Hokage Office.
"Danzō, what did you call me here for?"
Renya followed Sarutobi Hiruzen, whose face had been dark the entire way, into the office.
He had been peacefully sunbathing at home, only to be dragged over by Hiruzen.
"Take a look." Shimura Danzō tossed the documents on the desk to Renya.
Renya took the file and began reading, murmuring softly.
"Has war broken out again?"
But this Second Shinobi World War didn't seem to involve Konohagakure.
It was purely a battle among the Water, Earth, Lightning, and Rain countries.
Wait—Salamander Hanzō actually wasn't dead!
He hadn't heard any news about him in years and thought the guy had died long ago.
Though that time was probably coming soon.
The Land of Rain wasn't a match for three great nations; defeat was only a matter of time.
When that happened, Salamander Hanzō would almost certainly die on the battlefield.
"Do you intend to participate in this war?"
Finishing the report, Renya looked at Shimura Danzō across from him.
Given this guy's character, he would definitely want to get involved to showcase Konoha's strength.
Renya himself didn't really care.
Konoha's current power far surpassed the other villages; fighting or not made little difference.
It all depended on Danzō's decision.
Facing Renya's questioning gaze, Shimura Danzō didn't answer immediately. Instead, he asked back:
"Do you think I should join this war?"
Sarutobi Hiruzen: "???"
This bastard Danzō—now he wants to discuss things with people?!
He definitely wasn't acting like this earlier in the office!
He felt the stark contrast in Danzō's treatment and almost spat blood from anger.
He never imagined the difference between people could be so huge.
Toward himself: Enough! Hiruzen, I'm the Hokage here!
Toward Renya: Do you think I should join this war?
Double standards—utterly blatant double standards.
The two speaking didn't notice a certain someone's face turning red with fury.
"Up to you. I'm fine either way." Renya spread his hands casually.
Same as always—Konoha's current power was overwhelming; whether they fought or not, their strength was already evident.
Otherwise, why didn't the three great nations choose to attack Konoha?
Was it because they didn't want to?
Shimura Danzō nodded. "Alright, I understand."
"Danzō, I advise you to calm down. We don't need to involve ourselves in this war."
Sarutobi Hiruzen offered his suggestion at the right moment.
"We are joining this war!" Shimura Danzō turned to Renya. "You will sit in command on the battlefield. I'll have the Nara clan head serve as the commander to assist you!"
"Danzō, did you even hear what I said?" Sarutobi Hiruzen asked, face darkening.
"Almost forgot about you. Your Sarutobi clan is also going to the battlefield."
Sarutobi Hiruzen: "…"
He really felt like this guy was targeting him on purpose.
Was this what power felt like?
"Renya, if you have nothing else, you may go home." Shimura Danzō said.
He still had to summon the various clan heads to discuss wartime strategies; having Renya stay in the office was pointless.
Better to let him go home and sunbathe.
Hearing this, Renya turned around and left without a word.
He could finally go home and sunbathe.
As one grew older, getting frequent sunlight was good.
Only by maintaining one's health early could one live longer.
Some people only realized the importance of wellness at fifty or sixty—by then it was too late.
Best to start young!
Renya had basically been living a retirement lifestyle since his teens.
Now at thirty-three, he still felt full of vitality.
Living to ninety-nine wouldn't be a problem at all.
Senju Tobirama Residence.
"Kid, where did you just go?"
Senju Tobirama ended his morning experiment and returned to find that Renya wasn't home.
"Danzō plans to join the war."
Renya briefly recounted what happened in the Hokage Office.
Senju Tobirama didn't react much upon hearing it.
He felt that Danzō's decision wasn't wrong. War was indeed the best way to demonstrate strength.
Konohagakure was at its peak; it needed a battle to prove its power.
"Kid, has Madara contacted you secretly over these years?"
Senju Tobirama narrowed his eyes, staring intensely at Renya.
He always suspected that Madara was secretly reaching out to this kid, and he absolutely couldn't allow the evil Uchiha Madara to lure him away.
"No." Renya answered honestly.
For some reason, Grandpa Madara really hadn't contacted him.
The key issue was that he couldn't find Grandpa Madara even if he wanted to.
Fat Cat refused to tell him the exact location, and trying to find someone in the shinobi world was like searching for a needle in a haystack.
Senju Tobirama stared at Renya for a long time, seeing no signs of lying.
"If Madara contacts you, you must tell me immediately."
The inherently evil Uchiha Madara—don't even think about luring Renya away from his side!
"Got it." Renya said helplessly.
Seems this old man really hated Grandpa Madara from the bottom of his heart.
Luckily, the two hadn't met back in the Land of Iron.
Otherwise, they would've fought for sure.
Senju Tobirama nodded with satisfaction at Renya's response and turned into the study.
Renya had just prepared to lie down and sunbathe again when a white face suddenly emerged from the ground.
Wasn't that White Zetsu?
White Zetsu blinked at him, raised a hand, and gestured for silence.
Then he pulled out a slip of paper from his body and silently sank back underground.
Renya instinctively glanced toward the study. Seeing no movement inside, he cautiously unfolded the paper.
The content was simple.
[Kid, I have awakened the Rinnegan. Come quickly!]
After that was the detailed location.
After reading it, he quickly tucked the note into his clothes.
The fear of being discovered by Senju Tobirama made his heart race—so tense, so exciting!
He couldn't help feeling thrilled.
Grandpa Madara had finally awakened the Rinnegan.
Didn't this mean that in a few years he could inherit the estate?
Tsk tsk, the Rinnegan!
Besides, Grandpa Madara was old and couldn't use the Rinnegan's power anyway.
Might as well hand the eyes over to him and just put in a pair of three-tomoe Sharingan for daily use.
Return to the village to retire—no need to fight.
Why have such high-spec eyes then?
That aging body couldn't handle the power anyway.
Any low-spec pair would be enough—as long as he could see the road clearly.
Deep underground, Grandpa Madara had no idea that someone was already eyeing his eyes.
"Kid, what are you giggling about?"
In the study, Senju Tobirama heard noise in the courtyard. He opened the door and saw Renya grinning like a fool.
"Cough, nothing. I just thought of something happy."
Renya snapped out of his excitement and quickly wiped the drool from the corner of his mouth.
"Better be nothing."
Senju Tobirama felt like this kid was hiding something, but he didn't know what to ask.
He simply snorted coldly and shut the study door again.
Renya didn't leave immediately but lay back on the chair.
Silently thinking about inheriting Grandpa Madara's estate.
