Chapter 222 - Chapter 222: Serperior’s Grassy Terrain

After the awards ceremony, Lee Bing immediately rode his Aegislash over to Lin Feng. "Having seen every match your Pokémon participated in, everyone is very curious. May I interview you on their behalf?"

Lin Feng thought for a moment, then nodded with a friendly smile. "Of course."

Lee Bing glanced at the Rotom he had, which had collected questions from the audience.

"First question. Some viewers think that since you have so many powerful Pokémon, you must have traveled a lot. How long have you been traveling?"

"Traveling?" Lin Feng shook his head. "Actually, I'm not a professional trainer. I'm a professional breeder with my own breeding house. Some people here probably already know me. My breeding house is in Wutong Town, Wutong City."

Having just won the championship, he figured he might as well give a little shout-out for his breeding house.

The audience reacted instantly.

Some spectators, unfamiliar with professional breeding houses, couldn't believe it.

A trainer this strong, and yet a breeder with a personal breeding house? Unthinkable.

A few who had some knowledge of it began spreading word on Lin Feng's behalf.

"You didn't know? Lin's a real breeder."

"My relatives in Wutong City brought me a Rare Candy from his breeding house. Even my picky Riolu couldn't resist it."

Seeing the audience getting excited, Lee Bing moved on. "Second question. Some viewers noticed you have a Serperior with you. Why didn't we see it battle?"

He knew the Serperior hadn't even reached one year of age yet.

Judging by its size, it was much larger than an average Serperior.

Three months ago, it had still been a Snivy.

The audience erupted even more.

Since the official matches began, Lin Feng had a Serperior by his side. Everyone had been waiting to see when it would be sent out. But by the end of the competition, it never appeared.

"Well…"

Lin Feng hesitated, slightly embarrassed. "That's… hard to explain."

"Oh? Why's that?" Lee Bing's curiosity deepened.

Before Lin Feng could respond, the audience erupted.

"Say it! Why didn't you send out Serperior? Do you know how long I've been watching it? Why does it have such a majestic, cold aura?"

"It's seriously cool!"

"Why didn't it battle?"

Lin Feng pondered and let out a small sigh. Then he released Serperior, letting it use Grassy Terrain on the arena floor.

The grass spread in an instant.

The previously ordinary battle field, which had allowed gym Pokémon to fight with ease, was now blanketed with lush grass in just a few breaths.

The energy of the Grass type surged visibly.

The entire field became alive with vibrant greenery.

The audience was speechless.

The grass shot up over a meter high.

Such a wide area, such concentrated Grass-type energy…

Another Pokémon on par with a Champion level, right?

And it was under a year old?

The audience was already stunned.

But the one most shocked was Lee Bing, standing next to Lin Feng.

His throat moved almost instinctively.

If they had mentally prepared after witnessing Breloom's earlier feats, this would have been easier to accept. But three months ago, this Serperior had still been a Snivy one that would have needed to evolve even to challenge a Dragonite.

And now… a Champion-level Pokémon?

Lee Bing didn't even know what question to ask.

The audience, after the initial shock, erupted in excitement.

"The breeding house? I want to go! I want to take my Pokémon too!"

"This is absurd. I can feel the Grass-type energy all the way from the stands!"

Even Champion Ji Yan, watching Serperior perform Grassy Terrain from above, couldn't hide his awe.

As expected, this Serperior was not what a beginner trainer would have.

This only made everyone more curious about Lin Feng's breeding house.

The audience's excitement far exceeded Lin Feng's expectations.

After answering a few more questions, he left the arena with the ecstatic Qin Shu.

"Three hundred thousand! The prize money is three hundred thousand!"

Qin Shu immediately checked her phone, counting the digits one by one. Her eyes sparkled.

It was the first time she had ever seen such a large sum.

"Jira?"

Jirachi hovered beside her, curious. "Jira?"

(Three hundred thousand… how many plushies could that buy?)

Although it understood money could buy things, it didn't grasp the value of such a sum.

Qin Shu laughed, holding her phone, realizing she probably wouldn't have to ask her parents for travel money this time.

Hearing Jirachi's question, she said, "Each plush costs one coin. You caught over a hundred times yesterday, got more than twenty plushies… so with three hundred thousand, you could get… you could get…"

"Sixty thousand…" Lin Feng exhaled deeply from the side.

"Yes, sixty thousand!"

"Whoa…" Jirachi's eyes lit up. It couldn't imagine such an enormous sum. "Jira?" (Then… with your million, Brother Feng, you could buy even more plushies?)

Jirachi's eyes sparkled even brighter at Lin Feng.

Lin Feng: "…"

Do you want to bury me under plushies?

"No, no, not the same thing~"

Qin Shu giggled. "Brother Feng is rich. He can raise so many Pokémon. I've never seen this much money before."

"Alright, alright. Let's not talk about it now. We should head back. Where are your parents?"

"We left early today. They said they didn't want to trouble you." Qin Shu pursed her lips.

Though she understood her parents' feelings, she couldn't help thinking, We agreed yesterday we'd go together…

Lin Feng nodded. "And you? Will you spend a few days with them?"

"Yes, yes~"

Though she still had minor complaints, family reunion came first.

She wanted to introduce her parents to Shiny Meow, Wartortle, and Jirachi.

And Mime Jr., the Pokémon that had accompanied her growing up now that her mother had a rare day off, she wanted to properly greet it.

Without further delay, Lin Feng called a taxi to a spacious area outside the city.

Once there, he summoned Dragonite and flew toward his breeding house.

Thus ended the two-and-a-half-day Youth Cup, more like a recreational adventure.

But Lin Feng knew the real work would begin after the Youth Cup.
