Even though it was spring everywhere else, on this one particular hill, it was snowing.
"Wenny! Even if that somehow worked it isn't guaranteed."
Wenny holding a tray of snacks with a teapot and cups, slowly put them on the table.
"Plus you cannot hold [key], it's a death sentence!" Mim looking at silent Wenny preparing to pour tea on her cup gets annoyed.
"I'm worrying about your life but you're more concerned about a damn tea!"
Turning my gaze towards her. "Don't stress over it, I know you have a kind nature, but it's something I cannot avoid doing." Wenny pointed in the direction.
"Ah, my bad I should have been more careful. So anyway where is William?"
"3, 2, 1 here he comes." As he finished saying the portal opened near them.
William covered in blood calmly walked out.
"Oh, mom you came?," wiping out the blood William smiled sheepishly. "Don't worry I'm not hurt."
Wenny gestured for him to come and sit.
As William was getting ready to sit Mim glared at him. "Don't you have any manners? At least get cleaned then sit!"
William ashamed quickly swiped something. His body becomes clean in an instant.
Seeing this Mim glare shifted to Wenny instead. "What kind of magic did you teach this time?!"
Wenny knowing his been caught couldn't even laugh before getting smacked by Mim.
"Teaching him magic is my job!" Mim conjured a cast-iron pan out of thin air and brought it down on Wenny's head with a clang. "That's our bonding time! How dare you steal it!"
Wenny's head was now buried in the snow, but his hand shot up from beneath the ground, thumb raised in surrender.
Wenny slowly pulled his head out of the ground like it was the most normal thing in the world. "Well Will, how was your mission?"
But William didn't speak his shocked eyes on Wenny.
Mim seeing his shocked face laughed. "Oh, you're confused he doesn't have a face?"
Wenny understood her words, pulling out another white full mask to cover his mask.
Mim continued with her explanation. "This ugly guy hid his face with restriction magic, so unless he personally shows them nobody can see it. Well I have seen it multiple times."
She nonchalantly takes a sip of the tea, before getting pissed off. "Hey this is also a failure!"
Wenny took a sip. His shoulders slumped. Without a word, he simply tipped over and rolled down the snowy hill.
"Wenny this is your seven thousand five hundred thirty four attempt! At least do something decent!"
William slowly tasted the tea. It had a rich aroma, with a thick earthly taste. 'Kinda reminds me of green tea.'
"Sigh... The smell faintly reminds me of spring but the taste isn't even close!"
Suddenly, a portal opened beside them. Another Wenny stepped out, looking at the spot where the first had rolled away. "Apologies, It appears he has taken his life."
A second portal opened beneath the unconscious Wenny, swallowing him whole. The new Wenny sat down as if nothing had happened.
"Huh?" William more confused looked at mim.
Mim understanding his confusion started her explanation... Again. "This Wenny is a paradoxical being. It's almost impossible to kill him properly."
William looking at Wenny. "But doesn't that mean this version shouldn't know us?"
Mim shake his head. "Wenny's main body is somewhere hidden, think of him as a hivemind."
"Oh, that makes it less confusing." William stopped questioning and started eating the snack with the tea.
"Mim and William after you're done. I need both of you to help me with a task," Wenny sat down but didn't touch the tea. "Mim you'll be helping Will and I'll be busy with someone."
Hearing that mim spilled her tea. "Are you saying while we both work, you will just sit back and relax?"
Wenny looked dead into her eyes. "Yes."
After finishing their tea wenny opened a portal to somewhere.
Once everyone entered, the other side turned into a massive palace in the sky. At the center of it was a man sitting on the throne.
Wenny opened another portal. "Mim why don't you teach him while both of you slay the demon king."
"I'm only doing this because I'll have more time with Will!" She leaves the palace with William.
"How dare you intrude this gods domain!" The man stood up, shouting in anger.
"Are you done?," Wenny cracks his knuckles. "Your [creator] has already left you, just hand over the [key]."
"Ah, now I recognize you! [Wenny]. The pitiful, broken fragment even your own [creator] couldn't be bothered to finish!" God's laughter echoed through the hall. "And you think you can defeat me?"
Wenny's voice full of irritation put his hands up as if ready to fight.
Seeing the serious Wenny, he started to laugh more. "You shithead do you think you can fight me in my world?" The god-like being started levitating into the air.
His face is full of mockery as he looks down on Wenny. Putting his arm in front of his mouth, with a gentle blow the whole ground Wenny was standing was destroyed.
"Hmph without your [creator] you're more harmless than a water flee!" Being laughed at the air.
"You forgot, I'm a venomous cockroach right?" A portal after portal multiple Wenny's came out. Soon the dome of 30 km was filled with thousands of Wenny's.
All speaking in unison. "I will achieve that [key] no matter what!"
Mim and William teleported in front of a large tree. People the size of eight inches (250cm) with long pointy ears.
"These are elves?" William was astonished by his first time seeing elf tribes.
"Don't worry I'll talk to them I know elf language very well." Mim walked towards the elf man who was ready to run but after hearing mim speak in his language he happily continued the conversation.
After a few minutes the both separated mim walked towards William. "Looks like these elves support the demon king. This demon king protects them from humans and even is fighting against humans."
Before taking a big sigh. "That Wenny gave us an annoying task."
