The air felt thick, like he was inhaling through wet cloth, and every breath scraped his throat raw.

His entire body felt like it was being compressed by an invisible hydraulic press, bones creaking under the strain. Even the fabric on his skin seemed to bite into him, and sweat cooled instantly under the weight of that Aura—cold sweat, the kind that wasn't relief but panic.
