The high command of Carriha watched as the Imperial Army outside their walls shrank, and they heard reports that they had many deserters leave their army. Their scouts now reported that the Gaileo Army was now at less than half its original number.
"It's just as you predicted my daughter. The Imperial forces continue to dwindle. We should ride our men out to crush what little bit of them that remain and end this war." The King said.
"No, that is unnecessary. It is also unwise. Attacking a wounded animal can cause it to only grow more dangerous." Samira explained. "We will wait for them to attack and then crush them."
"Are you certain that they will still attack? Considering the tattered state of their forces, would it not be wise for them to simply retreat their army?" One official asked.
"Certainly you are right. Their best option would be to simply retreat, but their commander is that second prince. He's a brash and hot headed man who would never back down from a fight. He will attack no matter how desperate his situation is." Samira told them.
As Samira predicted, Gaileo prepared his men for an assault on the city. "Sir, how are we going to assault the city if we can't breach the walls?" Captain Aimaru asked.
"I'll handle that, you just get the men ready." Gaileo replied.
The Imperial forces that remained staged themselves to prepare for the assault. Gaileo himself took position in front of the walls.
"Everyone, get ready to charge at my signal." Gaileo ordered.
"Fist of the Howling Winds!!!!"
Gaileo's attack ripped through the wall and punched a massive hole in it. As the wall started to repair itself, Gaileo repeated his attack. He did this over and over again in an effort to make a secure breach into the city.
"Fist of the Howling Winds!!!!"
"Fist of the Howling Winds!!!!"
"Fist of the Howling Winds!!!!"
"That's incredible that he can punch through the wall like that, but why didn't we just do this from the start?" Benji asked.
"I can't be sure, but a technique this powerful must be incredibly taxing on his body. I'd assume that he must be pushing himself to his limits to be able to do this." Ma Ten said.
As Ma Ten suspected, Gaileo was breathing heavily after unleashing his attack. Though this didn't stop him from continuing to break through the wall.
"Fist of the Howling Winds!!!!"
Meanwhile, the Imperial troops continued to pour through the breach he had made. However, the Carrihan forces were prepared to surround them as they entered the city. It seemed as if the Imperial forces would be encircled and crushed immediately.
"Kazu! Just this once, you can use your ability! Hurry and do it now!" Gaileo shouted from outside the walls.
"Really? I get to use my ability? Yay! It's been too long since I've been allowed to use it!" Kazuma said excitedly.
"Candy Rain!!!!!"
"Candy Rain? What kind of ability does he have?" Ma Ten asked.
"I have no idea, but I know that Gai has always stopped Kazuma from using his special ability. Though, I have to say that I don't understand why." Benji answered.
Suddenly lollipops started to fall from the sky. "Huh? All he did was make lollipops fall from the sky? What's that supposed to do?" One of the Carrihan soldiers asked as he laughed as he saw the silhouettes of the candy in the sky.
"Yeah but, doesn't it seem like it's taking too long to fall?" Another soldier asked.
The candy in the sky only looked small because it was so high in the sky. As it got closer the Carrihan soldiers all could see that Kazuma's attack was no laughing matter.
The lollipops that were falling were actually the size of meteors and completely devastated the Carrihan defensive positions.
Much is still unknown about the nature of Kazuma's ability, but there are two things that are known about it. The first is that he seems to have the ability to manipulate candy at will. The second is that, for some inexplicable reason, his power is absolutely devastating.
As the Carrihan troops were out of position from Kazuma's barrage, the Imperial forces made their way into the city and finally Gaileo entered the city as well. Even though he was exhausted from his efforts to breach the walls he still rode through the enemy and crushed any man the stood in front of him. Meanwhile, Kazuma continued to pummel the enemy with his technique.
"Are these guys really human? Is this what it means to face two Imperial Princes in battle?" Samira thought to herself.
"This is ridiculous! How could these Imperial dogs make it into our city? These walls have never been breached! How could this happen?" The King asked in a panic.
"Calm down father." Samira said as she regained her own composure. "I admit that I never expected them to make it this far into the city, and I certainly didn't expect them to cause so many casualties. However, we still have the upper hand. They are exhausted and depleted and they are hopelessly out numbered and surrounded. They are still certain to be defeated by us here."
The Gaileo Army was surrounded and outnumbered more than 10 to 1. The Carrihan crossbowmen were starting to inflict casualties on the Imperial soldiers at an increasingly high rate. It seemed that the Imperial Army was right back in the same desperate situation that it had been in to start with. This war had truly been won before it had even started. It was a war won through intelligence.
"We have them right where we want them. Now finish them off." Samira said giving the order.
"Funny, you took the words right out of my mouth." A voice from behind Samira said.
Rather, it was a war that was won through the manipulation of intelligence.
