Farrell's body jolted violently when he heard Raymond's final self-introduction, and his face suddenly changed.
Thinking of the recent serial murders targeting Hymn Company, his voice trembled slightly, despite his usual confidence bordering on arrogance.
"Raymond, this joke isn't funny."
Raymond looked at Farrell with a half-smile, "Smart Manager Farrell, you should know I am not joking."
This answer shattered Farrell's defenses.
He could accept being outmaneuvered by other managers and could accept falling on the way upward, but he couldn't accept dying at the hands of an inexplicable assassin.
"Raymond, are you crazy? Why target Hymn Company instead of working as Moritz's assistant?"
Raymond moved a chair and placed it opposite Farrell, then sat down, speaking calmly;
"Because I'm a resident of Sid Town, is that reason enough?"
