Chapter 8 - Awakening ceremony (ii) Three beast elements!

Adrian and Marcus were being watched like hawks, but they weren't really bothered. To them all of this didn't really matter all they came here for was to awaken their elements and they would be out of here.

Of course this was not the only way to awaken your element affinity and there was another way albeit dangerous, there was still another way.

The other way to awaken your element affinity was the use of beast cores and absorbing some of its energy after killing the beasts , but there was a high risk of the mortal body not being able to contain that much energy and the body explodes leading to death.

So that's was why this method was not used .

Standing closer to Lucas and Adrian were the trio from the gate – Lucan, Thane, and Simon. They stood with an air of confidence, their postures relaxed yet imposing as they gazed out at the crowd. Lucas and Adrian flanked them, forming a protective barrier, their eyes scanning the surroundings with a mix of curiosity and caution.

The crowd's eyes widened in shock, whispers spreading like wildfire as they gazed at the trio. "They're from a hidden clan, no doubt," someone murmured. "Must be from one of those secret mountain villages," another voice chimed in. The speculation grew, with some even suggesting they were descendants of ancient warriors.

A towering figure, cloaked in shadows, approached the crystal with an air of confidence. As his hand made contact, the crystal pulsed with a deep, molten glow. The crowd gasped – Lava, the rare sixth element, was a force to be reckoned with. The trio from the gate exchanged a fleeting glance, intrigue etched on their faces.

Lucan's eyes sparkled with amusement as he murmured to Thane and Simon, "I think it's about time we go and awaken our elements. That was the last person not from the seven great clans to awaken, apart from those two." He nodded discreetly towards Adrian and Marcus, who were watching with interest. Simon, grinned mischievously and whispered back, "Yeah, I think it's about time this one-in-a-billion-years genius goes and shows his talent." He waggled his eyebrows and began to move towards the awakening crystal, his massive frame swaying slightly as he walked. Thane snorted, rolling his eyes. "Once in a billion years genius, my foot. The only thing you know how to do is eat and sleep, I'm sure your elements will be eating and sleeping elements." Lucan chuckled, trying to stifle a laugh as Simon flipped him the middle finger without looking back.

Elder Mo's voice was like a crack of thunder, commanding attention. Simon, with a hint of swagger, placed his hand on the crystal. The moment his skin made contact, the crystal began to glow with an eerie red light, like molten lava coursing through its veins. The energy pulsed, flowing into Simon's body, making his eyes flash red for a split second. As the energy surged, a phantom – a massive, shadowy beast with glowing red eyes – materialized behind Simon. The crowd gasped, scrambling to understand what they were seeing. The beast's presence was primal, making the air thick with unease. Simon's grin faltered for a moment, but he stood tall, his eyes gleaming with a mix of excitement and intensity.

The crowd erupted into hushed whispers, shock and speculation written across their faces. "Not from the Divine Beast Clan?" someone murmured. "Impossible! The Beast Element's awakening is nearly unheard of outside the clan..." Another voice chimed in, "But he's not displaying the clan's mark..." The murmurs grew, with some daring to suggest, "Bastard son, maybe? Could explain why he's not with them..." Others shook their heads, "No, no... wouldn't be possible. The Beast Element doesn't work like that... does it?" The speculation hung in the air, a tangled web of theories and doubts.

Elder Mo's eyes widened, betraying his usual composed demeanor. He stared at Simon, his gaze piercing, as if searching for answers. For a fleeting moment, surprise – even shock – flickered across his face. Then, with a subtle blink, he reined in his emotions, his expression smoothing into a mask of calm. "Beast Element," Elder Mo declared, his voice steady, though a hint of curiosity still lingered. The crowd quieted, sensing the elder's words were a cue, but their whispers would wait – they too wanted to see what Simon, and his eerie red energy, would do next.

Lucan and Thane, side by side, placed their hands on the crystal. Elder Mo's voice was a distant echo, "Place your hands on the crystal..." and then it happened – blood-red energy surged into both guys, like twin conduits channeling raw power. Red phantoms of beasts materialized behind them, adding to the eerie trio. The crowd's whispers turned frantic, "Not from the Divine Beast Clan... how?!" Some were saying, "The Beast Element... three of them? Unheard of!" Elder Mo's expression was a mask, but his eyes betrayed a flicker of intrigue.

After some time, the crowd and Elder Mo settled from their shock, the air thick with anticipation. Elder Mo's voice thundered across the arena, "Next!" The words echoed through the space, and from the gathered groups, people from the Slade clan (Heavenly Golden Body Clan) stirred. Damian Slade, Lucien Slade, and Cassian Slade, clad in the trademark golden robes with a golden gorilla stitch pattern on them, walked forward towards the awakening crystal, their steps measured, faces set with a mix of nerves and resolve. The crowd's gaze narrowed in on them, wondering what elements these three would awaken to.

"This is where the real show begins," someone from the crowd spectating the ceremony said, a hint of excitement in their voice. "The seven great clans and those two from the mountains are about to awaken. This will be a show I do not want to miss."

"What do you mean the real show is about to begin? The show began when the three awaken the same element, and from the looks of it, they are friends," another voice chimed in.

"True." The people in the crowd couldn't help but agree with the second speaker, their whispers spreading like wildfire as they anticipated the unfolding drama.
