Sunshine's car had barely come to life when Hades slid into the back and grabbed her hands with a little too much strength. He looked at her with eyes that begged for understanding.
"Hades..." she started.
He pulled her into an embrace, crushing her against his chest, trapping her like cheese between two buns. "I'm sorry." He muttered. "I hoped that maybe against all odds, our fates had changed completely. That Moon's words would not come true. I don't understand how she showed up here. There was no bounty on Moon and Fifi in your last life. Was her appearance written in the stars or something?"
Sunshine opened her mouth to reply but before she could, the passenger door of the front seat creaked open. A figure slipped inside with the agility of a cat burglar.
