"Alright..."
Diao, slightly embarrassed, looked down and avoided Li Ang's gaze, repeatedly making small, high-frequency motions to pound the medicine, producing a series of muffled sounds from the small mortar.
A few seconds later, she entered a state of immersion, her hands moving more steadily, no longer affected by Li Ang's attention.
The crushed herbs were processed with an extraction, then heated over fire in the crucible, with dried additional ingredients and harmonizing supplements added. She used honey, a common and easily accessible neutral material, and soon the mixture in the crucible formed a mass, seemingly ready to be molded into pills for the finished product.
However, after turning off the heat, Diao took out a container resembling a gourd, made from a hollowed fruit, and poured its liquid into the crucible.
Suddenly, the turbid liquid flowed in, melting the waxy medicine, turning into a dirty, sticky medicinal soup.
