfaction.

"Not bad at all. I managed to draw out every ounce of Eevee's potential. And now it's jumped straight past quasi-Elite and reached the peak of Elite level instantly. Potential really is amazing… and only I can fully control it."

Sylveon nuzzled against him, clearly delighted with its new form and strength.

Ash smiled, then dispelled the massive tree he'd created with Mokuton. Leaving something with such intense vitality behind would disrupt the natural balance of the forest. Mokuton belonged to him alone—it wasn't meant to linger outside.

Night fell.

After dinner, Ash let Ralts and Murkrow rest, returning them to their Poké Balls. Sylveon followed shortly after.

"The next Pokémon to evolve should be Ralts," Ash murmured to himself.

"As for Murkrow, I'll keep its evolution suppressed for now. It hasn't undergone systematic training before—I need to polish its foundation properly."

He looked toward the moonlit grassland, already planning the next phase of their growth.
