He only saw dark. The world was dark and empty. When he sat up he felt the snow around him crunch. Sitting up he saw nothing. The world was dark. The sun was gone and there was no moon to be seen.
'Don't tell me its a new moon here.'
Getting up Anderson summoned both of his memories. While they were summoned he dusted the snow off of his exposed back. He was shivering. With his boots on and pipe in hand we started to walk. Trying to find anything. However, not being able to see anything did not help him in the slightest, so he decided to light his pipe. With the meager amount of light he could see the area around him. However, even that was limited as snow was falling blocking out most of his view. Exhaling the smoke his body seemed to warm.
'That enchant is a life saver.'
Thanks to the enchant Anderson's Sleeper body was reinforced, just enough to be able to withstand the cold. Without the worry of freezing Anderson found a tree and climbed it. Covering his pipe he waited in the try. Through the entire night Anderson waited in the tree.
After a few hours of waiting Anderson saw the sun rise. With it came a heat. Even though he could withstand the cold, it did not mean he liked the cold feeling on his bare skin.
Looking around Anderson saw something that had not ever crossed his mind when he arrived. A city. Not one that he had every heard of, but a city. Even though it was far away he could see it. It was a spire with a sprawling city attached to it. The spire was touching the heavens. Unlike the ruins of the Dream Realm he had been shown in his wilderness survival class, this city seemed to be inhabited. However, Anderson had done extensive research about all know citadels. The only region with weather like this would be around Ravenheart, but no citadel in that region looked anything like what he was seeing.
Now that he had a destination he had a new problem. Getting to the Spire. However, he wanted to take a good look around as he had seen that also immediately. If he was lucky he might be near something else that would be easier to get to.
So he looked, spinning around, he saw something.
"FUCK!" Anderson heart dropped. He quickly spun looking for the sun.
Seeing it he realized that the spire was to the north. However, if the spire was north then the thing he saw was in the south.
It meant he was north of the second location.
It meant he was north of the Hollowed Mountains.
Zena POV
Zena woke. There was no darkness. She laid on something wooden. Moving the wood creaked. Looking around she saw hundreds of thousands of tracks floating in the air, going any and all directions. On the tracks were thousands of trains. Each one unique. Everyone of them was moving. Some fast some slow. Some steam. Some coal. Some running off of things Zena didn't even know of. However, it was not any of the trains that caught Zena's attention. I was the lack of a sky.
'Am I underground?'
Looking closer Zena saw hundreds of stalactites. Each one hanging down farther than she thought possible. Looking at the ceiling her vision wandered. Trying to find if there was a way out.
That was until Zena saw two things each one in opposite directions that see stopped looking. The first thing she saw was a wall of darkness. It was an unusual darkness. The light from the millions of lanterns just stopped. If the tracks did not continue into the darkness then Zena would have thought it was just another wall, but the tracks and trains continued into the darkness.
The second thing Zena saw was an extremely large stalactite. She would have just glanced over it if the tacks and trains didn't all meet at that stalactite.
With nothing else to do Zena started walking. Slowly she walked. Trying to not loose her balance on the track she was on. She decided to head to the stalactite as it seem safer than the wall of darkness.
As she walked she looked at the tracks around. Some of them seemed broken. Some had the wires that held them up cut. Some looked unfinished. The place looked abandoned and yet there were clearly signs of life. On some tracks she saw creatures. She could not make them out, but they looked alive.
Hours passed as she walked. She had decided to summon her memory just in case.
"God I wish I had amor or anything for me to where. Why did I not think of this earlier? Why did I think I would be able to make something to wear? Why did I have to end up here?"
As she rambled about her mistakes and misfortune she caught a glimpse of something.
She rolled. Dodging the thing she saw.
It was a creature. No it was a machine.
The little thing was made of wood. As it moved gears turned piston pumped.
The machine was a golem.
Zena quickly raised her guard. Her sword ready for any attack. The golem slowly walked toward her. As it moved its pace sped up till it was running. It quickly reached Zena. Trying to ram her it didn't slow.
Just as it was about to reach Zena, she twisted letting the creature run right pass her. The golem need to stop. However, it slowed at the same pace it sped up. This gave Zena the opening she need to run after the golem. Chasing the creature she ran. Just as it slowed and was about to turn Zena reached it. Slamming her sword into the head of the golem.
However, it did not stop. It turned, its hand like appendages extended. Hitting her in her stomach. This sent her over the edge of the track. She only managed to hold on with one hand.
Before she could get her second hand on the tracks she saw the creature approach her. It got closer. It only stopped once it was above her hand. Raising one foot it prepared to stomp on her hand.
At that moment she reached up and grabbed the second leg. She pulled as hard as she could, sending the golem over the edge and into the bottomless pit bellow.
Getting up she laid on the tracks.
[You have slain an Awakened Beast, Clockwork Golem]
[You have received a memory, Clock Worker's Cloak]
"That counted as me killing it? I'm not complaining. Also, lets go I got another memory."
Hearing that she got a memory she immediately summoned it.
Slowly a dark brown cloak wrapped itself around Zena.
"I guess my wish was granted."
