"The former Demon Lord of the Vampire race? How is that even possible?"

Rimuru glanced again at the silver-haired girl and couldn't help laughing inwardly.

"Didn't Ramiris say she retired fifteen hundred years ago?"

"And if she really were a Demon Lord, wouldn't the others know?"

...

"What's wrong, Shirou?" Rimuru asked. "Why did you go quiet all of a sudden?"

"Nothing," Shirou Emiya replied after a brief pause. "I'm just... a little shocked."

"Shocked?" Rimuru sounded confused.

"Yes. Shocked," Shirou said quietly, his gaze sliding toward the silver-haired girl from the corner of his eye. "What I said earlier was just a sudden association. I didn't even believe it myself."

He paused.

"But just now, my intuition told me my guess was right."

"Super Intuition?"

"Yeah. My infallible Super Intuition."

...

The private chat channel between Shirou Emiya and Rimuru fell silent.

Both of them needed a moment to process it.

After all, the idea was absurd.

"Role-playing?" Shirou thought. "Are the Demon Lords of this world really playing games this elaborate?"

"Don't ask me," Rimuru replied helplessly. "I may be a Demon Lord now, but I'm still a newcomer. I don't really understand their... corporate culture yet."

If she truly was a former Demon Lord, then someone here-probably several someones-had to know her real identity. This might even be a tacit agreement among them.

Everyone present could be knowingly playing along.

Judging from the timing of her abdication, she might have been keeping this act up for fifteen hundred years.

Were all Demon Lords insane?

After finishing his internal complaints, Shirou withdrew his gaze. This was clearly none of his business. They had more important matters to focus on.

Soon, another Demon Lord emerged from the portal.

Like the giant Demon Lord before him, this one arrived alone. He walked forward with sleepy eyes and stopped beside Ramiris, casually raising a hand in greeting.

"Morning, Ramiris. You're still as tiny as ever."

"You looking for a fight?" Ramiris snapped immediately. "How dare a weakling like you talk so big, Dino?"

So this was Dino.

From what Ramiris had said before, he seemed similar to her-another lazy Demon Lord.

"Idiot," Dino replied calmly. "I know I'd win. Why would I bother picking a fight with you?"

"Oh?" Ramiris bristled. "Sounds like you're tired of living. I'm in great condition today."

"No way," Dino said, squinting at her. "Didn't you shrink again? You're even smaller than last time."

"I can't help it! I just reincarnated recently!"

According to what Ramiris had said earlier, she would still need a hundred years to fully mature. She had only reincarnated fifty years ago, so this clearly wasn't her peak state.

Hearing that, Dino looked interested.

"Oh? So that's why. Sounds inconvenient. But you still inherit your memories, right?"

"I do," Ramiris said proudly. "But my spirit regressed along with my body. Still, I'm the strongest, so I have to go easy like this!"

"...Guy, Ramiris just said something."

"Idiot!" Ramiris immediately snapped, spinning around. "Are you stupid? I know exactly who I'm talking to, alright! Knocking out Guy with one punch? I've never even thought about something like that!"

She muttered excuses under her breath.

Watching from the side, Shirou couldn't help laughing inwardly.

This Ramiris was really something.

He shifted his attention away from the two bickering Demon Lords and toward the portal leading into the banquet hall.

Based on the information they had gathered, there were ten Demon Lords in total.

Five had already arrived.

That meant the remaining five would appear soon.

One of the oldest Demon Lords-Milim.

The Demon Lord who had summoned Shizue Izawa-Leon.

And the three newer Demon Lords-Frey, Carrion, and Clayman.

Every single one of them was connected to them in some way.

Before long, another Demon Lord emerged.

It was Frey.

As the ruler of the skies, she had an excellent figure and striking beauty. But Shirou Emiya's gaze wasn't on her at all.

It was fixed on the attendant behind her.

Not because Frey lacked appeal-Shirou's standards were simply high after seeing too many beauties.

The real reason was simpler.

He recognized that person.

That attendant was Demon Lord Carrion.

Shirou Emiya's eyesight was extremely sharp. Anyone he had seen once, he would never forget. Although the other party tried to disguise himself-with a mask, decorative wings, and altered attire-the sense of familiarity couldn't be fully concealed.

And the moment Shirou felt doubt, his Super Intuition delivered the answer.

There was no mistake.

It was Carrion.

"How is Carrion here?" Shirou thought. "Wasn't he defeated by Milim and taken to Clayman's territory?"

"So... was everything a lie?"

In that instant, Shirou's eyes lit up.

He understood.

"This was all an act."

"Milim's plan... was to target Clayman."

"So that's how it is."

After piecing everything together, a smile spread across Shirou Emiya's lips.

Since Milim was fine, his mood naturally improved. Clayman alone wasn't enough to make him uneasy. That scum could be left to Rimuru to deal with.

Just as Shirou was about to tell Rimuru everything he had figured out, Rimuru's voice suddenly echoed in his mind.

"Hahahaha, Shirou, you know what? I actually mistook Frey's attendant for Demon Lord Carrion!"

"...How is that possible?" Shirou's expression twitched. "Hahahaha."

"Didn't you ask the Lord of Wisdom?"

"Do I even need to ask something that obvious?" Rimuru replied confidently.

Shirou fell silent.

...Never mind.

"I won't tell him for now," Shirou decided. "This way, it's much more interesting."

The corner of his mouth lifted.

The smile only grew.
