Chapter 28 - Wife

Vivian pov:

Vivian stepped off the plane like someone who had been expected.

The air in Incheon was cool, crisp, unfamiliar—but she didn't hesitate. Her heels struck the floor with quiet confidence as she adjusted her coat, eyes scanning the terminal with calm interest. Korea. Finally.

She smiled to herself.

Before the driver even finished loading her luggage, she pulled out her phone and dialed a number she'd memorized long before she needed it.

"Mother," she said sweetly when Junpyo's mother answered. "I've arrived in South Korea."

There was a sharp intake of breath on the other end—then delight.

"You're here already?" Junpyo's mother exclaimed. "Oh, Vivian, this is wonderful. You must be exhausted. Don't worry, everything is ready."

Vivian's smile widened. "I didn't want to delay things."

"You did the right thing," the woman replied warmly. "Welcome home."

The call ended with promises, cars, rooms, arrangements already in motion. Vivian slipped her phone back into her bag, satisfaction settling comfortably in her chest.

This was how things worked.

Almost immediately, Junpyo's parents turned to the next call.

Junpyo was in his apartment, half-dressed, tie abandoned on the table, when his phone started ringing.

He glanced at the screen and sighed.

"What now," he muttered, answering anyway. "Mother."

"Junpyo," his father's voice cut in, sharp and authoritative. "Your wife is in Korea."

Junpyo closed his eyes.

Which wife? he asked playing innocence.

Vivian of course he's father answered

"She's not my wife," he said flatly. "And I already told you—I'm not marrying her."

A pause

"Junpyo," his father said slowly, dangerously calm, "if you don't marry that girl, this company will fall apart."

Junpyo straightened. "That's not my responsibility."

A sharp sound—his father's hand slamming against something on the other end of the line.

"Do you want me to lose everything?" his father shouted. "Answer me!"

Junpyo clenched his jaw. "You built this company. Not me."

Silence crackled.

Then his father spoke again, voice cold as steel. "If you don't want me to disown you and leave you stranded with nothing—no name, no support, no future—you will go to the airport now and pick her up."

Junpyo's fingers tightened around the phone.

"And listen carefully," his father continued. "We're having a family gathering tomorrow. Both families will be there. Vivian's family and Ours."

Junpyo said nothing.

"Tell your brother Jinho to be prepared," his father added. "He must be there."

"Are we clear?"

The line went dead before Junpyo could respond.

He stared at his phone, chest tight, anger and disbelief colliding in his veins.

Wife???? He said laughing sarcastically.
