Chapter 387A: For Hogwarts! Fight!
Norberta flapped her massive wings and landed beside Harry.
Dudley leapt from her back and rushed to Harry's side.
"Rennervate!" He spoke the incantation sharply.
Harry's eyelashes fluttered, and then his eyes slowly opened.
His green eyes scanned the surroundings, still unfocused.
"Du… Dudley."
Finally, recognition returned. Harry saw Dudley before him.
"Dementors… so many dementors!"
He rolled upright, exclaiming in alarm.
"I know. We're fighting dementors. Are you coming with us?"
Dudley asked immediately.
Harry was still disoriented, but the next instant, he saw the Norwegian Ridgeback up close, the flames bursting across the sky, and the dementors roaming everywhere.
"All right."
He hurriedly stood, forcing down his fear.
Every time he faced a dementor, memories of the worst moments came back—the scene of his parents' deaths.
It was a nightmare carved into his soul, impossible to erase.
Even as a child with nearly no memory, the imprint remained: his mother's screams, the green Killing Curse, everything happening before his eyes, and his helplessness as he sank into darkness.
"Harry, can your body take it?"
Dudley asked.
Harry was in no ideal condition, but this was an opportunity—a chance to confront the psychological shadow he carried.
If he could face hundreds of dementors, raise his wand, and fight them bravely, next time he wouldn't faint.
"No problem. I'll overcome it!"
Harry understood Dudley's intention, and he had no thought of retreat.
"All right. Take your broom and follow me."
Harry did not hesitate. He grabbed the flying broom nearby.
Dudley was already mounted on Norberta's back.
"Come!"
He extended his hand to Harry.
Harry sprinted, grabbed Dudley's hand, and whoosh!
The moment he landed on Norberta's back, a tremendous force surged through him, and he shot upward into the sky at incredible speed.
"Hold on! Don't fall! Look for an opportunity to use the flame spell I taught you on those dementors."
Dudley shouted.
The rain pounded around them; Harry could not speak, only nodded.
At the same time, Dudley directed Norberta toward the densest cluster of dementors.
"Fiendfyre, burn the sky."
Boom!
The terrifying Fiendfyre erupted again, forming a lion dozens of metres long, roaring as it charged at the dementors.
Everyone saw the massive lion, seeming to bring Gryffindor's emblem to life, courageously leading the students into battle.
Roar!
The fiery lion bit down, swallowing two dementors whole. The blazing flames immediately enveloped them, searing their forms mercilessly.
Dementors were not easily harmed by magic, yet before Fiendfyre—even modified—few could resist. Dudley's version was far more powerful, designed specifically to counter these dark magical creatures.
Bang!
After being burned for some time, one dementor exploded into countless eerie black vapours that spread outward. The surrounding Fiendfyre quickly consumed the mist, preventing it from spreading further.
"The dementor… it was burned to death!"
Students at Hogwarts stared in shock.
According to their magical knowledge, dementors could not be killed, only driven away with a Patronus.
Yet just now, they had watched Dudley incinerate one with Fiendfyre.
The shock lit a flame of determination among them.
Previously, they had been on the defensive. Now, seeing their attacks were effective, their will to fight ignited instantly.
Spell after spell of fire flew from their wands.
Even though these flames were weaker than Dudley's Fiendfyre, if they inflicted even minor harm to the dementors, in numbers, they might actually destroy them.
Harry watched from behind, stunned.
He had never imagined Dudley's spell could truly burn a dementor to death.
At the same time, he noticed another figure in the sky.
Ron, riding a broom, with Hermione behind him. They worked in tandem, attacking the dementors relentlessly.
Hermione's spell was Incendio, modified just like Dudley's. It could also harm the dementors.
Seeing this, Harry's confidence surged.
"Incendio."
He tried the spell himself.
Immediately, he realised Dudley's modifications worked. The flame, which previously had almost no effect, now carried enough potency to damage—and even kill—dementors.
"Dudley, I'm ready. I want to act alone."
Harry told him, determination in his voice.
Following Dudley closely, Harry could not hope to face the dementors alone. Even if only one or two were near, Dudley's Fiendfyre would surround them instantly.
This would not challenge him.
"All right, be careful."
Dudley warned.
"No problem."
Harry gripped his broom, leapt from Norberta's back, and mounted his broom. He shot forward at top speed.
"Incendio!"
He swung his wand and cast the flame spell at the nearest dementors.
Bright fire gushed from his wand, illuminating the area. The dementors seemed less terrifying now.
The screams and green light of the past still flashed in his mind, but they no longer paralysed him. Instead, they fuelled his fury. He wanted revenge. He wanted to fight. The feeling of giving his all filled him with exhilaration.
"For Hogwarts! Fight!"
No one knew who shouted it, but the roar echoed across the stands, sending every Hogwarts student into a frenzy, throwing themselves boldly into the battle against the dementors.
