The room froze momentarily at Joel's word.
"What did you just say?" Jasper's stony gaze shifted to his father, his muscles turning rigid.
"You heard me." Joel spat between gritted teeth. "It's either you put a leash on that animal or I will feed him to the alligators."
Prince, who seemed to perceive every threat in Joel's syllabus, let out a deep, violent growl, a sound that made the chandelier in the room tremble again. His muscles tensed once more, but Hiraya was quick to pacify the enraged tiger, giving father and son their brief moment of conflict.
"Don't, Father" Jasper's ice-cold voice was deadly quiet. "Don't you dare threaten him ever in my presence. I may have overlooked your mistake in the past. But never again."
Joel recoiled slightly for a brief moment, knowing how lethal and dangerous Jasper was when triggered.
