Roy and his sibling essentially went on a shopping spree. They bought new clothes, Pokémon food, camping tents, Poké Balls, Premier Balls, new shoes, socks, underwear, pots & pans, lighters, Ice, Coolers, Spices, and more.
The Storage Backpack could stop time and preserve food, which was a special feature of the High Grade variant. So foods like vegetables, fruits, and meat wouldn't go bad while inside the Storage Backpack.
Roy bought a massive fish tank at another store that sold somewhat luxurious goods. He wanted to place Magikarp in this fish tank when he went out camping, or Dratini could hang out in it as well.
His Brother and Sister, Lucian and Luna, had to make bank accounts. Once they were home after their shopping spree and eating out at a restaurant, Roy discussed the house.
He was going to renovate it and sell it, and after much discussion, they agreed. That same day, Roy put the order in. He wanted new floors, a new roof, a new kitchen, bathroom, piping, everything.
Roy even paid extra for them to get started right away, and they arrived the next day to work on the house. This was not before he signed in at the Black Market and got an item called the Phantom Mask.
Many workers showed up at their house to work on different parts of the house. By then, Roy and his siblings had cleared out everything. They simply stored things they didn't want getting in the way of the renovations.
While this was going on, they simply checked into a hotel within Pallet Town.
"This hotel is far better than our house; I love it here!" Everyone had their own room, and Luna was loving the accommodation that came with living here.
Swimming Pool, spa, sauna room, and a pool for Pokémon to hang out.
"Of course, our house hasn't been managed in years." Lucian shook his head and stated the obvious.
"The house renovations should net us a lot of money with upgrades. That money would be enough to fund our whole journey if we aren't wasteful."
Troy was always concerned with the house while they were all away. When Roy mentioned the idea of selling it after the renovations, he immediately agreed. Although he did wonder about the cost of the renovations, Roy informed him that the money had already been provided.
Roy began feeding his Pokémon more nutritious food, such as Pokéblocks. These Pokéblocks were packed with energy and naturally boosted clarity and the overall aptitude of a Pokémon over time.
"There are certain Pokéblocks a Pokémon can eat which have these prolonged effects. Fortunately, this is near the sea, and people can get their hands on Water-specific Pokéblocks."
There were type-specific Pokéblocks that also had ratings: Low, Medium, and High. Most had Low-graded Water Pokéblocks, which wasn't bad; it just took longer for a Pokémon's aptitude to rise, but it was effective.
"Most people only had access to low-grade Pokéblock cubes, while the privileged had access to medium-grade. High-rank Apothecaries usually hid how they made their Pokéblocks and sold them for a high price.
Apothecary Masters considered their creations as Legacies, never to be passed around. These were some of the richest and most influential people, and many would pay tons of cash to have one join their guild or be on their speed dial.
Magikarp sat inside of a small pool, enough for it to submerge itself. Roy had fed it Low Grade Pokéblocks in great quantities. He planned to do this three times a day for it.
Unfortunately, they didn't sell Dragon and Psychic-specific Pokéblocks in Pallet. Roy also bought some special solution for Magikarp's scales to bring back its radiant golden color.
"Alright, it's time to apply the solution to your scales, buddy." Roy took Magikarp out of the small Pokémon pool and dried it off before applying it. Magikarp didn't put up a fight after eating so well just recently; it was already full.
"The bottle said I should start seeing results in a week from now." The cream was applied all over its body, as it was meant to seep into its scales.
"Shiny Pokemon usually were bullied among their peers because they looked different." Roy surmised that this was the case for this Magikarp. He even believed it got caught on purpose, so a human could feed it, or was so desperate to eat that it was hooked onto a line.
"This Pokémon isn't too smart, but it understands actions more than words." The Pokédex and researchers describe Magikarp as an outright imbecile.
Roy had to order Dragon and Psychic-type Pokéblocks on the Alliance site. Once they were shipped, he retrieved them and fed them to his other two Pokémon.
After ten minutes of waiting for the moisture to seep in and disappear, he placed Magikarp back into the pool.
"Alright, so far. My future Pokémon will be Dragonite, Alakazam, and Gyarados. I also want to get my hands on a Bulbasaur. It isn't my favorite Kanto starter, but it will fit my team really well in the future."
Roy wanted to either purchase one later or find one in the Viridian Forest. He wanted to try finding one first to add to his Pokédex because buying one won't register.
His family was also feeding their Pokémon Pokeblocks. Days went by; his family bonded with their Pokémon and even battled each other. The day also came when they left Pallet Town for Viridian City.
Roy told them he would catch up, and that he needed to do a few things before leaving. In these days, Roy had completely signed in to every location within Pallet Town.
Roy acquired the Phantom Mask from the Black Market, five Empty Mega Stones from Professor Oak's lab, and four Mega Rings by signing in at Professor Oak's lab.
Roy talked to the people fixing the house afterward. They stated that the house would be fully renovated in 7 days, which was quite fast. The house was being completely renovated in every way possible.
Roy didn't plan to stay in Pallet that long and would be gone by then. He talked to a real estate agency about selling the house and its renovations. They wanted to check the set and determine the price of the house, but that was after its completion.
Roy was currently in his hotel; his time in Pallet Town was essentially done. His brothers and sister had left yesterday, which was his last sign-in for Pallet Town. Tonight would be the time for him to sign into a new location.
"The reward will be back to normal, and it will be rare if they appear in quantities. The Phantom mask is simply one of the best treasures I've ever seen."
Roy reviewed the items he received from his last three check-ins.
<𝐏𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐦 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐤: The individual has the capability to change their voice, body form, facial features, and Aura field. When this mask is donned, it provides the wearer with the power to become invisible. It allows the user to escape the notice and probing of psychic Pokémon, erase scent trails, and minimize sound.
<𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐠𝐚 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞: A Stone that can be manipulated according to the user's will. Upon manipulation, it will permanently transform into any existing Mega Stone.
Roy put the Phantom Mask on par with the Master Ball. This item was simply a top-grade treasure for many reasons.
"I can really mess around with this mask; this was how I was able to sign into Professor Oak's lab the last two times."
Roy had to change his appearance as those researchers were starting to get suspicious of him. He came back as an old man looking for Professor Oak, and then the second time as a little boy looking to get a starter Pokémon.
All of these identities were turned away because Oak wasn't present. Roy was in love with this Mask; he could even go invisible and more.
"This Mask is probably the best item I've received from the system." Roy simply loved this item and would never give it up.
Roy checked his lineup and saw that his Abra had grown to level 6. His Dratini was at level 2 and had grown considerably larger.
Roy planned to leave on his Journey today because he had already met the agency about the house.
"First, I need to head back to the docks and fight and capture some Pokémon. I should be able to capture a Tentacool and probably more."
Roy got up, left the hotel, and went to the docks again. Roy didn't waste his movement and sent the fishing line down into the water.
Roy's eyes scanned the water, his vision filled with aura and the things within it. He had seen many Magikarp, some Goldeen, Tentacool, and that was about it.
Roy waited until something bit at the line, but these Pokémon were only Magikarp. He simply tossed them back and waited for a new Pokémon to bite at the line.
After ten minutes, a Tentacool had taken the line and was pulled up by Roy. Tentacool spat Acid at Roy, but he had anticipated it and dodged. Roy already had Dratini on the ready for a fight.
Tentacool landed on land, using its two tentacles to stand up.
"Dratini, use Dragon Pulse, and follow up with an Extreme Speed!" Roy commanded. Dratini shot a Dark Blue Sphere from its mouth that tagged Tentacool hard, blowing it back. Dratini didn't let it off and activated Extreme Speed and slammed into it.
"Cooooool!" Tentacool let out a shrill scream and was sent flying several yards away. Afterwards, it didn't move, as it had clearly fainted from the onslaught of attacks.
Despite Dratini's level being lower than this level 4 Tentacool, Dratini was able to defeat it.
"Hehe!" Roy tossed a Pokéball and easily caught the Tentacool; it didn't even shake.
"Let's see if it registered to the system as a caught Pokémon." Roy wanted to confirm his theory.
"Sure enough, Pokémon need to be caught and couldn't be bought. They would still be registered to the Pokédex, but not the system quest panel. It seems I'll have to put in the work to actually capture Pokémon, which makes this even more fun."
Roy's Magikarp had an E++ Aptitude and was at level 7. However, E++ was decent to Roy, and he could elevate its talent later.
Roy saw that his Dratini had leveled up to 3 and was nearly level 4. It was a millimeter or so from leveling up again.
Roy went back to fishing again, but didn't catch duplicate Pokémon. After two hours of fishing and failing, he finally netted a Goldeen.

Dratini defeated it on land, which Goldeen couldn't fight properly on. Goldeen could at most launch itself forward to attack and nothing more.
Dratini jumped from level three to five, but was at the middle-high part of level five in terms of exp. Dratini also learned Twister at level five, which was a decent move for its level but still overall weak.
"I now have 5 Pokemon registered to the system: Rattata, Pidgey, Goldeen, Tentacool, and Magikarp."
Roy had a sign today, so he got up and went back to the hotel to check out. Roy had already given his sibling the TMs he wanted to give them and had taught his Pokemon the TMs he wanted to teach them.
"My team: Abra, level 7, after eating well, Magikarp, level 7, and Dratini, level 5." Roy had taught Abra Hidden Power Ground, Shadow Ball, Dazzling Gleam, and Energy Ball.
Roy packed everything up and left for Route 1. He planned to hunt for Bellsprout to add to his entry. Roy took one last look at Pallet Town before turning and continuing ahead.
