When the fight started, Peter didn't know what to do, so he stayed back.
Honestly, Peter wasn't sure if he would even be useful with all of the chaos going on. To his left, Quinn and Fex were fighting a boy with brown skin and an afro, and on his right Erin and Earl were in a tightly locked battle clashing sword against bat.
As he was taking steps back to avoid any confrontation, he had accidentally bumped into something, and yelped. Quickly turning around, he saw it was just the large corpse of the burningsnake beast.
'Whew… no one's noticed me yet.'
"Oh crap!" A newcomer spoke.
Peter flung his head, and saw a short boy with a simple metallic gray shield. It was only in the shape of a circle, but despite the simple weapon, Peter was scared out of his mind. He knew who this person with the shield was, and it was none other than Jerry, the boy who had healed him constantly while he was being tortured.
"G-get back!" Peter sheepishly threatened, before forming a simple club.
Jerry had dead tired looking eyes, and was told to sneak around to steal their crystal by a teammate. This was his life, a simple errand boy who was relegated to just following what the strongest person had asked of him. However, looking at the situation in front of him, he was given a rare opportunity.
Jerry stepped towards Peter, shield held up in front of him. His once dead look to him had now developed an unnerving toothy smile.
"You didn't look so tough back then…" Jerry whispered, "Its about time I get to feel strong…"
Jerry had charged at Peter, shield in front.
Peter swung his club down, stopping Jerry. He tried to retaliate by swinging again at Jerry's exposed arms, but his opponent was simply faster.
Jerry bonked Peter in the head with the shield, causing him to fall to the floor.
His head ached as everything was spinning, but through his blurred vision, Peter saw Jerry on top of the beast corpse. He was about to carve out their crystal, when suddenly, a small clump of sand had strangely flown up, and was thrown at his face.
"Get off of our stuff!" A girl yelled at him.
Looking to see the source of the voice, Peter saw it was none other than Layla herself. However, something was missing from her appearance.
Once Jerry saw that he was clearly outnumbered, he jumped off of the beast, and ran away.
"You… You actually helped me," Peter whispered, looking up at Layla.
Layla grabbed at her cut arm, cringing a little from its pain, "Look, I may not fully like you, but we can't let them steal our stuff."
That was when Peter realized what was missing from Layla.
"W-what happened to your bow?"
Layla sighed, "I broke it trying to defend myself, but I need to know, can you make a new one?"
Peter shook his head.
"I… I can't. I don't have the MC to make it permanent. I would need to constantly hold it to make sure it retains it shape," he explained.
"Damn it," Layla cursed under her breath.
Yet again, she was disappointed by Peter, but there wasn't much that she can do other than to help keep watch of the beast crystal.

Erin was fighting hard against Earl. If she was in her element of fighting in darkness, this wouldn't be an issue at all. Because of her weakness to sun, Erin held her umbrella behind her back, and used her other arm for holding her rapier. This was how fencing worked, and was a lesson taught to her by Fex.
Erin thrusted her rapier forward, which had managed to slice at Earl's cheek, but didn't activate her weapon's ability. He retaliated by forming a thin pillar that jabbed into her arm, causing her to step back.

Then, he swung an earth bat at her face, creating a loud clang as Erin blocked it with her rapier. She swung his bat to the side, then stared down her opponent.
[Daze activated]
[Daze succeeded]
Earl had suddenly froze, a strange mix of fear and inaction had paralyzed him.
Seeing as the daze was working, Erin kicked him down as hard as she could, and he fell onto the sand.
Snapping out of whatever had come over him, Earl was about to get up, when Erin sliced across his chest. He rolled out of the way, and by digging his hand into the sand, had formed a new earth bat, swinging his whole body around as he did.
'Flashstep!'
The bat had missed Erin, and she found herself behind the boy.
"What!?" Earl yelled out.
He didn't know how Erin had gotten so fast. Even with her current beast gear, there was no way any of the first years should've had equipment so high quality that they could move faster than the blink of an eye.
Earl twisted his body awkwardly, knowing an attack was coming from Erin. Once again, she thrusted her sword, and he was able to narrowly form an earth wall separating him from pain.
This had given him enough time to stand up, and stomp his foot on the ground.
He had formed a 5 ft tall podium below him, then he shifted the ground around Erin to crack, and jut out in her direction. They were fast, but Erin was even faster. Even needing to hold her umbrella, the added training from Fex, and her beast gear covering her arms, meant that she had the room to utilize her agility.
Erin used another flashstep to jump over the jutted parts of the earth, and once she was on the tallest part, she staring right at Earl eye to eye.
'Crap, she's just so fast! She doesn't need to use her ability!'
Sprinting across, Erin rammed herself into her opponent, knocking him off of his pedestal, and the two had fallen onto the ground.
Before Earl could even scramble out from under Erin, she had stabbed her rapier into him, pinning him into the ground.

Leaning into his ear, Erin warned in a dangerous tone.
"I don't give a damn about you saving Peter."
