Chapter 442 - Chapter 441: Fire Spirit Clan

The Fire Spirit Clan was located in the southwestern region of the Great Thousand World, standing atop the vast Fire Spirit Continent. As one of the renowned super clans within the Great Thousand World, the Fire Spirit Continent might not rival the so-called Ten Great Super Continents in size, but its scope was still immense. While it didn't match the status of the Five Ancient Clans, there were very few who dared provoke this formidable lineage.

Unlike the Ice Spirit Clan, whose power had long since waned, the Fire Spirit Clan had remained at the height of its strength to this day. The core reason for this resilience lay in the existence of an ancestor who had been in seclusion for tens of thousands of years—an expert who had stepped into the Heavenly Sovereign realm long ago. Since then, the clan had produced multiple supreme powerhouses, establishing their fearsome reputation even in a world where myriad races coexisted.

Possibly due to their innate affinity for cultivating fire-elemental spiritual energy, the entire Fire Spirit Continent had been transformed into a volcanic landmass, perfectly suited for fire cultivators. The searing energy waves emanating from this land were no less intense than those from the Burning Heaven Mountain Range. The only difference was that there wasn't a singular, titanic volcano dominating the continent like the one found on the Burning Heaven Mountain.

However, on this particular day, an unprecedented and terrifying pressure engulfed the sky above the Fire Spirit Continent. The aura bore down like a primordial dragon, making every creature on the continent instinctively tremble in fear. And yet, this overwhelming might originated from none other than a seemingly youthful black-haired figure—appearing no older than twenty.

"Who are you, and why have you come here?" The pressure was so intense that even the Fire Spirit Clan's Patriarch, a powerful Heavenly Sovereign in the later stages of the Spiritual-grade, felt his heart jolt. He emerged personally to confront the intruder, bringing along several of the clan's Supreme Elders—each of whom was likewise a Heavenly Sovereign—just in case the youth harbored hostile intentions.

Though the black-haired young man's demeanor appeared courteous and without aggression, the Patriarch could clearly sense the terrifying pressure radiating from his body. Despite his own status as a Spiritual-grade Late-stage Heavenly Sovereign, he still felt suppressed, as if he were facing a mountain. This alone confirmed that the youth was, at minimum, an Immortal-grade Heavenly Sovereign!

'How can there be such a young Immortal-grade Heavenly Sovereign in the Great Thousand World? Have the ancient clans begun producing monsters again?' he wondered in shock.

"I am Xiao Yan, the Flame Emperor of the Endless Fire Domain. I have recently entered the Great Thousand World and wish to make my name known. I came to the Fire Spirit Clan specifically to seek a contest in fire control," the youth declared calmly, his expression relaxed and confident. Despite the intimidating formation before him, he showed not the slightest trace of fear.

"Flame Emperor Xiao Yan?" Several of the elders stiffened at the name. They were unfamiliar with the 'Endless Fire Domain,' but the title 'Flame Emperor' rang alarm bells. Among the Extraterritorial Evil Race, those at the rank of Demon Kings often bore similar titles, leading them to question: Could this youth be one of those beings?

"No... he doesn't carry the aura of the Evil Race." One of the more senior Supreme Elders shook his head, dismissing the speculation. He had fought the Extraterritorial Evil Race before and recognized their distinct malevolent energy. The black-haired youth radiated none of it.

"Even if he's not from the Evil Race, that doesn't mean he can act so brazenly on our land! I say we drive him away immediately!" one hot-tempered elder growled.

"Hmph. If he's truly an Immortal-grade Heavenly Sovereign, who among you can drive him away besides the Ancestor?" the Patriarch snapped coldly, silencing them.

"..."

"Since he's come seeking a match, then let's give him one. What's the harm in accepting his challenge?" A faint smile curled the Patriarch's lips, pride glimmering in his eyes. The Fire Spirit Clan was famed across the Great Thousand World for its mastery of fire control. If the youth thought superior cultivation alone would ensure victory, then he was sorely mistaken.

"Hold on," Xiao Yan interjected, "a simple match seems a bit dull. Why don't we make this more interesting?"

The Patriarch narrowed his eyes. "What do you propose?"

"We compete in a fire duel. If your clan loses, you'll hand over your clan's guardian flame to me," Xiao Yan replied with a faint smile.

The expressions of the Fire Spirit Clan elders darkened instantly.

"So that's what you're after…" the Patriarch sneered. "A gamble, is it? And what if you lose?"

"If I lose," Xiao Yan said as he raised his hand, "then I'll gift your clan this flame."

With a flick of his palm, a crimson flame ignited—its intensity so potent that the very air warped and space twisted around it. At its emergence, every elder present turned pale.

"That's... the Blazing Heaven Spirit Flame?!"

Their voices trembled with disbelief. The Blazing Heaven Spirit Flame had a fearsome reputation in the Great Thousand World, its power exceeding even their own guardian flame. Over the years, many elites had searched for it, including some from the Fire Spirit Clan. None had succeeded.

Now, it blazed freely in the hand of this mysterious Flame Emperor.

The Patriarch, who had been on the verge of rejecting Xiao Yan's proposal outright, paused. The temptation was undeniable. If the Fire Spirit Clan could obtain the Blazing Heaven Spirit Flame, their strength would soar to new heights.

Of course, he wasn't naïve. Had Xiao Yan not been an Immortal-grade Heavenly Sovereign—far stronger than any of them—they might've attempted to seize the flame by force. But such recklessness would only court destruction.

After a brief internal struggle, the Patriarch gritted his teeth and responded, "Very well. I accept your wager!"

In his mind, he still had faith in the Fire Spirit Clan's legendary flame control techniques. No matter how strong the boy was, when it came to fire manipulation, the Fire Spirit Clan feared no one in the Great Thousand World!
