Chapter 231 - CHAPTER-231

Onigumo was the first to lose his composure, his face twisting in shock.

They had witnessed Blackbeard and Doflamingo's betrayal live through the transponder snail broadcast.

But after the Whitebeard Pirates' surprise assault cut the feed, they had no idea what happened next.

Now, seeing Blackbeard suddenly appear with a group of prisoners—

It shattered their expectations.

If their suspicions were correct and the second battlefield had truly fallen…

Then Marineford was on the brink of a nightmare.

Whitebeard alone had already pushed them to their limits. If Kaido joined the fray…

Would Marineford even survive this war?

"Teach, you bastard!"

Whitebeard roared, gripping his naginata and slashing straight at Blackbeard.

Blackbeard's grin froze.

He had expected Whitebeard to use his Devil Fruit powers, giving him an opening to strike.

He never imagined Whitebeard would attack so directly.

Caught off guard, he could only raise his arms in a hasty defense.

"Dark Vortex!"

BOOM!

Blackbeard was sent flying.

Catarina Devon and the others behind him were also blasted away by the fierce Haki shockwave.

The stunned Marines snapped back to their senses.

Sengoku crushed a stone in his hand and roared:

"Blackbeard! What happened at Impel Down? Why are you here? Where is Luo Yu? Answer me, or I'll kill you myself!"

Blackbeard staggered to his feet, his expression shifting before he chuckled:

"He's still fighting Kaido, of course. I'm not like Doflamingo—I didn't bet everything on Kaido. I took a warship and slipped through the current at the Gates of Justice to get here."

"You didn't see the rest of the broadcast, but I did."

"That brat's strong, sure. His trump cards are insane. But Kaido took them all."

"I didn't see the end, but I'd wager he's barely hanging on."

Barely hanging on?

Sengoku's face darkened.

A Marine officer rushed over:

"Fleet Admiral Sengoku! The Sun Pirates are arriving with a group of prisoners—including former Warlord Crocodile!"

The battlefield fell silent.

If Blackbeard's words had been speculation…

This report confirmed it.

Even Blackbeard's face lit up with glee.

"Haha! See, Fleet Admiral? That brat couldn't handle Kaido either!"

"Everyone! Now's the time—help me take down Whitebeard! I'm claiming the Tremor-Tremor Fruit!"

Blackbeard charged first.

Catarina Devon and Shiryu exchanged glances, then nodded with grim resolve.

They launched themselves at Whitebeard without hesitation.

Sengoku roared:

"Tsuru! Go find out what happened at Impel Down!"

"Akainu! Keep Whitebeard busy—I'll crush Blackbeard myself!"

He transformed into his Buddha form and charged like a juggernaut toward Blackbeard's crew.

Akainu's face darkened. He didn't fully understand the situation—

But he couldn't let his hard-earned victory slip away.

He unleashed a torrent of magma and lunged at Whitebeard.

Far off, Vice Admiral Tsuru, who had been coordinating the battlefield, heard Sengoku's command.

She handed off command to her aide and turned to investigate Impel Down.

But before she could take more than a few steps—

A news ship swooped down from the sky, drawing everyone's attention.

"Extra! Extra! Why isn't Admiral Luo Yu here?"

At the bow stood Big News Morgans, shouting through a transponder snail loudspeaker.

But as he took in the chaos below, his expression faltered.

Everyone froze, even mid-battle.

Morgans was supposed to be near Impel Down, broadcasting the second battlefield.

His sudden appearance here—did that mean the battle was over?

Blackbeard paused, then burst into laughter:

"Haha! So the second battlefield's over! Morgans must be here to confirm whether that arrogant brat fled back here!"

"Well, I've got bad news for you—he didn't make it out alive!"

Blackbeard, who had suffered at Luo Yu's hands multiple times, had fled early with his crew.

But he still feared Luo Yu deep down.

If Kaido had truly killed him—

That would be one less nightmare to worry about.

But just as he finished speaking, Catarina nudged him.

"Captain… doesn't his expression look like he's staring at an idiot?"

Staring at an idiot?

Blackbeard blinked and looked up at Morgans.

Their eyes met.

And he felt it—that unmistakable look of disdain.

"Blackbeard Teach, what nonsense are you spouting?"

Morgans scoffed.

"You ran off with Crocodile the moment the battle started. You've got no right to comment on Admiral Luo Yu."

He scanned the battlefield, then frowned.

"Wait… you really don't know what happened at the second battlefield?"

"In that case, let me break the news again!"

Everyone tensed.

Morgans' tone was too strange.

A wild thought flashed through their minds.

Before anyone could speak, Morgans' voice boomed again:

"Extra! Extra! In the Summit War's second battlefield—Impel Down—Marine Admiral Luo Yu fought Yonko Kaido of the Beasts… and the winner is Admiral Luo Yu!"

Admiral Luo Yu… won?

The battlefield fell into stunned silence.

Everyone froze.

The absurd thought that had just crossed their minds—

Now became an unbelievable reality.

They had imagined many outcomes when the Navy declared war on the Four Emperors.

But none of them had expected Kaido—one of the strongest beings alive—to fall so suddenly.
